It’s so hard to think that something like this could happen here, now and to those around us. There nothing in this world that would ever prepare us for something like this. At a time like this you need to charish and be close to family, friends and the people around you. Its always important to remember how these people (your family, friends and aquaintances) lived rather than how they died. Prayers are sent from around the world to help heal and build the future. I am a mom of just a 2 1/2 year old and everday I charish the time I have with her, and for the time I will have her for the next 16 years before she wonders off into the world, I will still hold her close, no matter if she likes it or not. Its always hard to say goodbye, but you dont have to, to the memories. My deepest condolences go out the parents, a child should never have to be burried before their parents. But the parents can go on knowing they raised a wonderful child, and should be very proud. I encourage each family of a victim to put together a photo album of their lost one and show everyone their accomplishments because no one could ever take those away. Best wishes for a better future.

We live in a different world than when I was in Blacksburg in the late 70’s early 80’s.  What a shame that anyone has to endure such senseless tragedy.

In shock and left with unexplainable questions of Why? & How? I am, left with nothing more than with the spirit to overcome and be victorious. Times of trouble and tragedy come and try to knock us down but we must continue our walk we might be slowed down but not knocked down. Look for the comfort of the lord because nobody can bring comfort like He can. A great tragedy has occurred we cannot overcome if we are not united, its time to show that we are ONE! That we already are VICTORIOUS. God Bless you My family and I will have you in our prayers.

Hector Lugo

The LORD is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the dark valley of death, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You welcome me as a guest, anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.

I arise today
Through God’s strength to pilot me:
God’s might to uphold me,
God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me,
God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me,
God’s hand to guard me,
God’s way to lie before me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s host to save me
From snares of devils,
From temptations of vices,
From everyone who shall wish me ill,
Afar and anear,
Alone and in multitude.

Dear Virgina Tech Family,

We are all saddened by the events of April 16th.  Our hearts are heavy, our minds are filled with questions, and we are all feeling your loss.  We know that this can happen on any college or university campus, unfortunately it was yours.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.  There are no words to make you feel better at this time, but we can offer our condolences, our sympathy and our support.  Please know that we as a nation mourn with you.  It seems unfair that we continue to go to class, meet with our friends and professors while you are hurting.  Please let me let you know that there is fear, anger, the lack of trust among all campuses at this time.  It will take time for all of the universities and colleges in the U.S. to recover, but in time we will.  Please feel free to lean on us and let us all build on your strength and courage.  May God bless you all.

With deepest sympathy,

I am proud to be a Hokie.

My heart breaks to see my beloved campus in pain.

The Hokie Stone buildings sit in sorrow.

The same buildings that sat sentry over my youth…
…my search for self-reliance, and I found that I was strong,
…my finding of love, deep abiding love,
…my test of faith, it was strong all along.

I have faith in healing.  Virginia Tech will heal.

I will always be proud to be a Hokie.

Do not think that you are alone in your suffering..the world is suffering with you.  Everyone has been touched in some way by this tragedy. As a parent, my heart aches for those that have lost their children.  As a sister, my heart aches for those that have lost a sibling or friend. As a human being, my heart aches as I try to understand this horrific incident. Know that millions of people are thinking of you and praying that the burden on your hearts will gradually be lifted with time.

No words can begin to explain my sympathy for the VT victims and their families.

All I can say is that Im so sorry that this had to happen to those innocent students. I hope that the families can find security and hope through this website and through their friends and family.

I wish for one day soon that our communities and our nation can find a way to prevent this tradegy from happening again.

To the family of Virginia Tech University,
I know that you have received many comments sending condolences, thought, and prayers; however, God has placed me here for another reason.  So many times we proceed through our daily activities without taking the time to be thankful and appreciative for the things God has done for us.

Let us take this horrific experience as a way to see the importance of believing that everything God does has a purpose.  I truly believe that this situation will open the eyes of many, especially those on the campus, to realize that God is waiting for us to truly trust in Him again.  Only the Father will be able to lead you through this period of mourning, but know that He is there if you need Him.

It is my prayer that we all stop and realize how short life can be and begin to thank God for all that He has done in our lives so far.  You never know when it can be taken all away.  May God bless and keep all who were affected and may the eyes of this nation be opened.

As a member of the Hokie Nation, I want to extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to those that lost family and friends due to the horrific events of 4-16-07.  In the years since my graduation from Va Tech in 1991, I have found that being a Hokie means more and more to me every day.
We will all hurt together and we will all heal together.  We are Virginia Tech!

Where do I begin ? My best friend emailed me Monday afternoon asking me if I had heard of what had happened in Virginia . As I turned on my television and watched the images flash across the screen my first thought was that this couldnt be happening again . We are 4000 miles away but this was too close to home . We both spend a lot of time in NC our friends are college students in both states and the reality of what has happened is still too much to accept . I can’t begin therefore to imagine the pain those on campus are going through , the family and friends of everyone involved in this tragedy and the whole of your beautiful country . My prayers have been with you these past few days and will be in the days and weeks to come . I am so sorry this has happened . God bless all of you at Virginia Tech and to all effected by this tragedy . My heart breaks for you .

Right now I am in a different place,
And though we seem apart,
I’m closer than I ever was…
I’m there inside your heart.

I’m with you when you greet each day
and while the sun shines bright,
I’m there to share the sunsets, too…
I’m there with you every night.

I’m with you when the times are good,
To share a laugh or two,
And if a tear should start to fall…
I’ll still be there for you.

And when that day arrives
That we are no longer apart,
I’ll smile and hold you close to me…
Forever in my heart.

I wish to grant my sorrow and condolences to your faculty, student body, and the parents who lost their children in this horrid tragedy.  I heard about this at work and all i could think of was “I hope its over, I hope the kids are o.k.” The road to recovery may be long, but all of you are in the nations hearts and minds.  I am so very sorry.  God Bless.

To all those mourning their loss of loved ones and all those feeling a sense of insecurity and violation of their lives and their future I pray that Gods presence be felt at this time. Jeremiah 29:11 states “For I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
May Gods love break through your pain and heal the broken hearts!! I also pray that evil will not prevail but that Love, the greatest of the 10 comandments, be allowed to seep in and heal your hearts.
