I am a teacher of history and I have found my self filled with grief and yet nothing to say of this astrocity. My thoughts and prayers went out immediately to those who have past. On my car ride home from work I said 33 “Our Fathers” for all those who have past.  I will let my studnets know that those who have gone had not gone in vain. My deepest condolences, a graduate from Tech,

Dear brothers and sisters,

A year and a half ago there was a shooting at my daughter’s high school. My husband is a teacher at this same school. We had known the boy since kindergarten. We were friends and relatives of the victims (one killed, two injured seriously). No one could have predicted this terrible tragedy as we could not predict ours. Our lives will never be the same, as yours will not be.  But you do go on and will be strong once again. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Love, Mitzi S. Lawson and family

I am at such a loss as to what to say.  I work for a college in the Admission Office and feel as though through your strength and sense of community that I am too, feeling your pain and loss.  I bought a sweatshirt from your bookstore, wanting to do something to show my support and prayers for you during this time, and always.

My prayers and thoughts are with all of those who have lost loved ones and friends. I can not begin to understand the pain the community must be feeling at this time. Hopefully this will open the eyes of all school securities around the world. We need to enforce stronger securty for all universities and grade schools. I wish everyone the best and just remember that we are all praying for you!!!

To the students, parents, facility, staff and Blacksburg community the world’s prayers are with you. This is not the time for second guessing or pointing fingers. If the campus would have been on lockdown chances are the violence would have still happened.  Maybe not to the students in Norris but to the students in Harper Hall. It is hard to imagine he would have abandoned his plans just because of a lockdown. We are so sorry for this terrible act of a crazed person. Virginia Tech you will have a huge wound for years but it will heal and you will have a big scar. You will heal. You are a wonderful school with so many shining stars on that campus.  God be with you.  We are Marshall!! Go Hokies! You have always been a winner! You ARE Virginia Tech!

I am deeply saddened by what has happened at your campus..watching the news on this last night I sat and cried as if a member of my own family was involved..Such tragedy has devastated some many families because of this.. parents losing their child..spouses losing a spouse and may we please not forget the parents and family of the shooter as I am sure they are as devastated as the rest of us. They are probably wondering where they went wrong with him or how they could miss that he needed help!! I hope you all can get the grief counseling you need as I know all too well how it is to lose a loved one or friend.. May you be blessed with God’s love and guidance.
Love to you all!! you are in my thoughts and prayers

As like millions around the world, I too struggle to make sense of this horrific tragedy. I can not fully realize the horror that students, faculty staff, parents, families, police and 911 operators have had to face. I pray that ALL can get counseling and help to deal with this nightmare. I pray that we all learn from this and can better protect our loved ones in “safe” places of higher learning. My heart is full of sorrow..as I react as a Mother, a parent, and a human. My prayers are with you all.

I have two daughters 23 and 25, I see their faces in all those kids who were at the service last night. College for my girls was carefree with the only burden being having to study for exams. An extension of young adulthood to reminisce on when you are knee deep with the problems of life later on. To have the memory of what happened scaring this time of their lives deserves all our sympathy. It is so ghastly - the destruction they have experienced, the victims and their families, patients in hospital, teachers, and all involved. We watched your service while in the comfort of our home thousands of miles away, touched. We were comforted by the last speaker who raised the hope of the Hokies and we needed it so far away - the same as all that attended. We pass on our thoughts and sympathy to you all.

ALL my thoughts are with you, and my heart is crying for you, all the family and friends of the victims in the campus shooting.
I will never be able to understand how one person can do such a selfish act, how he could take so many lifes with him to death, that is so terrible wrong and unfair and egoistic, and to get a way with it so easily by taking his one life… There is no justice!
I´ve never lost any family member or friend so i can´t imagine what you are going through right now but i know it would break my heart to lose some one dear to me and my spirit and soul are with you!! I know there is nothing i can say to make you feel better but i just wanted to let you know that i am thinking of you all the time! But i hope even in this sad and dark time that the humanity will open the eyes and realize we got to do something to make sure this will not happen again and again and again… and i hope it will be an end to all the violence in this whole world, let us all love and care for eachother!
And again i want to say from the deepest of my heart and soul how sorry i am, may the strength be with you all!
all my warmest hugs for you!//Anna

Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I, and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Pray, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without effect without the trace of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner.

All is well.
