I haven’t felt this type of hurt since the tragedy of 9/11. My heart is heavy. I find myself thinking of the fear felt by each of the students and professors on that tragic day. It makes me sad and extremely angry. Since the incident my daily outlook has not been the same. I cherish my family, friends, aquaintances...and of course HOKIES. I love all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. As with 9/11...I will always remember. You will always be in my heart. I would like to say “Thank You” to the rest of the world for all of your well wishes and prayers!God bless!

this goes to show you that we need to go to war with north korea jk, I feel really sorry for the victims that were taken in innocence and cannot show enough support for relatives, cousins, wives, whomever of the people that were hurt or killed. This is not a war with one person its a war against sick twisted ideals and mislead anger which we all need to take under consideration when raising our kids so that none turn into monsters like that killer.

I am a Mom with two students who currently attend VT.  My oldest child just graduated from VT last year. My kids attended the same high school as the gunman. I was shocked yesterday when I heard the news - I cannot imagine what these families are going through.  My heart goes out to them.

As an educator, I believe education should be safe.  For those who lost their lives Monday and those who lived, their families, and their friends, education was not safe.  This should never be.  You did nothing wrong.  You sought knowledge.  Bless you in your suffering.  Bless you in your sorrow.  Bless you in your eventual healing.  I and many others are in behind you in your road to your future.

There are no words that can explain why people choose evil and to take joy from others. Maybe in their delusion they believe they can steal the joy of others that has, in their mind, been unfairly stolen from them.
To the President of Virginia Tech and your Police staff: While some attempt to place blame remember, If you had locked down the entire campus, you would have locked a well armed, angry and proven murderer, in a dorm full of different victims. (It was a No Win Situation). Please know you did the best you could under impossible circumstances.  May the Lord Bless you, your staff and the young men and women you love and guide.
In Christ,

I know she knows we love her Lord,
but tell her once again,
because I wasn’t ready
for this to suddenly end.

There’s so much I want to tell her,
and some things we had planned to do,
but now before we know it,
she’s gone home to you.

My heart feels like it’s breaking,
its like a nightmare every day,
they say the pain will heal with time,
but it’s never hurt this way.

Please put your arms around her,
and hug her one more time for me,
as our lives grow and change,
let her watch and see.

It all happened way too fast,
and we’re left here to ache and cry ,
we’ll meet again, but I didn’t know she was leaving,
so please tell her good bye.

I am not personally associated with anyone on the VT campus, but my emotions, thoughts and prayers are with each and every individual associated with this horrific day.  I am appalled by the negative reaction, by some, concerning the actions of the campus police and administration.  After considerable review, I believe the campus police and administration did an EXCELLENT job considering the situation at the time.  I am offended by the media and various individuals consistently asking the “what if’s” and “why not’s” concerning this situation.  We can always look back and ask those questions...DON’T ASK OR SECOND GUESS at this point.  I am proud of the VT administration, campus security and community police department.  Can we just be thankful for the professionalism and heriosm these indivudals have demonstrated during a very intense time.  Many, many more fatalities could have happened on this dreadful day...let us set blame from our leaders aside.  God Bless All of Us during this difficult time!!!

My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and friends of the victims, and to all the faculty, staff, and students at VT. From the other VT (state of Vermont), we are all Hokies today.

Many blessings to you. You gave us strength today as I watched the people in the coliseum stand and chant “Let’s Go Hokies!” and the wave of thousands of candles at the vigil tonight, “we are...Hokies...we are...Hokies.” And yes, you are, and lean on each other: friends, family, and the strength and belief in your god, whatever that may be.

My tears flow with yours. There is no way to put a price on human life. I pray for all of you. I pray God surrounds you with angels to help you cope with such a tragic loss. Let no one tell you how to grieve. Cry when you need to cry, write when you need to write, pray when you need to pray. We all express loss in our individual ways. Follow your way until you are free of tears and then laughter returns as you remember the joy and hope these innocent human beings gave. We are all connected as a human race.  God speed. Thirty years ago VT and Blacksburg was a wonderful place with a caring community. It’s grown in size tremendously, and yet obviously is still as close-knit and caring as I remember. Keep the good memories close to your hearts; they can be the heart’s only solace sometimes.

I was an engineering student, and resided at West Ambler Johnston.

Keep the faith, keep an open mind, forgive and let us all help each other carry this burden of pain ... together we can carry on.

Wounds bled
Tears shed
The greatest courage
is just to keep going on.
One day at a time may be too much to endure.
One hour at a time seems too long.
One minute at a time will have to be the goal for now.

To the students, faculty and staff of Virginia Tech--and especially their families:

There are no adequate words to ease your pain and sorrow; we pray our Lord comforts you and gives you strength.  Know millions of Americans--and countless millions more around the world mourn the loss of so many lives.  Yet we celebrate the joy they brought to your campus, their families, friends, and communities.

Though we can’t know your pain we pray you are left cherished memories of those lost in this tragic event and may time bring healing to all those wounded in mind, body or spirit.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Yours very sincerely and respectfully

As proud members of the Hokie Nation our hearts are broken. Our daughter graduated from VT in 1999, and VT is deep in our soul.  We still travel for 5 hours each way to every home football game, if we need a place to just “get away” we go to Blacksburg, it is our peaceful place.  We love the Virginia Tech Community, the town of Blacksburg, and the Hokie Nation.  We are all family.  Now is the time for us to lean on each other, and pray for the innocent victims of yesterday’s tragedy, their families, and their friends.  There are 32 special angels watching over our beloved Virginia Tech, and they will never be forgotten.
