I pray that the shalom (peace) of God would rest upon that campus.  I pray that God’s love would touch every heart and comfort every soul that has been affected by this tragedy.  Messiah Jesus said the thief (devil) comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but He has come so that we might have life, and have it to the full.  The enemy make think he won a victory on April 16th, but Hokies unite and declare that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear...The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.” What Satan meant for evil, God will turn around for good, for He has said in His Word, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” In Yeshua’s mighty name! Amen.

My prayers goes out to the families of the victims. It is sad that our nation has to endure such a tragedy. What’s really sad is when someone does something great in our nation we may recognize it and we forget very fast, but when something happens that devistate lives like this we will remember. I believe that the President needs to implement a law which is followed nationwide on the purchase of guns, all the forms be the same, have an agency set up which only deals with people wanting to obtain ownership of a handgun/weapon.  There also needs to be a certain level of security put in place not only in colleges and universities but in every school across our nation. I realize that it would be a costly undertaking, but you cannot put a price on a life.I am proud to be an American and most of all a christian. We are truly blessed to have the freedom if we choose to worship a God who is caring and loving. The USA as a nation comes together in times of a crisis, however we need to come together on a daily basis and recognize how truly fortunate we are to have the freedom. God Bless to each of you who are in mourning. This is a time of healing for us. We all can change our life one day at a time.

Dear Virginia Tech Students, Faculty & Staff, I do not know what to say, it is difficult. I spent five amazing years of my life living on and off campus in Blacksburg. You felt like you were living in your own protected little world away from the harsh realities of the real world. I am writing to let you know that there has been pressure in my chest since hearing the horrible details of the students, faculty & staff’s day, Monday morning. I was able to watch the convocation after work today and was so happy to hear “Let’s go Hokie’s!” My thoughts are with you in your time of distress. I am so sorry for your loss. I know this is very general every person connected to this tragedy has each lost something unique to him or her. I wish for everyone that is injured, patience and a strong will. I eventually hope for everyone affected, peace of mind. I hope that all Hokie’s (and those around the world, Thank You!) will continue to speak out and support Virginia Tech and the Town of Blacksburg. Katie Proud Hokie Class of 2002

Our dear American Friends;

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone effected by this terrible tragedy.  I cannot imagine what you are all going through and will not even try to say that “I understand.” I sincerely hope and pray that no more families will have to go through what you and so many others have faced.

Take refuge with one another and pray with and for one another; it will get you through it, not over it.  You will never get over such a tragic loss, but slowly, slowly you will get through.

I urge everyone to work to ensure that this never happens again through your Govnerment.  Do not let this tragedy of your sons, brothers, daughers, sisters and families go in vain.  Take up the fight along with other familes who have experienced what you have.  There is more power in numbers.

I don’t know what else I can say to express our deepest sympathies.  You are all in our prayers and in the prayers of our entire community.

Take care of each other neighbors!  We want you to know you have our support!

Please know we are with you as you face the most difficult days and months ahead.

It is not even conceivable to think of the pain and suffering that so many of you in the Virginia Tech community are experiencing at this moment.  I cry each time I watch the news and see how hurt many of you are and how this has affected the university.  I believe as a fellow college student that you will all prevail, slowly but surely, and overcome this tragedy to show the immense pride in your school and to become even more unified than you already are.  You are exemplary in courage and bravery.  Today may not be the day for you to laugh or smile, and nor may the days that follow.  You will, however, be Virginia Tech, an institution of higher learning at its finest.  May there be peace to you all.

my heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy, but i think its important to not forget to pray for the family of the murderer. i realize many may feel hate towards him and his family, but he will recieve judgement in the afterlife. so instead of focusing the evils he represented, lets focus on the heroes involved in the tragedy.

In my opinion, I believe it is still time to mourn and respect the slain victims at Hokie nation. We around the nation and the world are all behind the people of Virginia Tech, and though there were possible ways to lessen the damage, the damage has been done and we must pay our respects to the victims before we move forward and discuss the other matters with the situation.

We don’t need to extrapolate on race, class, or any other matters. We in essence are a population, and in all seriousness, there is no reason to differentiate one from another during predicaments such as these. We need to bond, learn from this experience, and conglomerate as a population in every manner, including our condolences, to propel ourselves forward.

I give my utmost condolences to all affected by the nefarious actions of the perpetrator.
