Condolences, April 20, 2007

My husband and I would like to express our condolences to those families affected, as well as all those in the “Tech Family”.

I found two songs of comfort that are by the Celtic Woman, A New Journey. They are, Prayer and Blessings.

I hope that they will help you heal in this terrible time.

Condolences from a prof at the University of South Alabama. I’m a Jag, but today I’m a Hokie.
If only all my profound feelings of sorrow and shock could transform, take flight, and embrace all of you who seek comfort!
All of you who survived that terrible day will, in time, move on and continue the great adventure of life. But you will not forget, for you will be stronger, and you will be wiser. Until then, be patient as you grieve and heal. For you do not grieve alone.

Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for the families and friends of the victims, as well as the faculty and staff at VT. My heart aches for you all. I grieve for the wonderful people who were victims, pray for those who were injured during this tragedy, and understand the loss of innocence never to be regained. The fallen are the heros, as well as those who tried to prevent further loss of life. To those who witnessed these tragic events, may the Lord give you healing, peace and comfort.  All of those impacted will forever be in our thoughts and prayers.

You will never forget, and as time marches on, it will forever remain a poignant memory for the Hokie Nation.

May God bless you and keep you.  Allow Him to carry you during this difficult time just as in ‘Footprints in the Sand’.

We are deeply saddened, sickened, and frightened over this tragedy. We will not presume to understand the heartache and emptiness you feel; we are so very sorry for your losses. We pray to the Gods that you will one day find even a hint of solace. Uniquely innocent, promising, brilliant, vibrant lives, lost in a moment of sheer iniquity. Never to be replaced, never to be forgotten; forever loved. They are all in the best of company now, with so many heroic and innocent who were lost before them. Excruciatingly missed; however painstakingly difficult it may be to comprehend at this most dreadful time, they are in a better place and will one day be reunited with their loved ones for eternity. May peace be with you.

With most heartfelt condolences,

dear V Tech students
hi, i just recently had a lost and i know it isn’t easy. I wish you a time of forgiveness and I hope you try to stay strong at this hard time my favorite qoute is “live life to its fullest or dont live at all” and “lifes to short to do nothing so go out and have fun” and its sad but its true. My dad died at age 38, because of a heart attack. THis happened March 2, 2007. His birthday was supposed to be April 16th. It was hard especially having this happened the same day so i hope you can work your way through this slowly but surely and my prayers are with you at this harsh time

As the mother of a 1999 Virginia Tech graduate and a child of Christiansburg mother and Roanoke father, my heart has been and will ever be in Blacksburg and alongside the Hokie Community.  Form the time I was a little girl watching Va Tech play football and hearing stories about their “big” games at Victory Stadium in Roanoke, I never could have loved any school any more than VPI.  I have watched with the news reports tearfully from the first moment the news broke and cannot begin to express my feelings.  My heart goes out to the families that were so directly affected by this tragedy.  I pray that each and every one of you will feel the power of the Lord and know that he will comfort you during this time.  I am so proud to call myself a Hokie and know that as was said, you will prevail.  God Bless.

I am truly saddened by the events of this week.  In a world where we watched Columbine on TV and the Twin Towers fall we would hope to avoid a tragedy as great as this.  My prayers and support go out to all of the victims and their families and I hope that they can find peace within themselves after such a horrid event.  We must learn from this as we have from other such incidents and grow from this.  My love and faith go to the people of VT and their families, staff, students, etc.  Be strong and live life as if there were no tomorrow - live it for those who will not have the chance to live . . . and for those who are afraid to live.

I am currently stationed overseas in Africa so you can imagine how I felt when the news hit here. It hurt me that I could not be there to support those who needed it. I love that school and everything about it. VT was my first choice of schools. I had a deep passion for going there. I would defend the school anytime would bash it and I wasn’t even a student. This tragedy has hit me hard. It’s hateful actions has soiled a beautiful scene. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. This was senseless. I love everyone of you guys. We will see you again. No matter where you are, or what school you attend, today we are all Hokies.
