With shock and horror and utter disbelief, the grim news of Mondays shooting rampage has kept me transfixed to my television screen.  As the sheer magnitude of the unfolding horror as been shown on tv, the amazing courage, compassion of this devested university community has shown through the blackness.  Please know that all the victums, along with their families and the whole university community of Virginia Tech are in my thoughts and ongoing prayers. Please allow the good thoughts and prayers coming your way to bear you all up even when you can not do this on your own.

I am up late, missing sleep again, watching news of the tragedy.  I can only imagine what it is like for all of you at VT and for all of the families.  I attend Florida State University and today I wore maroon and orange to school for you.  I was a Hokie today.  I plan to wear maroon and orange again on Friday for you.  As I sat in class, I tried to imagine what you all went through yesterday, especially those of you who were in Norris Hall.  I cannot even imagine.  I know that the VT community will pull through this.  You have a strong, rich history, and this incident will not change that.  You will see what special people Hokies are, as you use this tragedy to pull together and support one another.  God bless you today and always.

To the Virginia Tech students, faculty and everyone else affected by this horrible tragedy,
I’m joining the tons of other people out there lifting you all up in my thoughts and prayers. I’m a believer in Jesus Christ and I believe that even in spite of a tragedy as horrible as this one is, that there is still hope. The Bible tells us that everything works together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28) and I believe that. Even when something as senseless and heartbreak as this happens. There is still hope and I have faith that you all will pull through this. Watching the news today I can already see how much strength and love is in your community and that’s such a blessing. May all the people who were killed be able to rest in peace and may they never be forgotten. Go Hokies!

I would just like to say how sorry I am that this tragedy has occurred at Virginia Tech.  I will pray for the victims, their families, and all members of the VT community.  As a college student, I cannot imagine what the entire situation must have been like.  Sadly, it seems a situation like this is very difficult to prevent.  But for now, I hope everyone can heal.  VT will be in my thoughts for quite a while.

I have never been to Virginia Tech. I don’t know anyone who has ever gone there. About 6 months ago my twin brother died in a motorcyle accident. We were only 28 years old. It was the third death in my immediate family in the past three years. My prayers and thoughts are with all who have lost at Virginia Tech. Take advantage of the counseling and services available to you. It does help. Take the time to help out your friends and family during this time. Keep hope in your hearts.

As an alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh, I know that I speak for all of my fellow alumni in expressing my sincerest condolences to all of the fine students, faculty, and alumni of Virginia Tech. I cannot possibly fathom what it must be like for those directly affected by this unspeakable act of violence. I cannot say that I know how you feel. Because I do not. It would be simply unfair to say otherwise. I do, however, know that I, like many across the nation, have felt nothing but sorrow since learning of the tragedies yesterday. Shock, grief, anger, and dispair are all emotions that I imagine the entire Virginia Tech community is feeling right now. And you are right to feel that way. Remember, however, that amidst the wave of turbulent emotions you are experiencing, you have the entire support of a nation that is grieving right along with you.
It will now our responsibility, collectively, to carry on the legacy and fulfill on the immense promise these fine students and people left behind. And as time marches forward, you can be sure that we will never forget to do so.

Words cannot possibly describe the sadness and grief that the students, faculty and staff of Virginia Tech are going through.  Our prayers are with you.  I walked into a student lounge at SMU / Perkins School of Theology today to get a cup of coffee and discovered a group of about 15 students sitting around a large table praying aloud for you.  Our classes are praying for yours.  May God give you strength, peace, and hope.  You are loved…
