The years we spend at university are years we treasure for the rest of our lives.  In these years we strive academically, we thrive socially, and we begin to understand the world in which we live.  As students and alumni, we love our school and the community who embraces us; the community who cheers us on athletically, supports us as leaders and values our achievements. This most horrific tragedy will NOT change the greatness of your university and all that higher education stands for; the importance it serves. May God bless all who were lost and all who mourn. I know you will, in time, persevere. I am so, so sorry.

It is something that cannot be described by words.  It is something that none of us indirectly involved could begin to fathom.

I did want to comment on the fact of so much disrespect for such an event.  I see many YouTube, ... videos of recreations and whatnot that shouldn’t be.  The media has provided a lot of coverage but what hasn’t been done is the attempt to express how unbelievably wrong this is.  This is indescribably nothing to joke about.

Anywho…

Nothing anyone can say to the family and friends of victims that would take away such extreme levels of anger and remorse but keep plugging away at it in the best way you can.

To the Staff, Students, and Families

My thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you.  I am a teacher at a small town school and the children in my class are also praying for you.  I do not understand why this happened, but watching the news, you all are an example of strength and courage.  I hope somehow something good can come out of this tragedy.  One thing is clear:  You are Virginia Tech and I know that you will not allow one person to control your lives.  I know it will take time, but he will not win.

To Students, Staff, Families and friends of all
at V.P.I.,
Words cannot express how much all of you say
for V.P.I.  With young people as attractive,
intelligent, and as spirited, your school shouts
quality and gives me great hope for our tomorrows.  Needless to say, the staff members we
have heard from or, sadly, heard about couldn’t
be finer.
The discussions underway may bring many
better ways of doing things in the many
professions that come into play when such
challenges happen.  None of us will ever meet
all of the needs in ever-changing circumstances,
and everyone can contribute to improving the
network, technology and responses as needed.
May we proceed with gentleness and committment
to grow in both skill and grace in every field
implied by recent events.
Last, please accept my request to be part
of the Hokie Nation.  Your school is exceptional,
and all of you can be proud of that and much more.
I am praying for all of you, and I do not
forget to pray for Cho’s family who lives on
now with a burden unimaginable.

I’m not sure you get my thoughts here, but, I’ll post it again. I’m profoundly sorry about the tragedy, but, life goes on.  Personally, you have lost 33 students, including some faculty.  What matters now, improving security more.  I was part of my university here, Inter American, Metro Campus, student council.  I know, this event could’ve been prevented, but, VT didn’t do much.  My prayers goes to families and entire campus. God bless you! Jose Lopez.

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. The strength you have shown as a community and as a university in spite of the suffering that has been inflicted upon you is an inspiration to all of us. It is your strength of community that will help ease the pain and will part the clouds of evil to once again let the sun shine down on Virgina Tech.

” I’M NOT GONE”
Don’t cry for me ,
now that I am free.

Just look around anywhere,
and that is where I’ll be.

For I am the daylight ,
when the sun starts to rise.

I’m the bright rainbow,
you see with your eyes.

I’m the tiny raindrops,
that sprinkle in the wind.

I’ll always be here with you,
for there really is no end. I’m the dew that’s on the ground,
and the quietness all around.
Yes, I am so very happy,
with this new life I have found.

I’m the peaceful summer breeze,
that flows softly through the trees.

I’m the bluebird in the sky,
that sings with such ease.

Yes, I am so very happy,
so happy to be free.

Understand my family and friends
and don’t you cry for me.
