I just wanted to reach out to all of you in the Hokie Nation. As a UNC alum, I do bleed Carolina Blue, but today, I would like to adopt the colors of Virginia Tech. I do believe that our entire nation has now become a part of the Hokie Nation.
We can never truly understand what you have experienced, but please know that we support you and care for you in this time of tragedy and grief. Your loving care for each other, and the sacrifices made on 4/16 to save as many as possible, are amazing examples that goodness does prevail, even in the most confusing times.
The service today was so moving, but I cried the hardest when you all began the Virginia Tech cheer. What a beautiful tribute to those who were injured or killed, and a strong message that Virginia Tech will never be defeated by this devastating event.
May peace and healing surround you and your loved ones now and forever.

When something this tragic happens, there are no barriers.  You are not a community, a school nor a country, that mourns alone.  We see your faces on the television and feel your shock, pain and grief.  We do not know you, but we care.  Know that everyone in the world, (literally) are sending you a piece of their heart.
Thinking of you all..
Love a caring Canadian.

I am truly saddened by the tragic events of yesterday. Many of my friends have assured me that they are okay but it still hurts to know that the 32 people that lost their lives will not be assuring any of their friends or family members. I am keeping everyone at Virginia Tech in my prayers. My family will pray. Everyone at Norfolk State University will pray. Lean on God and let him guide you the rest of the way. To those we have lost, we will think of you and keep the memories alive. You will never be forgotten.

First and foremost, like everybody else my thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to each and every person affected by this insufferable tregedy.  What I think those people should know, however, is that they have a nation, a WORLD, behind them.  They deserve to know that for them and the people they loved, everybody stopped.  Every person stopped what they were doing and went quiet for a moment.  At some point, a country was silent, and a world of people mourned.  You have an astounding amount of love and support from millions of people.

This is a tragedy in American history.  So for today, forget any and all of your college affiliations.

For today, we are ALL Hokies.

Following the Columbine shooting, Franklin Graham had this to say: “Jesus understands loss. When Jesus heard of the death of His good friend Lazarus, he wept. He knows your pain. He sees your tears, and He offers what He offered Lazarus - resurrection to a new life. Eternal life with Him: Jesus said ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.”
May the words of Christ bring comfort and hope to a greiving community. And may many find new life and salvation in Him.
We love you all.

As a mom who has a graduating senior May 11, 2007, No words can express the pain that has struck us and marred the peaceful campus of a great University that my son choose 4 years ago to attend as a football player.
