Condolences, April 19, 2007

While I pray for those lost at VT, I know they are “home” with the Father.  I have special prayers for the families of those who lost someone.  I pray that Gods’s grace and peace will embrace them and that they may feel his presence.  The parents and loved ones should be proud of those lost.  If they are anything like the students we’ve seen on TV, the country has lost precious and wonderful talents and citizens.  As a university instructor, I’m going to go “hug” all my students today.  Shirley Barthelme, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Il.

My family and I were deeply sadened when we saw what happened on your campus.  I hugged my kids because at that very point I realized how fragile life is.  Please be strong and take strength in knowing that the nation is thinking of you. God Bless....

My prayers go out to the victim’s families and friends, as well as all of Virginia Tech students and faculty.  The interviews I’ve been watching on the news nearly broke my heart as I watched many people fighting back tears to tell their story and give the rest of America some insight on this horrible tragedy.  I was disgusted to see the NBC tapes being played over and over, on what seemed every channel.  The strength you have all displayed inspires me, and I admire you.  You have come together as a campus and united to support eachother.  God bless all of you!

As parents of a college freshman at Lehigh University, we send our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the stricken at Virginia Tech.  Every family of a college student feels extra aware and sensitive to your pain.  We know that words cannot take it away. Rest assured that prayers are being said in all corners of the country and world. We wish you peace and love during this most difficult time.

Words can hardly express how tragic and sad this event is.  I worked and lived not far from Columbine HS, and felt/feel tremendous grief for the innocent lives lost, the families forever changed, then..and now, with Virginia Tech.  You will remain in my prayers and thoughts, always.

I know no one at Virginia Tech, though I’m sure some of my classmates from Nelson County High School attended there in the past.  I could not, however, go without letting the surviving faculty, students, and families know that I am praying for all of you.  Such a tragic circumstance has brought everyone together.  Please know that God is with each of you, and He will help you now in your time of need.  May He bless you always.

My daughter and I attended the Prospective Students Program on Sunday April 15th.  We were once again impressed with the campus, and with the faculty and students that we came in contact with.  We heard of the tragic events on Monday on our way home and we were shocked and saddened.  Our hearts ached for all of you.  Stay strong and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

i am sorry for the killing but i know its gonna happen agian all we have to do is find them before it happens im sorry but this is what i think. every one knows this will now be the end and theres going to be more people who are going to bring guns, knifes, or other weapons to school. I think these kids need to get help! I think another reason is kids bullying other kids. theres alot of peer presure in school and bullying and harrasment! these kids dont know the pain the causeing on other kids. I think this kid was getting bullied not liked and he got crazy for it. well im a 13 y.o in 8th grade. i know how it feels to be harrased. well thank you for taking time to read my thoughts cause this is what i think and i thibk its true and if its not then the kid most of had mental issues.

im sorry,

i feel really bad for the people that had to get killed by that freak. he could have been taking care of but he wasnt. also what happened there could have never been predicted. what happened to the boy there was all his decision. you people at the college could have helped him if someone would have noticed him. also how he was acting. i feel really sad for alll the victims of the massacre. they had no warning sign in order to leave the school or atleast get help or in a safe place. also people could have helped him because of the way he was acting also by the way that he was going around and wandering off.
