I wasnt related to anyone in this shooting, or have any friends who attend Virgina Tech. That dosent change the fact that i have lost teammates and friends to the columbine shooting. I know exactly what it feels like to ask why. So this comment goes out to all of you that lost family. To all of you that lost a friend. I will not let anyone forget these terrible displys of human behavior. We will not forget those lost, or why it happened. More will be done to watch for those such as the gunman who cried for help many times but was forgotten and ignored. This will not blow over in 2 weeks or even 2 months. I will remeber Virgina Tech, and what happened inside your doors and those that died.

Dear Staff & Students at VT and all the families,

It may be hard to understand this horrible tragedy, but your loved ones who were taken from you are resting at peace with God.  As the parent of a child who will soon be attending college, I can only imagine your sorrow.  Try to stay strong and take comfort from the world-wide prayers that are being said for you.  Our prayers are also with you.

My prayers are with you all.  This could have happened at any University.  Madmen such as this are almost unstoppable in a free society such as our.  This is not a nationality issue or a gender issue....just some evil, violent, delusional person.  It did happen at VT and you have shown the world how strong you are.

God Bless!

There is no sense to be made of such anger and evil.  We must do our best to honor those who suffered in this tragedy.  We must do our best to remember, learn and live so that the spirit of the innocent victims never fades.

You came into this world
A few privileged knew you
Now you are gone.
But you are not alone
I am there, your fellow Hokies are there, the world is there
And we all noticed that you left.

My deepest condolences,

God bless you all.  May you all be protected by angels and your beautiful campus be restored to the loving, peaceful, fun, and beautiful place it has been.  I had the extraordinary priviledge of visiting your campus last weekend, and was welcomed into all the “Hokie” love as if I was a Hokie as well.  Thank you for being such wonderful people.  I am deeply shocked and sorry for your loss.  May you all be blessed with the courage and strength to go on.  Love, Laurel (girlfriend to a fellow Hokie bird).

Dear Va Tech family

I am a Penn State fan by trade, and I just can’t imagine what you are dealing with.  I know not one person who goes to Tech, yet I am so sad, that I find it hard to think.  I am a morning radio announcer and part of my job is to remain upbeat.  That has been difficult.  But, while I didn’t know anyone who attended or worked at the school, I would think they would want us to be strong and to keep going.  And to keep smiling.
Keeping a good thought for you all…

Steve

To the Students, Faculty and Adminstration,
I work at a large technical college in Columbia, SC. I can’t imagine something like what happened at Virginia Tech happening at our school.
A school is a unique place to work, I enjoy so much working with the students and our faculty. It would be so upsetting for anything to happen to anyone of them. We are a school family.
Everyone is praying for each of you and I know that God will provide the strength for each of you to go on. I was recently robbed and assaulted and I know what I have been going through. Please provide as many counselors that are possible to your students, faculty and administration. It is helping me as I know it will help each of you.
Just remember how much Jesus cared about all of us. He gave his life for us. Jesus was made in God’s image, so God is not a hurtful God. He is grieving for each of you and will provide strenght and healing. Just believe.

Sending thoughts and prayers to your day,
JN

To all the wonderful people at VT, may GOD wrap his Loving Arms around YOU, AND FOR ALL THOSE WONDERFUL ANGELES WHO HAVE PAST ON-YOUR WORK HERE IS DONE- WELCOME HOME-GOD SPEED.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
-Mary Elizabeth Frye
may god bless each and every one of you.

Through peak and trough of lives we fill,
Witness the breaking of our will,
Don’t piy us when fallen down,
We stand again with new strength found.

Behind us put the worst and yet,
Keep loved ones close lest we forget,
That those who brought us to our knee,
Shall not prevail for we are free.

As the parents of a Virginia Tech student, this tragedy has struck in a very personal way.  While it’s hard to imagine the emotion that precipated this senseless and uncaring act, its heartwarming to see the outpouring of love and support from around the world.  For those who have lost friends and loved ones, you have our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers.  May God be with you.  Gary and Linda

In college football, the Virginia Tech Hokies are one of West Virginia University’s most intense, hated opponents. Even though bitter sports rivals, there is a mutual respect that is undeniable. After the unthinkable happened April 16, 2007 on Virginia Tech’s beautiful campus, it’s easy to set aside that rivalry. Rivalries mean nothing.

My prayers are going out to those who’ve fallen, and their family and friends in this very hard time. I hope they know that they have the support of everyone, even those, who are usually considered ‘hated rivals’. I proudly display a VT ribbon in honor of Va. Tech.

On behalf of West Virginia & WVU, God Bless you.
