Condolences, April 19, 2007

Sometimes,
the world stops.
One word.
One warning.
One shot
to stop the unstoppable.

Sometimes,
there are no words.
No comfort.
No reason.
No why
this had to happen.

Sometimes,
one voice changes everything.
Someone suffocated.
Someone denied.
Someone crucified
by his own mind.

There was no chance.
No savior.
No escape
from the end that was designed.

Yet, life begins as others’ ends.
A united force,
joined against the sorrow
blindly forced upon them.

Sometimes,
the world begins again.
Healing, and
loving, and
praying
for strength that seems so distant.

But we cling together.
Strength amongst our nation.
Strength amongst our family.
Strength amongst our colors.

Maroon and orange shall burn
even after light has extinguished.
Never forgotten.
Not for the violence,
but for the strength.

My heart and the hearts of my family go out to the families and victims of this horrific tragedy.  Our hearts also go out to those who have survived this tragedy.  Being the mother of young adults who recently graduated college, I cannot imagine the anguish you are feeling.  I don’t know how I would console the surviving victims except to extend my arms and hold you close to me.  A college is a wonderful place for growth of our young adults. A place to find out who you are becoming.  Unfortunately, you have been struck with a huge curve in your road, however, through your own strength and the strength of us who will hold you ever so tightly in our hearts, you will survive and become a better person because of this outcome.  Do not allow this tragedy to overtake you.  Stay focused and stay positive.  It is with love I say these words.  Take one day at a time and remember your friends, let their legacy be a part of who you are.  May God Bless Virginia Tech, the faculty, the maintenance people, the police, the medical workers but most of all may God Bless the future Virginia Tech student graduates who will help form the world we all wish to exist in.  Again, God Bless you all.

My deepest sympathy to the families of those deceased and the wounded. Our hearts cry aloud for you and our tears shed in sorrow. We as a family are praying for everyone, for the sadness that will never be forgotten and for the strenght that all our families will continue to need. Heaven’s Gate by Unknown

“Heaven’s gate swung gently open,
The Master called softly, “Come,”
And you, dear one, took the Master’s hand,
And your work on earth was done.
We’ll never cease to miss you,
And shed many silent tears,
Because we cannot share with you
Our hopes, our joys, our fears.
But one day, in God’s garden,
When the Master calls us to come.
You’ll be at the gates with open arms
And say to us, “Welcome Home”

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

As the Aunt of two Hokies (a VT freshman and a recent VT graduate), I send my thoughts and prayers to the entire Hokie community… friends, family and faculty.  We learned very early in the day that my nephew was safe in his dorm, but still watched the events unfold in horror.  I wish you all the very best as you continue to heal… lean on each other!

My name is Willie, I am not a student at any school, but now I would like to be a HOKIE.  I cant express the pain, sadness and emptyness that this has left me with.  When I am upset I listen to music so I leave you with one of my favorite songs and pretty much how this has left me........

“Broken”

I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph, I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away

The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
There’s so much left to learn, and no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

[x2]
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away…

to all the survivors and victims familys i mourn with you, and keep you in my thoughts

There aren’t enough words to express how sorry I am for everyone that has had to experience such an unfair and tragic event. My name is Tarin, I live in Bertrand, Nebraska, I am a Husker fan. I am a single parent, I just graduated from Colorado Technical University Online with a bachelors in Criminal Justice. I find it so unfair that these students never got a fair chance to experience college life or even graduate like some were preparing to do. College is suppose to be fun while still bettering yourself, these people didn’t deserve to have their lives taken from them for no reason, they were doing what I did but at an earlier stage in life then I did, I took some time off to have my son but these individuals never had the chance because of this horrifying cop out act. My son Ethan and I want to let everyone know at Virginia Tech, and the families of the victims, that you are all in our prayers.

MY CONDOLENCES AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE FRIENDS AND FAMILIES OF THESE FALLEN HEROS.

I AM A MEMBER OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY AND THIS SITUATION BROUGHT ME TO MY KNEES WITH SORROW. I AM DEEPLY SADDEN AND SOMBER OVER THIS TRAGEDY. IM SORRY THAT THIS HAD TO HAPPEN TO YOUR LOVED ONES. I PRAY THAT YOU ALL WILL GET THROUGH THIS AND GROW CLOSER AS FAMILY.

THE SAD PART ABOUT THIS IS THAT IT CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE TO ANYONE. THIS WORLD IS GROWING MORE AND MORE OUT OF CONTROL AND WE HAVE INNOCENT PEOPLE DIEING. WHEN WILL IT STOP?? HOW MANY LIVES DO WE HAVE TO LOSE?? ITS RIDICULOUS THAT WE CANNOT GO TO OUR SCHOOLS, GAS STATIONS, SHOPPING CENTERS, ETC WITHOUT WONDERING WHAT MANIAC IS GOING TO ATTACK.

LETS ALL COME TOGETHER AND JOIN HEARTS AND MINDS IN PRAYER AND FORGIVE THOSE WHO ACT ON IMPULSE AND MOURN THOSE WHO RISKED THEIR LIVES TO HELPED THEIR FELLOW MAN.

Dear All Virginia Tech

My heart goes out to you all ...  As a former student at Texas A&M University I have seen and been part of a University wide tragedy.  My deepest thoughts are with you at your time of grieving.  You are showing tremendous dignity, your unity in this pain is obvious but your school spirit soars even higher with pride.  Be strong in one another, your fallen will be rightly imortalized, and you will be bound forever by these events.  Be strong, be proud, be VT.  May God bless you all.

Life takes us through some ups and downs, and I urge the Virginia Tech Hokies to be strong and fight the urge to be scared.  Being scared makes evil stronger.  To the families that lost one of the most valuable people to you, I pray God gives you the strength to get through this tough time.

I share with all the tragic loss of young people and their teachers...I shed tears on my way to work....and i wonder how such an individual as the perpetrator was allowed to stay in the university as a student when so much was known of him and that one of his teachers had informed the administration...either he goes, or i go…
a sad commentary....someone will have to answer that question.
