Condolences, April 18, 2007

My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you begin the difficult task of grieving and making your way thru the healing process. Words cannot express the sorrow we share with the students, faculty and campus community. I pray that thru all this sadness some good will come.
May God hold you all in his embrace and fill you with his peace.

To the students, faculty, and families. This has touched the world. Please know people around the world are praying for all of you. Stay strong. Pray and look towards God to help you gain the strength. Read your Bible daily.  May universities around the world learn from this and step up security measures so this will never happen again.  Students, if you know anyone that may need counseling please help them or tell someone that they need help.  God bless all of you.  ---In prayer for you, The Collins Family of Ga

I cannot fully express the sadness I feel at the tragic loss of students and faculty this past Monday.  Bright minds and futures gone in an instant at the hands of a madman.  My thoughts and prayers go out to families effected by the tragedy as well as the entire community.  I firmly believe that through that special bond and strength of purpose, the entire Hokie Nation will heal itself in time.  Those, whose lives were taken that infamous day will never be forgotten.  It is in their memory and honor that we go on.  M. My wife, daughter & I wish to share our sincere condolense to all victims of this tragic event.
We were on your beautiful campus earlier this year for an athletic event and remarked how beautiful and serene it is.  We were walking to this event at night and one of your wonderful fans took it upon themselves to stay with us until we knew exactly where we were.  Although we are Clemson University fans, we share with you this great loss and wish to be thought of as Hokies at heart.
May God Bless You All,

Sincerely,

When a loved one becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. Treasure your memories of those ones lost at VT., for the fond memories will last a future and they shall never be forgotten. Our prayers and thoughts go out to all of the victims involved with this senseless act of terror. We lost our 19 year old son in 1991. It is devistating, but with the fond memories, it makes it better to endure. Time will help, but will never give you an answer as to “why”. May God comfort you at this time of sorrow and mourning and be assured that these loved ones are here in our memories with us. From Ray & Scharlene in Logan, UT

As the parents of a Virginia Tech Alumni we are deeply saddened by the terrible tragedy that has taken place on the Virginia Tech campus.  Please accept our most sincere condolences as you try to deal with this.  We worry that many people will think of this when they think of the college.  The years our daughter spent there are fond memories for us.  It is such a beautiful place and the people there were always so friendly and helpful.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.  Go Hokies!!

This horrific tragedy has touched the world and has touched all of our hearts and souls...we feel the pain that this event has created for those so close and for those so far from this beautiful campus...we know of at least someone this has touched personally...some of us hve felt the loss of a child...i lost a daughter 20 yrs. ago...she would now be 22...the age of some of the stricken students...stricken by bullets and the rest by stricken by the loss of their friends and professors...i have a son still in college and he called me to tell me he loved me...may his words find the hearts and souls of those that feel this pain and sorrow...we share in your pain and grief...may you be blessed with peace...we hold you in our hearts and prayers…

Dear All,

Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Words cannot describe how saddened we are with this tragic incident. I don’t know if all these messages are going to help in decreasing the pain that you all are going through.May be not.I am trying not to think, not to watch the news. I am finding hard to concentrate on anything. It’s just make me feel very unsecured. I can’t digest the fact that a sacred place like school is not safe.It is making me angry, depressed & unsecure.

We are talking of loss of human lives here, untimely death, innocent people. It’s often said that time is the best medicine, it will heal the wounds slowly. May God give you all strength, courage & Peace. I don’t know how to take away your pain. I wish I could.

We are all praying for you. God Bless You.

I grew up in Blacksburg and attended Tech and I never thought that something like this would have happened in our ‘boring’ little town.  I love my town and my school and I am saddened by what has happened.  My heart goes out to all Blacksburg residents, all VA Tech students and faculty, and all families and friends that have been deeply effected by this tragedy.  Though I cannot be with you now, I am with you in my thoughts and prayers.  May God grant us all peace and understanding, patience and wisdom.
Sincerely,

My heart reaches out to all of those affected by this tragedy.  As a Virginia Tech alumni, I am still in a state of shock about this incident and cannot fathom such a horrible event occurring in this university and town that I hold so dear to my heart.  Now is not the time to point fingers.  We must instead join together and be there for those in need.  We are Virginia Tech and we will all overcome this!

Seek God. He is a healer. God bless!

Isaiah 53:4-6:
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

As I am deeply conserned, So are my classmates. We are all puzzled with this devistating disaster, But most of all - It could have been us. For the crime of passion, the fate rested on one persons hands. But yet, haven’t we all dumped a boy/girl friend? So, let us forgive those who didn’t mean this much harm, And let them live life with out the consience thinking that those peoples lives where in her hands.

I can not even begin to express how much sorrow I feel for the friends and family of the vicitims of this tragedy. Although there were only 33 true victims, everyone who went and goes to that school is a vicitim. Victims subjected to terror, pain, anguish and sorrow. My condolences to the family members and friends, may you feel no more pain and suffering and may God take care of your loved ones and may they Rest in Peace. Words seem such a small thing to offer at this time, we all wish we could do something more but know that there is nothing that can be said or done to take away the grief you must all be feeling. Please know however that you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this awful time and as you unite in your sorrow there we all right there beside you.

To Blacksburg residents & all fellow Hokies:

Here are some quotes that we always find consoling in time of need:

“Men exist for the sake of one another.”
--Marcus Aurelius

“Accept the things which fate binds you, & love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart.”
--Marcus Aurelius

This senseless tragedy will be with our hearts for some time to come, you all are not alone, we grieve with you.

I’d like to extend my most heartfelt condolences to all of you. Everytime a face is put to that awful number, I think of how senseless this tradgedy is… I hope the families find comfort in knowing that the victums were not their bodies...They will be with you in your long journey of ups and downs.I hope this tragedy will help us all realize that we need to start loving one another and valuing human life alot more.  They must have been far too good for this earth and I pray that God is welcoming them into a much better place than this hell we live in…

To the students, faculty and families who had to endure such pain, such loss from such a horrific tragedy, my prayers are with you.  Every story that I hear on the news, every memory that I read in the paper of everyone who has lost their lives touches me.  This tragedy is so heartwrenching for even me who has never experience any tragic loss in my city and hope to never have too but my heart goes out to every single one of you in hopes you find faith, hope and peace in the near future coping with such a loss. We will never have the answer to why, but does it really matter now, it will never bring them back.  We do need to be prepared for the next one in hopes there will never be one, look to those who choose to be loners, who write with such hate and disturbance and report it before it gets to something like this, like Colombine.  My condolences to every single one of you. With great faith I hope you find the strength to move on and always remember you are VIRGINIA TECH!

Think carefully about
what you will be reading.

Mary! had a little Lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.

He followed her to school each day,
T’wasn’t even in the rule.
It made the children laugh and play,
To have a Lamb at school.

And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak His Name!

Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gun shots and tears.

What must we do to stop the crime,
That’s in our schools today?
Let’s let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!
