My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy. My hope is that you will be able to find peace.

I also wanted to say how proud I am of the students, administration, and parents at Va Tech who have displayed such dignity in spite of the media’s inflammatory comments and questions.

I don’t know any of you, but most certainly you are in my prayers.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

To the students,families, and professor’s of Virginia Tech,

My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Like many of the millions around the world I have been glued to my tv and computer these past two days.  Please do not take anger from this incident.  Turn this into your pursuit of happiness.  Gain strength from what has happened and direct what would have been anger into a direction that will make you shine brighter than today.  You are America’s shinning stars.  You have handled yourself with nothing but class!  After all you are the Hokies!  America is a Hokie nation!  We are Virginia Tech!

All my Love,

Jeanne Turlington

First, my wife and I want the families and friends of those who lost their lives or were wounded and the community of Virgina Tech to know they have our deepest condolences and prayers.

We share their undescribable grief as a family whose college age daughter was the victim of a senseless, brutal murder here in Texas in May of 2006.  Our daughter, Melanie Diane Parker, was shot to death in cold blood and her bed was set on fire with her body in it burning her beyond recognition to cover up the murder.  The unknown murderer remains at large and the police have no suspects. We truly understand the depth of grief and sadness that is yet to come.

This senseless tragedy at Virginia Tech will exponentially affect many lives.  Those that are left to deal with the loss, grief, anger, pain and so many other emotions are now experiencing every parent and families worst nightmare.  Recovery from this immense personal devastation will take years.

May the grace, peace and strengh of God’s love provide those affected by this horrible act with the strengh to move forward with life to honor those whose lives were taken or changed forever.

Our prayers are with you

To The Virginia Tech Family:
The entire nation shares in your loss but words will never be enough to ease your pain.  May God grant you peace and may time heal your wounds.  The loss will never be greater than it is today. Our family expresses condolences to all those families and friends who lost loved ones Monday.  Our hearts are heavy but we know that the great Virginia Tech will rise above this disaster and the memory of those lost will be forever embedded in the hearts and minds of those left behind.
My husband was born and raised in Virginia and his nephew attended Virginia Tech.  In the visits “home” over the last few years I noticed how every house in Virgina it seemed flew a VT flag.  He is “Virginian” through and through and this weighs heavy on his heart!  May those injured and hospitalized have a speedy recovery.  God Bless You All!  Go Hokies!

Amazing Hokie Community,

This is one of the worst things most of us have ever gone through. Rest assured, you are in the prayers of this entire nation, especially Liberty University. Although we are over an hour away from you, we feel as though this has happened on our own campus. We can’t imagine how you all are feeling.

During this time, it’s going to be hard to see any good or find any real comfort. The best source of comfort you can find is in Jesus Christ. I urge you to seek Him out. He loves you and wants to help you heal. Please let Him. He is the only one that is keeping me in composure. A family friend, Michael Pohly, was one of the students tragically lost in the devastation. I did not personally know him, but I feel like he was a close friend. I feel like I just lost 32 of my closest friends. And I can’t believe. However, out of anything terrible, God will bring out something wonderful. Who knows what it is. If you draw near to Him, maybe you can find it. He loves you so much. WE ALL LOVE YOU SO MUCH. At this time, and for the time to come, WE TOO ARE HOKIES. AMERICA IS A HOKIE NATION. And we love you. God bless you all.

By the power of Christ,

My immediate family as well as my church family will keep your family<s> in our prayers; life is an opportunity to praise our creator as he shows us HIS glory.  More importantly, our time spent here should usher us to be with GOD.  Your memories won’t be forgotten, as I have found you were some amazing individuals.  GOD only selects “the best”...............

God Bless all of you and may you find the strength to go on.

I wrote this poem for my mother-in-law who passed away recently and just wanted to shar it with all of you who are mourning the loss of truly gifted, beautiful people who had such bright futures. I pray for all of you in your hours of need.

I watched you from a distance,
I saw the way you lived your life;
I saw the depths of your heart,
I watched your mild and meek persistence.

I heard your patience, your joy and understanding,
I listened to your stories of yesterday and today;
I heard your sweet laughter over silly little things,
I listened to your soul and it told of the love you had to give.

I watched you touch the hearts of everyone around you,
I saw the sparkle in your eyes and flash of love’s light;
I saw your goodness and your true faith in God up above,
I watched someone I want to be like.

I heard your childlike innocence,
And I listened…
I watched your years of knowledge,
And I heard…
Your touch on my own heart,
And I felt…

I heard a song for you today…
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Ye, who are weary, come home.
