Dear Hoakies,

Corrie ten Boom said:

“When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don’t throw away the ticket and try to get off. You sit still and trust the engineer.”

Right now, God is the engineer for everyone at Virginia Tech.  As tough as it may be, and as long as it may take, I pray you’ll find strength in God, and allow him to bring you through this horrific and very dark tunnel.

With all my prayers,
-Dan

Dear Family Members and Friends,

My heart was broken by the events of this week. I know losing a family member is very hurtful. We don’t understand why God has chosen our love one but I’ve come to understand they are in far better place where they will hurt no more nor want for anything. Remember God hears all unspoken words and heals all broken hearts.

God Bless,

I SEND MY FAITH, LOVE, HOPE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, LONGSUFFERING WITH JOYFULNESS, FORGIVENESS, JOY, PEACE, MEEKNESS, GENTLENESS AND CONTROL TO ALL THE FAMILIES OF VT AND ALL THOSE WHO ARE PRAYING FOR YOUR FAITHFULNESS, CONCERN AND LOVE. THE DICIPLES SAID, LORD INCREASE OUR FAITH. JESUS SAID IF YOU FORGIVE 7 TIMES 7 A DAY. YOUR FAITH IS A SERVANT AND SPEAK TO THE SYCAMORE TREE AND IT HAS TO OBEY YOU. FORGIVENESS IS APART OF GROWING UP IN LOVE. GOD IS LOVE. YOU PLANT THAT SEED AND WATERED IT. THE SEED WILL GROW UP AND BECOME HOW EVER GREAT AS NEEDS TO BECOME. WE PLANT IT WITH THE WORDS WE SAY AND THOUGHT LIFE. FAITH WILL GROW TO THE ROOTS. LUKE 17 THE SERVANT SERVED THE MASTER. DID THE MASTER SAY THANK YOU? NO,WHY, IT WAS THE SERVANTS DUTY JUST AS FAITH HAS TO OBEY US WHEN WALK IN LOVE. IF YOU LAY YOUR FAITH DOWN THE DEVIL WILL SLAP KICK YOU. AND RUN OVER YOU. DON’T LET YOUR FAITH BE IDLE. GET RIGHT BACK IN FAITH, LOVE AND FORGIVENESS AND PUT GOD FIRST PLACE AND DON’T BLAME GOD. satan IS HERE TO STEAL, KILL AND DESTROY BUT JESUS CAME TO GIVE YOU A ZOIE LIFE.

On behalf of myself and my students this quarter at Cal Poly State University, I would like to express our deepest sympathies to everyone in the Virginia Tech community and will hold you all close in our hearts as everyone moves through the grieving process.  Members of the Virginia Tech community have demonstrated a strength and wisdom that is indescribable in the face of such a horrific series of events. The news of the tragedy at Virginia Tech has hit alot of people hard.  Unfortunately in this day and age it could have happened anyplace at any time.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the Hokie Nation.....students, faculty, the community, and others that are hurting by this horrible tragedy.  My heart goes out to everyone involved.  I know that nothing we say or do can ease the pain of what you are all going through. Stand strong in your numbers and comfort each other.  I have been deeply moved by the whole situation. I wore your colors today in support of your grief.

Before Monday, I had no connection to Virginia Tech.  But as a long-time Virginia resident, and a graduate of a Virginia public university, after seeing the events transpire that day, I want the entire Hokie nation to know that you have become my family, my friends, and my community.  Though I knew none of the victims, I have cried for them and grieved for them.  I feel so much sorrow for the victims and their families, as well as the entire mourning VT community.  Please know that all of Virginia, and all of the world, is standing by you in your time of need and is there to support you however possible.  May love heal your hearts.  For today, and from this day on, we are all Hokies.

First of all I want to say that I don´t really have words for it as I guess that there are no words to express the whole tragedy at all.

I have to say that my prays, tears and thinkings are with the ones who lost relatives and friends and of course I´m also thinking of the people who were hurt and (thanks God) survived.

You all will keep the ones you loved (and still love) and lost in your memories and hearts and so they will live on in a special way.

As someone who truly believes in God I also want to say that you will see each other again one day for sure.

I will close with a saying from my home of Germany:

“Whenever a nice and innocent person has to die at a young age then God must have great plans for her/his after-earth-life.”

Please Lord protect all those who were killed and give them the chance to at least on someway fulfill all what they were so tragically stripped off on Monday morning.

I wish you (students & staff) and your university all the best on the further ways. Please stick together like you already do now!!!

May such a tragedy never happen again.

With condolences from my very true heart,

Christian Mohr

I would like to convey my prayers and condolences to the families and victims of this terrible tragedy. I am a proud alumnus of Virginia Tech, Industrial Enginering Class of 1967. As I watched the events of this week unfold on the beautiful campus that I called home for 4 years, I could not believe this could occur in Blacksburg, VA. I am, however, more proud than ever to be a Hokie. I am confident that Virginia Tech will become even stronger and more sought out as a University in the future.

I know that there are no words that can adequately express the shock and the sadness experienced by the US and by the school, let alone the student who lived through all of the life threatening situations. To All Affected by the Tragedy;

This message is from my Mom, my brother, as well as myself.  We live near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but that does not mean that we were not affected by the massacre at your institution...not at all!  We have two cousins & a friend that either work or are students at Virginia Tech...all are safe.  We cannot express enough sympathy for the terrible tragedies that took place on your campus earlier this week!  Please know that our friends & families will continue to pray for all of you, the uninjured, the injured & the dead (except the murderer!).  Although we have never been to Virginia Tech, we love you all & will keep each & every one of you in our prayers!  God Bless You All & I definitely believe that you will all heal & be stronger than ever & Virginia Tech will be stronger & better than ever!  Again, God Bless You All!
