I’ve never met anyone who goes to Virginia Tech, but I’ve nevertheless been affected by this in a way I wouldn’t have imagined. I cried reading the Virginia Tech tragedy site, and I can only imagine the emotions of those on the campus and their families. May you all stay strong. You’re in the hearts and minds of all of us.

God bless and place His merciful hand on all affected. Your neighbours to the north share your bewilderment, pain, fear, confusion and anger. Grieve but continue on for you know your friends/classmates/flatmates r cheering you on in spirit. And just to let you know, Canada is taking notice and learning from this to honour those who have bn so violently taken. Our RCMP, provincial and city police and learning facilities are quickly combing lists to identify at-risk individuals so as to avert a similar act. Im pleased with this progress but saddened it took 32 deaths of faculty and students for anyone to acknowledge there is a potential in ANY learning facility! I pray for all to heal and live the rest of your lives as they would have! And I pray that the wisdom you gain from this, you use with persistance and grace throughout the rest of your life. All the best Hokies!!! Love, Lori

I am halfway across the country and don’t know a single person in Virginia. But, as a 22 year old college student who is going to graduate in three weeks like many of the victims were, this tragedy has hit close to home. All of the victims and their family and friends are in my prayers and thoughts. Just know that the whole world is behind you, so don’t lose faith in humanity. We are here for you. Although we don’t know why He took 32 people in such a tragic way, stay close to Him and know that He has a plan for each and every one of us. Today, and forever, we are all Hokies!

My husband and I are both Tech alumni.  This doesn’t make us any more or any less affected by the events that took place on Monday.  Friends are calling to see if “we” are okay.  It could have happend anywhere.  Unfortunately it happened on our beautiful, beloved campus.  I cannot imagine what you all are going through - students, families, faculty, officers, rescue and hospital personnel, residents.  I just want you to know that we love you, admire your composure, your faith, your maturity, your attitude that you WILL persevere.  You are, after all, HOKIES.

God bless you all.

I am so sorry for all who have lost.  We are all in this together.  I am an ODU grad and have been to the VT campus. What a beautiful place.  Sadly, the sick perpetrator’s “manifesto” complained of self-absorbed hedonistic members of our society, while at the same time he was emphatically focused on himself.  Me me me me is a common thread throughout his rage expressions.  I will be showing my support by wearing a VT cap for golf and a VT shirt.  Love, Bill

We pray for all families touched by this tragedy.  We pray for the souls of the fallen.  we pray for the devastated.

No matter what the focus of the media is, it is the 32 loved ones who will be remembered and cherished.

When our young sons attend VA Tech (as is the family tradition), they WILL know the names of the 32 loved ones.  They, and others, will know the story and remember those who were loved and cherished.  We will be there!

As for the terribly sick individual without a conscience or a Lord… I can only pray for the deliverance of all persons who could walk that path or relate to that isolation and meaninglessness.

Let us look around, relate to one another, share God’s love… openly and without reservation… particularly those who feel loss and suffer from isolation.
