To the Va Tech Community,
God Bless you all in this time of tradegy. No one can fully know the pain and sense of loss both the victim’s families and the survivors of this event are experiencing. Please know that God your Father is ever present with each of you and that it was not His will that the senseless acts of one person would change the course of your life forever. Turn to Him in the bad and the good and know that you are never alone. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. W. Manning

I am so saddened at what happened to this wonderful school in our beautiful state of Virginia. A resident of Virginia since 2001, I have dreamed my children could go to Virginia Tech.  Now I would be proud and honored if they get the chance to attend this amazing school.  April 16th is my daughters birthday and she turned 9 this year. Its a very special day for out family. I now have a special place in my heart for this day for all that were killed at your school.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the families, friends, students, and faculty that were affected by this horrific tragedy.  God bless and stay strong.. Hug someone a little longer today… It will make them smile..  Smiling is a way of healing and it makes you feel good inside.. We need that to get through this pain that we are all feeling around this country today.. “GO HOKIES”

Our church choir rehearsed a hymn last night called “A Wordless Prayer”. All any of us could think of was the suffering of the families and friends who lost loved ones during this tragic event. I pray that God in His mercy will ease the terrible pain you all feel and fill the void of your loss with His love.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your students, staff and families affected by this horrific event. Although our daughter attends another college as a freshman, we felt compelled to call her and let her know we loved her. She was shaken by this event, as the whole world has been. We can not imagine what we would do if we had lost her in such a terrible way. May you find peace in your lives.

My family and I have been covered with a veil of sadness since the shootings occurred at Virginia Tech.  I have two children in college - a 19-year old and a 21-year old and I have been in constant prayer since this event, for not only all of the students, faculty, parents, and friends of Virginia Tech, but also for students and parents everywhere.  May God bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you and may He give you his tender mercy and care, and may you draw some comfort in knowing that the rest of the country mourns with you.

I don’t know what to say that has not already been said. I am so sorry for all your losses. I tear up just reading the biographies of the victims and the stories of bravery that have been mentioned, so I cannot even imagine how those of you who are family members and VT students must feel. I am so sorry for your losses. I wish there were something I could do to help, I really do. Please take care of yourselves and I pray that you all find a way to heal. God bless.

I know my words are just simply words and cannot heal the forever wounds in your hearts, but I can’t help but just cry with you as I read about what happened and see the pictures of the poor souls whose lives were cut short.  All the potential, the future God had planned for these people.  I know it is hard to keep faith in such a horrible situation but this is a time when, if you allow Him, God will carry you thru.  The whole world is mourning with you.  Know that you have brothers and sisters who may not be with you physically, but we are there spiritually.  We are praying you up and I hope you can feel us with you.  May God hold you in His arms tonight as you feel so lost and torn.  I am so sorry and feel so saddened knowing what you’re going thru right now.

As an alumni living in europe for the last few years, I have often had trouble explaining to people here where I went to college as they have often never hear of tech or blacksburg.  It makes me so sad and angry to see VT gain prominence in the international media for all the wrong reasons when there are so many good things for tech to be known for.  I look back on my years there with fondness as some of the happiest years of my life and I pray that this terrible day won’t deny current students of that blessing in years to come.  All my thoughts and prayers are in blacksburg with you guys.
