Condolences, April 18, 2007

My heart goes out to all the families and friends who have lost loved ones.  And to those who have been injured.  May you find strength in God in this time of tragedy.  I can’t even imagine the heartache and grief you all must be going through.  I can only offer my condolences.  I wish there were more I could do.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers everyday.

April 18, 2007, 10:12am • Mt. Vernon, Ohio • #11796

I said a prayer for you today, and know God must have heard. I felt the answer in my heart although he spoke not a word.
I didn’t ask for wealth or fame, (I knew you wouldn’t mind). I asked him to send treasures of a far more lasting kind.
I asked that He be near you at the start of this new day; to grant you comfort and blessings and friends to share your pain.
I asked for comfort for you in all things great and small. But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all!

May God bless and keep the ones that had there lifes taken. Most will never understand how sick one has to be to do such a thing but, I hope we all learn and grow from this. The Victims will not be forgotten.Everytime I send my kids off to school I will remember what happen at VT and make sure I give them that one extra hug and kiss.In a time like this you never want to forgive the person who did this and took so many lifes in just a blink of an eye but, its him who has to answer, I am sure he knew the answers when he took life into his own hands.VT best wishes and grow from this, learn from this and may god bless each and everyone of you you now have 32 Angel’s looking over you all.

As im becoming a student im realize that i need to be there for people in need. I now how it is to lose someone close. I lost 2 family memebers and a really close friend in 1 week period. God is there for everyone and he puts tradegy in our lives for a reason. When we realize that everything is going to be alright we also know that God is the one that pulls us all thru. Romans 5:3-5 says that he puts struggles in our lives to produce perserverience and that produces character and that produces hope which lacks nothing in the Holy Sprit
So our prayers and thought are with you

I would like to highlight the memories of those who unfortunately aren’t with us anymore, Those who will never be with us again . Thirty three souls fell asleep too many years early. I am sorrowed and submerged by a deep sadness. In this day we lost fellow brothers , Pray for them, pray for this world, because it is one that can only move forward, in even in such darkness. Forget tears and cherish instead, cherish all of the moments that you spent with them, it is not because they are gone, that they will not be forgotten.

Puisse Dieu les acceuillir en son eternel jardin ....

32 angels were taken home on Monday April 16, 2007. They are where God needs them. As a young adult recently left college, I can not imagine what these young heros faced. My brother is away at college right now and my heart bleeds with the thought of losing him. My prayers are with you all at this time and your memory will never fade. Every night this week, I will light a candle at my home to remember those lost and celebrate the memory of these angels.

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. (John 14: 16-20, Holy Bible)

In this tragedy, let us remember, that Jesus Christ, and Him alone, is the God of all peace. Seek peace and refuge in His name. Call upon Him and He will answer. Let this cause us to sober our hearts and minds that we all must face death one day. Have you confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? For that is the ONLY WAY that we a assured ETERNAL LIFE. May that Jesus Christ be the comforter of the partents, reletives, friends, teachers and collegues of those who were wounded or lost. My continual prayers are with the entire Virginia Tech Family. God Bless you.

Dear Hokies,

Nothing could possibly describe the pain and sorrow your feeling.  Nothing can be said to take it all away.  The one thing we can all rely on is the faith that god heals.  In the coming weeks, things will slowly start to slow down, and you will see life change somewhat back to normal, but we will never forget.

May those who perrished rest in peace, and may all of us where affected tell their stories. We will never forget.

I want to send my condolences, thoughts, and prayers to all VA TECH students and all citizens in Blacksburg. First Columbine, September 11, Hurricane Katrina, and now VA TECH. How could such a terrible thing happen? We can’t blame ourselves for this tragedy.  It could happen anywhere regardless of the city or state.  We all should let out our cries, emotions, and feelings because if we don’t, it will tear us apart on the inside. Just know that you all have people praying for you all over the country and most of all, live today like there would be no tomorrow.

This poem was read at my grandmother’s funeral and really, really touched me. I wanted to share this with anyone involved in the tragic event that unfolded on April 16th, 2007, who lost their friends, family members, professors, whatever their situation may be. I hope this poem touches you the way it did me. God bless you all at Virginia Tech.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

AND GOD SAID…

I said, “God, I hurt.”
And God said, “I know.”

I said, “God, I cry a lot.”
And God said, “That is why I gave you tears.”

I said, “God, I am so depressed.”
And God said, “That is why I gave you Sunshine.”

I said, “God, life is so hard.”
And God said, “That is why I gave you loved ones.”

I said, “God, my loved one died.”
And God said, “So did mine.”

I said, “God, it is such a loss.”
And God said, “I saw mine nailed to a cross.”

I said, “God, but your loved one lives.”
And God said, “So does yours.”

I said, “God, where are they now?”
And God said, “Mine is on My right and yours is in the Light.”

I said, “God, it hurts.”
And God said, “I know.”

I have worked for over thirty years in a college setting, and the loss of one student is a tragedy.  The loss on April 16 of so many young people with bright futures and their professors, who were helping to shape that future, is hard to accept as reality, just as the events of 9/11 continue to seem impossible.  The entire campus community of Smith College mourns with the Virginia Tech community. I send my deepest condolences to the families and friends of those whose lives were taken this week.

My daughter and I are in shock over this horrible terrible tragedy that has happened.  Heroism has been shown, honor fully commendable and sadness has been overwhelming.

For the families grieving loved ones lost, our thoughts and prayers are with you ... For the families sitting in hospitals hoping their loved one will be ok, our thoughts and prayers are with you ...  And finally for the families whose children/teachers that are unharm, a lesson learned to tell and show your family how much you mean to them each and every day.
