Words cannot express the profound sadness in my heart. I must believe that God needed these talented people with him for a purpose that we cannot see. I know they are all together now and are at true peace.

I hope that you find the strength to get over this terrible tragedy, the comfort of the memories that is now all what’s left of the lost and most of all...courage to go ahead, not just for the mourning but also for the innocent who lost their lives. I’m sure they would want you to go ahead.

I have been mourning the loss of those precious lives in the shooting.  I wrote an original song for the victims and families.  I would be honored if you linked to it.  I think it really says what people need to hear.

When I learned of the tragedy while it was occurring on your campus, I was in an instant taken back to my college days which weren’t all that long ago and I began to cry with the rest of you. I cannot begin to imagine the pain you are feeling, but I hope it helps to know that many across the country are thinking of you today and praying you find the strength to somehow move forward. May God bless each and every one of you.

This horrible act has shocked me to the core. Even though I am so far away, and have never been to Virginia, let alone the USA, I feel for every single person involved in this terrible ordeal. May the families who have lost their loved ones have enought strength to carry on, and may those who have been lost have eternal peace and happiness.

My condolences to all the Virginia Tech faculty and students, to those that lost family members and friends.  April 16, 2007 was a sad day for all.  Stay strong. Know that the world mourns with you.

I work at a school. After watching the coverage, the students now understand why we practice lockdowns. They never understood before. They do now. I know it doesn’t erase the pain the VT family is feeling, but this something positive to come out of this insanity.

My prayers are with you all.  I will be wearing the VT colors on Friday as the nation and world mourn with you.

May God bless each and everyone.

May God comfort you all during your time of grief and sorrow and grant you the peace and serenity to continue moving forward in pursuit of your education. Having close ties with Virginia Tech, as my brother attended the school ten years ago, I felt the need to express my heartfelt condolences to everyone at V-Tech. God bless you all.

Dear Students, Faculty and Families,
My community is devastated by all you have experienced and continue to experience as a result of this unbelievable act of violence. I’m sure there are no words to fully describe the depth of what you have all been going through. We send our prayers and heartfelt wishes for healing. If there is anything my family can do, please let us know. If there is anyone who feels they need to get away and has no where to go or needs a change of scenery and doesn’t have family, please contact me and my husband so we can perhaps give you temporary refuge. We will do whatever we can to help you get through this horrible time. Stay close to your supports. But if it should feel too overwhelming, please reach out for help. If not to friends and family, counselors and advisors, or your religious leaders, then please reach out to me and I promise to do whatever I can to help. No one should be alone during this time. Feel free to Email: kimnorgard@gmail.com. Peace be with you and God Bless.

"Lord make me the instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith, where there is despair, hope, where there is darkness, light, and where there is sadness, joy.”

“O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console, to be understood as to understand; to be loved, as to love; or it is giving that we receive it is in pardoning that we are pardoned and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.” - Authur unknown

Dear Students and Staff:

I also am a parent of college age children.  My heart goes out to what you have had to endure.  The days ahead will certainly be filled with sorrow as your friends and colleagues are laid to rest.  I am hoping that you will find comfort in knowing how many people throughout the nation share in your sorrow, and are thinking about you. I have been deeply saddened by the tragic events that took place on the VT campus.  My heart aches for those families who have lost a loved one.  You are constantly in my thoughts.....I wish I could offer more.  As alumni, it is also saddening that a wonderful school such as VT has been tarnished.  I truly believe that HOKIES will prevail.

With love and HOKIE pride,

I pray for all of you.  I pray the God of all
comfort will comfort you - that He will pour
out His peace, love and mercy across your campus.
Now is the time to cry out to the Lord - give
Him your pain, your sorrow, your anguish.  Let
Him be the lifter of your head.  Let Him take
hold of your life.  Let Him give you the peace
and hope that only He can give.  A peace and hope
that will last for eternity.  I pray this in
the name of Jesus.

I remember the days walking across the drillfield, sitting in classes, learning from brilliant professors, laughing with friends, cheering in the stands as the Hokies claimed another victory.  No matter what, these will always be my memories of VT, the place I called home.  Tech is a strong, Hokie-pride community.. you will see each other through this terrible time.  Please know that the VT family and the Blacksburg community are in the hearts of many around the country and the world.
