Condolences, April 19, 2007

I am truly sorry for the losses of the friends, family, and faculty of the victims of this tragedy. I am sorry for Cho, that he was so mentally ill that he thought this was the only way out. Love and light to all of you, both living and deceased. We’re all a part of each other and it’s time we start acting like it.

Penn Stater but long-time Virginia resident just wanting to pass along my sympathies and prayers.  May the memories of their lives and the value they added to their family and friends’ lives ultimately bring comfort and not pain - for it is through those memories that they will continue to live on in everyone’s hearts.

As an alumnus of the university and as an ordained minister, I am doubly saddened by the events of April 16.  I want everyone on campus and members of the families and friends of the victims to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, even though I cannot be there in person.  Your time of healing will not be an easy one.  My special prayer for each of you is that as you come to terms with what has happened you be surrounded by the love of others and stay wrapped in the embrace of a loving Creator.

My heart goes out to all the mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters of the people who lost their lives.  It isnt a justification but it was there time and god knows best.  I hope everyone prays that they have a peaceful afterlife and that their sins are forgiven by the almighty.

I also hope that the parents and family of the killer also can come to terms with what has happened, they must not be blamed for the actions of their son, just like any other mother and father they would have wanted to live to see their son grow up and be happy not to end his and others lives in this way.

It may be time for America to review its gun laws, it seems wrong to me that anyone can just buy a gun, I also hope that the route cause of this tragedy is brought to light and that lessons are learnt from it.

Again my heart goes out to all those that are suffering.

May God Be With You

Best Regards

I graduated two years ago but in many ways Tech is still my home.  It is the safe happy place where many of my friends still live.

To have lost one of my friends there is still unbelievable.  It is still hard to think that she will never be online again.  She will never be at another TKD Halloween party.  She is gone.

I know one day things will be right again.  Until then I only hope that everyone affected by this tragedy has friends and family they can turn to for strength and comfort.

We must be thousands of miles apart, yet I shed your tears, I feel your sarrow, and my heart aches as yours does.  In know way can I know exactly what you feel, but because we are apart of this same great nation, and because I am a human being, I am feeling the pain. With every image on t.v. my heart feels just a little more broken.  As I sit here trying to explain to my 2 year old daughter why tears are running down my face, I look into her eyes and thank God that she doesn’t yet understand the depths of this tragedy, and pray that she never has to.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and and with all the hearts that lay within your college community. May you find the face of God during a time in which it is so difficult.

It saddens my heart to know that something this horrendous could happen in the world that we live in everyday of our lives. I’d ask God why but even He would not know the answer because this is something not of his doing but of evil.
My heart goes out to all the people affected by this tragic event and pray that you all find the strength to somehow overcome this.
To all the families, I can’t imagine what you may be feeling.  You will always be in my prayers and in my heart.  You all lost beautiful people who will all live on through each of your memories.  God Bless all of you.

A poem:"Farewell our friend, but not goodbye. Your time has come, your soul must fly. To dance with angels, find the sun, but how we’ll miss our special one.

He walks among us just a while, weaved your magic, made us smile. Your life was so full of light and tears, we lived it through you, through the years.

“The golden days, they went so fast. The precious times, why can’t they last? So many loved you, did you know? We were not ready to let you go.

“The stars from Heaven are only lent. A gift from God, that’s why they’re sent. We won’t forget our Belfast boy, he filled our lives with so much joy. Your star will shine now in the
sky. Farewell our friend, but not goodbye.”

My greatest sympathy from me and all then northern irish people, You are in our thought’s and prayers. God bless

To the Virginia Tech family,

We are so very, very sorry for your tragedy and your loss.  It’s hard to understand why death can be so senseless sometimes or why people do the things that they do.  Be strong and turn to each other for strength and remember that time can heal all wounds. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always.
