People always ask me where I live and I tell them West Virginia.  They say your from Virginia and I state “no”.  Today there is no West Virginia or Virginia. Even though we are from different states, in a tradgedy like this we are united, we are one, and we feel your pain and mourn your losses.  When someone hurts us we all become Hoakies.  God bless this world we live in.

Just know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time.  There is no reason for this.  I just pray that a wonderful, merciful God is holding you all in his embrace!  And, soon...maybe not tomorrow or the next...but very soon, the pain will start to ease and life will go on...maybe to a “new normal”.  As a mother of two children, graduates of Michigan State University, I lived through the horror and fear as I watched it unfold on Monday and spent much of today praying for y’all.  God Bless and Keep you all!

"I wish you were here” - Mark Harris

I wanted to tell you how closely I’ve kept
The memories of you in my heart
And all of the lifetimes that we’ve had to share
Live even though we’re apart
But don’t cry for me
Cause I’m finally free

To run with the angles
On streets made of gold
To listen to stories of saints new and old
To worship our Maker
That’s where I’ll be
When you finally find me

No don’t you be weary cause waiting for you
Are wonders that you’ve never known
Just hold on to Jesus, reach out for His hands
And one day they’ll welcome you home
And that’s when you’ll be
Finally Free
Finally Free
I wish you we’re here

And all of the dreams that you treasure
Will soon come together
And that’s when your sorrow will tomorrow
And you will rise again

I wish you were here
I wish you were here

There are truly no words.  This tragedy, this unimaginable horror has invaded our trust and destroyed lives.  As a graduating high school senior, my heart goes out to all at Virginia Tech.  I may not know anyone personally, but I am personally affected by this tragedy as are many around me.  The news of the massacre brought shock, fear, hysteria, mistrust, and gried and now all must overcome these with strength, hope, and remembrance.  My prayers are with you and my heart goes out to every one of you: all who perished in this horrible crime have a place in my heart forever, may your lives be cherished and honored.

A time to kill and a time to heal,
A time to tear down and a time to build,
Ecclestiases 3:3

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ [a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

VT community… though I do not wear your school colors or live nearby, I feel the immense pain and saddness as a result of yesterday’s horrific hours.  We all unite in our thoughts and prayers and, though, we will never be the same people we were prior to April 16th, 2007… but we will continue as the fortunate and carry a piece of all who were were not.  We move on for them, but never let the day slip our mind.  We are all family because we are college students, brothers, sisters, loved ones, and citizens.  We are… together.

May our faith help our healing process.  God Bless all…

I cannot even fathom the grief and the stunned sense of loss that hangs over Blacksburg now and is shared by all of us, both Hokies and non-Hokies alike the world over.  As a Hokie proud to have my MD “VT” tags, I’ve placed a black mourning stripe across the Hokie Bird in tribute to those whose lives are forever changed by this senseless tragedy.  A small simple gesture to show our Hokie honor - I encourage anyone with Hokie tags to join me.

To all the honkies,
I am one of the VT-MENA student, it is a VT graduate program running in Egypt. I want to express my deep feelings of sorrow, suffering and sadness for that disaster that hit all of us. It was a shot to the heart of everyone of us. It is a pain that we will never forget. I am asking you all to pray and ask GOD to accept all the victims in heaven. One of the dear victims that we lost was an Egyptian friend who had a wife and little 2 years son. Ask GOD with me for mercy and help to heal.

I am deeply saddened by the tragic deaths of your beloved students and faculty.  It is horrific to think that someone could have so much anger and hate inside that they could open fire on innocent people.  My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in your community, current and alumni.  I can say that while in college I could have never called myself a Hokie as I am a proud XU Musketeer rooting for my team in many games against the Hokie basketball team.  Even then, it was easy to see how much spirit the Hokies have.  As stated many times during these horrific events, “Today we are all Hokies!” The amazing spirit of the “Hokie Nation” will prevail.  God Bless you all!

Dear Virginia Tech students, faculty, loved ones and all affected by this horrible tragedy,

I turned on the television this afternoon to hear about this horrible massacre.  I was totally devastated to learn of what had taken place.  I immediately said a prayer that GOD would comfort the families of lost loved ones and to strengthen and comfort the schoolmates that lost a friend, professor, mentor and fellow classmate.

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time of sorrow.  It is very unfortunate that we live in a world of such senseless crime and violence.

Fortunately, the Bible gives us the hope that soon Jehovah God will usher in a world free from this type of horrible tragedy.  Know that GOD too is very unhappy with such horrible acts of violence and that such ones will not be a part of his new world.  (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:3,4 and Psalms 37:10, 11)

May you find comfort from God’s word the Bible and know that you are in our prayers.

When something like this occurs it is a tragedy that no one should have to deal with. My heart goes out to all of the students and teachers who lost their lives the day of April 16, 2007. My thoughts and prayers also go out to the families and friends who were affected by this heart wrenching tragedy. I just pray that some how and some way those people can find some peace in knowing that those people lost are still with them everyday. Even though they may not be able to see them, they are there guiding you through this horrible time. My thoughts and prayers are with all affected and those who are not and I pray that something like this does not happen again.
