Condolences, April 18, 2007

I give my deepest condolences to everyone at Virginia Tech. I hope you all are able to find a way to carry on in your life. Find a way to move on and live the rest of your life they way you have planned it. Don’t let anyone, or anything bring you down. You are alive for a reason and that should give you the will to move on. This unfortunate incident should make you realize that life is too short to not live. There is a song that I love. I want to share a part of this song to all of you. It goes like this: “Always love? Hate will get you every time…”- Always Love; Nada Surf. Please, remember that line. Always love. No matter who hurt you, or made you mad. Hating people won’t get you anywhere in life. Hate is a weakness that drains out your life. If we all learned to love more than hate, maybe, just maybe people will think twice about murder, or war. Maybe someday we will see peace. Once we have peace in our hearts and mind, we will have peace on earth. Don’t let this incident drag your life down. This should be a wake up call to live your life.
I hope you all are doing well.
If anyone needs to talk, feel free to contact me on my myspace. www.myspace.com/lilpinkfairie18
God Bless!

Something so hard
goes straight to the soul;
it seems impossible to get over
and my heart is left with a big hole.

We are trying to be happy, wearing a smile;
but inside of us were all dying.
The world seems to be fading,
and we all just want to run and hide.

AND on the day this horrible shooting went around and thirty three died, a piece of me died too.

As a 1965 Graduate of Radford College, Last Class of Women’s Divion of VPI, I am so sorry this has happened at Virginia Tech.  A place my friends and I always viewed as community and a safe place in the world.  I know the bonds of friendship my college experience made.  My 7 college roommates and suitmates continue to get together 42 years after graduation, we share every thing and continue to have fun with one another!  People are always amazed we continue our friendship at this stage of our lives!  I know this bond is true at Tech with the currrent students.  Please take care of yourselves and seek any help you may need.

Hokies will recover but not forget this horrible act. I know Radford today also feels your pain, as we are very bonded!

What a senseless tragedy that has shattered the peaceful serenity of Virginia Tech.  My heart breaks for the families, friends and VT family.  Words are not enough, but I join in so many other alumni this week who are proudly wearing our Hokie colors, in remembrance and unity with the VT community.

Bad things happen to good people - please take time to heal, but please don’t let this take away the precious life you have and what God has intended for you to share.  By doing so - evil will win.

God Bless you all - may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

My prayer is that these events will move the hearts and the minds of students, teachers, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, relatives, neighbors, and strangers. But not just move, I pray that we will be pushed around a corner into a new understanding of what it is to be different and the same. I pray that we will be given a new way to walk down the street and see the others, not in fear but in love, respect, and dignity.

I pray this because I know that every life is Beautiful.

Blessed are the pure at heart, For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

After hearing about the tragedy we want the President to know we support his decisions. I hope he does not receive any more threats and rude calls. Hopefully whoever made the call can be arrested.
Our prayers go out to you and all of the college students and faculty.
I pray that everyone will have the strength to continue their daily lives in spite of such a tragedy. I also pray that the Lord will give all a spirit of peace and security so there is no more fear.

Dear Hokies,

To the families who have lost: May God ease your pain and suffering. Time will heal your wounds and fond memories will fill your hearts with gladness for the time you had…

The teacher(s) who stood in the gap for the students will be remembered as heros. Their lives were not in vain! My deepest sympothy goes to their family and their children.

To the friends, classmates, and facility: You now have memories, fears, frustations, sadness and grief....but you still have plenty to be thankful for. Reach out to Christ who also died, but was ressurected. God has a purpose for you and loves you just as must as He loves his Son. Keep the faith, or find the faith. He will help you through. May He bless you and keep you in his arms of love through this difficult time.

America and the rest of the world is mourning with you. We are people of great empathy… and can feel the pain too.

Sincerely,

Vivian (24)

I WILL KISS IT

They won’t let me see my daughter’s body.
There isn’t room for a viewing area,
and the forensics would be compromised.
So I wait, keeping her image alive through the long gray days,
through nights that blossom like black poisonous orchids.

There she lies, naked on a stainless metal tray,
her black Lebanese-American hair cupping her pallid face,
her breast an island, around it an ocean that has lost its tides.

And when at last I’m standing by her looking
down at her now forever closed brown eyes and pursed lips,
at her arched brows, her exquisite nose,
at the whole of her lovely face, what will I do?

I will kiss it, kiss her face, kiss it and kiss it,
certain I can purge the evil from her body,
that I can bring her back from her black sleep,
the apple’s poison evaporating in the heat of my breath
on her finely chiseled cheek.

I will kiss her face, her eyes will open,
and she will wrap her slender arms around my neck,
sweetly whispering, Oh daddy, daddy….

---George Drew

My deepest condolences to this father, and to all
the fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, and
extended families of the beautiful and gifted
children we all have lost.

I am so very sorry for everyone hurt by this tragedy.  My son is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan Univ. and to think something of this magnitude is possible on any American campus frightens me to no end! Please accept my entire families sympathy to all who have lost a loved one and to those left behind to deal with this horrific act.  Know you are in our prayers and thoughts, God Bless Virginia Tech.

I never realized the implications of Columbine because I was not old enough to be in high school, and I had not begun to understand the effects a tragedy like Columbine has.

However, I realize the implications of the Virginia Tech shootings.  As a college student, in the last few weeks of class, I realize how stressful the end of the semester can be.  This is one of the reasons I am pained by these events.  Students, only weeks away from relieving the pressures of college, were killed without reason.

I look at the images and I see my own school.  This could have happened anywhere, and is a tragedy for every college student in the nation.  I hope as a collective group, we can support you through this painful time.

As a past Va Tech Alum., but i didn’t graduate from there cause of money situations, i was greatly profound/flabbergasted to what happened on the Campus that i attended back in 1999. It came to me a shock, and words could not express how sorrowful i was to all the victims and their families, and how aggrivated and mad i was at the man who created all of this grief and hardship. I want to solely express my loyalty to Va. Tech Students and Faculty to move on and make this a learning period, which is the hardest way to learn. But most of all, all my prayers are to every Va. Tech Student, Victim and their families, and much love comes with my prayers.

I want you to know that I have been praying for the families of the victoms and for the university that through this many will come to know Jeusus Christ as their personal savior as I have.  He is the one that can truly bring peace to the university at this time.  I know personally of the peace that he can bring during a tragedy like this because on August 14, 2006 my brother, Richard Alan Gaede, was murdered in St. Louis, Missouri, in the room that he rented in a house, by another tennet in front of his daughter.  Anyone from the University who wants to can email me at randydalegae@netzero.net or call me at 864-878-6043 or (cell) 770-490-2318.
