If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t;
If you’d like to win, but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost,
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will;
It’s all in the state of mind.

My prayers are with all of you.

My prayers and deepest condolences go out to all the families who have lost their loved in this tragedy at Virginia Tech.
I attended Blacksburg Highschool in Blacksburg VA, and went to the Virginia Tech Library from time to time if I needed to do some research for school. This place has a very special place in my heart.

I was deeply saddened and surprised when I wook up Monday morning and saw the news.  I am a student myself, I cannot imagine how I would have felt if God forbid something so terrible would occur at my campus.  Students should be safe and feel at ease while they are in school.  I don’t have words to express my sadness.  It is indeed a tragic and heart breaking incident.  We are all devestated and afraid at the same time that something like this can happen again.  May God be with you all students, faculty, and especially to those families who lost their loved ones.  You all are in our prayers and may God give you the strength to cope with the loss and go on.

Our prayers of hope, strength, and love are with everyone at VT affected by this horrible tragedy.  It is not enough to say that we are sorry but it is all that we have.  Too many young lives full of promise have been taken far too soon. God Bless you all with his love and grace.  May you find strength in the memories of your children and peace in knowing that they are in a better place where you will one day meet again.

My family spent 7 years living in Blacksburg as a part of the Virginia Tech Family, while my husband earned his PhD and was a post-doctoral associate. Our time in Blacksburg was the best time of our lives.We still consider it to be “our home”. Blacksburg is an amazing community of people bound by Virginia Tech.There is no place in the world I’d rather be. We wanted to extend our sympathies to all of the families and friends of the victims of this horrid tragedy. We will continue to pray and have our family community of Blacksburg in our every thought.

My family and I are heartbroken over your unimaginable loss and will keep you in our prayers. While nothing in this world is guaranteed, please know that one thing you can count on is that so many people around the world care deeply and ache with you in their own way, as we know this could have been any of us. I hope the accounts of selfless bravery on the part of some of these great people we lost too soon will inspire others to pick up where they left off- to excel, to achieve, to make the world a better place, and to care about others. These were all bright, dedicated, talented people and the world is now diminished without them. We lost many wonderful souls that day who will now love their families and friends from the comfort of God’s arms.

The students, faculty, and staff of Virginia Tech are in my thoughts and prayers. As a student, I can’t imagine the shock and sadness that the school community is experiencing at this time. It is obvious that the students are able to rally together to support each other. I can only say that reaching out to family and friends is the greatest remedy to help some people during this time of grief and loss.

I can’t imagine what the families and friends of VT are going through. It is a parent’s worst nightmare.  Having four children of my own, it really hits hard, knowing that this can happen anytime, anywhere to anyone.  It makes us all realize just how precious life really is.

Hope the families find comfort in knowing that God must have needed more angels in heaven to watch over and guide those of us on earth!  I will continue to pray for all the students, families, friends and staff of VT.

My thoughts are with all of you and your families. This was a horrific tragedy.  I live in a major metropolitan area with several prominent universities, and I can’t help but think about all of the talent and youth that is now no longer here to help shape and mold our country.  I hope that the collective body of VT will see the need for gun control.  It is the young voters who can really warrant a change, and now is the time to do it.  We really need a strong moral code and we need groups of people to stand up for those changes. One person like myself won’t even make a dent.  It is my hope that after the shock has worn off, that you will honor those people who lost their lives, with creating major changes in policies, and government, so that these tragedies will not happen so frequently.
I am very saddened by this, and I honestly hope we will see the greatness that can come out of the VT student body; creating a wave of change.
Sincerely, Liz

Even though I graduated from a California college back in 1991, I feel as if I am a college student today, grieving for the loss of my fellow classmates, my friends, my Hokies.

When something like this happens we all become a community, a community who grieves along with our neighbors.  Today California grieves with and for Virginia.  I cannot imagine what these Virginia Tech students, faculty, families and the community have experienced this week, the sheer horror of it all. It is too much to put your mind around.
We grieve along with each and every one of them.  My heart aches for so many families who have lost their precious loved ones in such a brutal way.

We are all classmates today, fellow Hokies, as we reach out to Virginia Tech. I pray for each and every one of them today, for the living and for the lost.

With Deepest Sympathy,

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Angel’s Tearsby Saige

It is raining
A soft, warm sprinkle
I do not look for cover
They are angel’s tears
A nectar from heaven
I watch as small puddles form
Miniature streams begin to flow
Two join forces becoming one
Streams of my mother’s tears
Combining their strength, their love
To give me guidance and hope
The sun peeks from behind the clouds
Rays of promise for a new day
The rain subsides
The streams continue on
Gathering force to become a river
One day to merge with my raging torrent
In hopes to one day become
A peaceful and tranquil lake

Dont worry because through everything, you’ll become closer, cry together, be together, and get over everything together, it may be very hard, but God is holding youre hand and walking and of course crying as you lean on his shoulder.
