My everything goes out to everyone at Virginia Tech. I am saddened to hear that this young man decided to take lives into his own hands. Know that you have the support of the University of Montevallo. We are dedicating 2 songs and a concert to the students, Professors, and families of those whose lives were taken at our next few concerts. We are doing what we can to honor the memory of those lost. Hold strong, and come together. We are indefinitely Hokies, and we are pulling for each and every person at Virginia Tech.

I understand the pain you are going through. My cousin Terry was killed in the Oklahoma City bombing, and live close by Littleton, Colorado. This is the hardest thing you will do, and impossible to do now, but you must eventually forgive the person responsible for this. It is the only way you will truly be able to move on with your lives.

Fellow Hokies--
I hold you in my heart.
I hold you in my prayers.
Though I am far away,
I am there, with you,
in tears and sorrow,
in questions unanswered,
and in the new hope
that will one day arise.
I hold you in my heart.
I hold you in my prayers.
WE are Va.Tech.
WE are the Hokie Nation.
WE are Orange and Maroon.
WE are together.
And, I hold you....

Dear Virginia Tech community,

Many years ago my best friend died; as I watched strangers going about their business, I couldn’t grasp how my life could be so tragically altered, yet they were going on as though nothing happened.  Please know that this is not the case here. Our whole nation has been profoundly affected.  And while we can’t truly fathom what you are going through, we will continue to pray for you all.  I firmly believe that “in all things God works together for good for those who love Him,” so my prayer is that God will reveal to you very specific examples of how He is working through this.  I am a teacher and a mother of two college students, so this tragedy really hits home.  I pledge to pray fervently for you all.  May God’s peace that passes understanding envelope you and comfort you all.

I saw this act of crime on my t.v. and was horrified. I was thinking of myself and how bad my life was and maybe it would be better if I just went away and died somewhere,I was praying to god my life would change....Then I walked by the telivision set and saw this and was immediatly woke up to the fact,That my life is not that bad.I really want to say and pray at this time ....Dear Jesus,I pray for all the families affected by this horrible act of violence,to the families and friends who are left with these aweful memories of this day,May they in somehow benefit from this and may the memories they do have be good ones...May all the parents have their pain eased.May the brave professor always remain a hero in our hearts and history.May all the students families and faculty always have a special bond that never be broken. Give them the strenght they need to rise above this, And carry the forgiveness in there hearts they need to carry on..In jesus name ..AMEN From our hearts in Missouri to your hearts in Virginia. We give you our best.

Do not feel that your sons, daughters, teachers, friends and family members died in vain.  As I read about each person, I was greatly impressed by their vast accomplishments and their goals for the future.  But mostly, I was deeply touched by the warm words spoken by their families and friends: “intelligent and funny”, “deeply loved”, “beautiful and creative”, “ a gift in the lives of people who met him”.  This fall, three of my children will be attending colleges in all different parts of the United States.  Every night, I pray for their safety.  All of the members of the Hokie Family will be in my prayers also.

It saddens me greatly to think what the staff, students, family members of the victims, as well as the community, must be going through during such a horrific time.  I will never understand why anyone would take several lives of people who have never met or hurt the suspect in any sort of way.  As a university student myself, I understand that this could happen anywhere, and something must change now… this happens way too often!  It must stop!  But for now, all we can do is pray for all who have been affected; my deepest condolenses to the family and friends of those whose lives were lost. No words can express the saddness that comes to me at this time; I can’t even begin to imagine what any of you must be feeling.

My prayers are with you all and your families. I couldn’t imagine something like that happening at VCU, and just today classes here went on as usual, but as we came into class early this morning, there was an eery sort of paranoia that reminded us that you all did this very same thing just yesterday. Almost two years ago now I came to VCU and learned quickly that you were my rivals, but although I rooted against you during the basketball season, I’m rooting for only you know. Today, and forever, I am a Hokie.

Dear Virginia Tech Students,Staff, Administration, and Beloved Families,

You are a profoundly beautiful, diverse, and courageous community.  There is no way to explain why or how this happened to anyone, let alone some of the brightest, most promising individuals in the country. Hurting people, hurt others and it is obvious this person was in immense pain, for a very long time.

In times like this we just have to trust and believe that God is a healer, and he is willing to comfort and heal every broken heart.  I know many of you are hurting and bewildered, but be encouraged that you are not alone in this dark hour. Millions of people around the world are praying for the spirits of the Virginia Tech Community and the families of the victims.  I pray for your comfort in this time and your restoration.

May God Bless and Keep you Through the Storm

God has a mighty army
Of Angels everywhere.
Some you cannot see,
Some, our daily lives they share.

All have been summoned here
For specific reasons.
Some are here for an extented time,
Others for shorter seasons.

Angels guide, teach, and protect
Or shape our lives some way.
No one, only God Himself,
Knows why Angels cannot stay.

The Lord’s ways are far too big
For us to fathom why,
But in time, we’ll see in clarity
Why Angels say goodbye.
