To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up tht which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and time to dance. Ecclesiastes 3 1-4
My husband and I offer our deep condolences and wants each of you to know you and in our prayers. May God Bless.

My deepest condolences to all those who lost loved ones on Monday, and for all those in the VT community as well as Blacksburg and surrounding areas.  This includes the family of Cho Sueng-Hui.  Even though I am a parent, I can only imagine what they are going through right now.  Not only did they lose their son, they will have to deal with the fact that he perpetrated this profoundly senseless act.  I hope that those in the VT community will find strength and solace in each other, and that the spiritual leaders of the community will lead the way to help this community heal from this tragedy.  I have visited Blacksburg and the VT campus on a few occasions, and it is a special place, and not just because my wife is an alumna.  May it always remain so.Go Hokies!

My deepest sympathy to all the families and friends affected by this tragedy.  Events like these remind us of how precious life is.  We may never know what pushed Cho Seung-Hui over the edge to carry on such a senseless act. Anger lies beneath all our aching hearts that sympathizing with Mr Cho’s family is the last thing on our minds. But I would like to extend my sympathy to his family because they too are suffering from the pain and loss of their loved one.  We should remember that they are in search of answers just like us.  I don’t mean to offend anyone but I really feel sad all around even for the shooter.  We can speculate the reason for his actions but he may also have been a victim of something very traumatic in the past which could have been the basis of his erratic behavior.  It’s just too bad that no one was able to get through to him to show him the brighter side of life.  My family visited V-tech just before the tragic day and I still remember its warm, safe and friendly atmosphere. I pray to God that He would touch and heal all the broken hearted, grant a speedy recovery for the injured and grant peace to the deceased.

As part of the Hokie nation I am so proud of what I have seen on TV. The strength that I have seen on these young adults have made me proud! I know because of the strength of the Hokies, the love of our families and the love of our country we will grieve together, we will move on together and we will remember the loved ones that were taken before their time. May we, as a Hokie Nation do their memory justice by carrying on the work that these bright individuals have started and showing the nation what being a HOKIE is all about.

With love and Prayers,
A Fellow Hokie

Nothing can replace the people lost, but we can preserve their memories in our hearts forever if we stand united.  Let this tragic day serve as a reminder to the American people to appreciate the mere state of being alive.  May God rest the souls lost in the Virginia Tech Massacre and may He help ease the suffering of their families, in time.

In a world of 24 hour information these horrors have become the cornerstone of the media in every country. These are real people not numbers on a television screen. These students had hope and promise, these faculty members offered their experience, heart and time. The loved ones, friends and colleagues now have a massive hole in their lives. Take the time to care, to slow down and to see life as it unfolds because life is fleeting and precious.
