My deepest sympathies go out to all of the families and friends who lost loved ones on Monday.  I hope you can take some comfort knowing that they are in a better place, a safer place. I am still shocked that all of this has happened.  I am not a hokie...but my heart aches for the VA Tech family, I have read a lot on the internet and watched the news and I find myself sitting there crying. I hope that our country learns something from this tragic event.  Be strong hokies, be strong, the entire nation is behind you.  And I will be wearing Maroon & Orange tomorrow to support you!

The thoughts and prayers of my entire family here in Indiana are with all of you.  My niece graduated from VT just 3 years ago.  I visited your campus when she graduated and was so impressed with the people I met, the graduation speeches given, and the things I saw.

Keep praying and stay strong.  You will persevere!

As a one-time college student, it pains me to see students as well as professors dedicated to academic sucess taken so needlessly on your campus.  My thoughts and prayers are with you as you deal with this horrific tragedy.  Also, I graduated from Cal State Long Beach, where your mens basketball coach, Seth Greenberg made his first mark in his coaching career.  Coach Greenburg, I saw you on Jim Rome’s show and you showed dignity as you descibed what it was like for you that Monday. Close to the heart is a secret place
Where dreams are stored away,
And sturdy candles of faith are kept
Against a darker day.

And there, too, are the memories
The laughter shared, the tears,
The little things that mean so much,
Seen through the mist of years.

Our dearest wishes, deepest loves,
The burdens that we bear
The essence of our being lies
In what we harbor there.

To each his own, a hideaway
That has no counterpart,
The treasure house of the soul that lies
Somewhere close to the heart.

We here at Ferris State University send our thoughts and prayers to all at Virginia Tech

FAMILLIES AND STUDENTS OF VIRGINIA TECH,

I AM AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AT NORTHAMPTON COM. COLLEGE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. YOU ARE ALL IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. TAKE HEART AND KNOW THAT YOUR LOST LOVED ONES ARE WALKING WITH YOU AND ARE LOOKING DOWN UPON YOU.  THE ONLY WEAPON TO FIGHT THIS IS TO TURN TO THE LORD.  MAY THEIR SOULS REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.  I LOVE YOU ALL.

Please remember that we are praying for all you.
A poem by Clay Harrison:
Requiem
The mem’ries always linger
In the shadows of the mind.
The pain is always present
As life and death unwind.
The past is not forgotten
When it’s a part of you
And a torch burns for others
Whose dreams did not come true.
It hurts to lose a loved one
Whose flower never bloomed,
But dreams can be reborn
If by you they are assumed.
The flame of life may flicker
Or become mere residue,
But it cannot be extinguished
If it brightly burns in you.

Having read the news reports on the very sad events and the terrible loss of life i felt I must share my thoughts & support with the family and friends of the dead.

As an engineer reading that so many of the students and teachers were also doing engineering made it all very real and close.

God bless you all and lets hope something like this never happens again.

When we had 30+ people murdered by a gunman in Australia our political leaders had the strength and courage to tighten gun laws - I hope your politicans show similar leadership.
