I wanted you to know that I work for a church in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area.  We are all shocked and saddened by the shooting.  We are praying in our prayer time every morning for the parents, students, faculty and friends of those killed.  May our precious Lord and Savior comfort you and fill you with His peace as you all mourn this horrible act.

Dear VT Community,

We are deeply saddened by the loss of the these young, bright minds, and by the loss of those who helped to mold them.

I am so sorry for all the Virginia Tech family and
friends that are grieving right now. It is a terrible thing this man has done. Let us all learn
and move on to keep our children safe, and push for legislation to have law enforcement and university police to communicate better. My heart
goes out to all of you and I pray God will give you the strength and comfort to live very productive lives as you all so deserve. God Bless each and every one of you.

4/16/2007 - a date that will stay in all our minds.

My thoughts are with all students, staff and those that have lost loved ones. I deeply hope that sharing your inner pain and feelings with others is going to help you to cope with this tragedy.

The world could tell by the convocation as well as the candlelight vigil that there seems to be a strong VT community able to support each other - keep up that remarkable spirit!

It’s hard to imagine how this terrible tragedy has come about. But in tragedy it is clear, from the many kind words on this website, lies an incredible spirit to rise above and care for one another.

Like so many we have shed tears in our home for those who have been affected by this terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and best wishes are with you in your time of grief.

My heart goes out to everyone affected on any level for any reason in reaction to the horrific and senseless acts of this disturbed individual. I am a VT student who has never been prouder to be one as I am right now, considering how we have come together in such a way that truly shows our Hokie Spirit!! We will continue to grieve and mourn but in the end we will perservere as Hokies around the world.

As Nikki Giovanni so eloquently stated, “We will continue to invent the future.....We Are Virginia Tech”. God bless everyone and please take 32 seconds of silence today to remember those innocent victims that were taken from us WAY too soon.

May god be with you during this very difficult time. As healing time begins look toward your friends and peers for comfort and support. Its the best kind of healing anyone can receive. As a freshman student at Columbine during April 20, 1999 I know how sad this time is. Please be strong and unite with your classmates to remain the strong VT community that you are. God Bless

Dear VT Students and Family,

I just wanted you to know that you are not alone in this time of tragedy. The entire world is praying for each and everyone of you. You will never forget the friends lost and the memories will stay with you forever. I lost my nephew 2 years ago and I still laugh today because of who he was and what he wanted out of life. He was the guy that made everyone laugh and only wanted everyone to love each other. I pray that you all find the strength to go back to school and continue the education that you all deserve. The world will be a better place because of you all. Show the world that VT will stand proud and tall and continue to do what is best for each and everyone one of you.

I read up on how the “Hokies” came about. I have been told for the longest that there is no “I” in team. Hokies is another word for team, a team with unbelievable spirit. I know Virginia Tech will overcome this unexplainable tragedy, my family and I send out our prayers desiring that you all gain comfort and continue on with your dreams (careers).
“God Bless the Hokies"and their families.

1 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may comfort those who are in any affiction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. I am miles away from VT however I am a recent college graduate as is my husband. We just want to say to the victims friends and families that when the dust settles and the media have long gone,in those quite nights in your home, Our Heavenly Father will lift you up and give you comfort and peace. If you don’t know who he is, please take this time to find him. He is the one that will give you a calming sense of peace for your tragic lost. You will forever be in my prayers.

My heart pours with condolences to all the families that lost their loves ones. I just can’t understand why it took for the shotter to take his owen life in order for the killings to stop. Why wasn’t he not stopped? Why?  I am so afraid for the safety of my own children. I use to think schools were safe, but now I ask myself, should I home school my kids? There has to be a stronger game plan to avoid this tragedy to ever happen again.  The schools needs more security. Our future (kids)needs our protection.

April 18, 2007, 12:32pm • Gastonia NC • #14383

My memories of Norris Hall are fond and I find it so very difficult to reconcile them with the horror that occurred there.

There are so many people and things to weep for.  What I choose to weep for is the so very human ability shown by so many kids at the convocation, the ability to be with each other in silence, to hold each other and weep for what they have no choice but to weep for.

My heart breaks for each and every one affected by this tragedy.

I would like for the Virginia Tech family to know that my family and I are holding you in our prayers for the losses you have experienced. The loss of any life is too high a price but the loss of young lives is so tragic, the potential of a life not lived to its full potential. May you, through God’s grace, overcome this tragedy and grow ever stronger. My best to all Hokies.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the victims and to the college.  As an EMS volunteer, you see horrible things, but I cannot imagine the devastation that occurred on your campus.  To the staff and students, please take advantage of any crisis counselling that is offered to you.  You may not feel like you need it at this time, but trust me it can sneak up on you at any time.  Talk about it now while it is still fresh in your minds.  It will help you immensely in the future.  God Bless.
