My heart aches with you. My tears flow for you. And as a Hokie-in-waiting, my spirit longs to join you in this quest “to invent the future,” as poet Nikki Giovanni so eloquently said Tuesday. But until then, my prayers are that God gird us with love, courage and peace as only God can.

A Child Loaned

“I’ll lend you for a little time
A child of Mine.” He said.
“For you to love the while he lives
And mourn for when he’s dead.
It may be six or seven year
Or twenty-two or three
But will you, till I call him back
Take care of him for Me?
He’ll bring his charms to gladden you
And should his stay be brief,
You’ll have his lovely memories
As solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay
Since all from Earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want the child to learn.
I’ve looked this wide world over
In my search for teacher’s true,
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lanes,
I have selected you;
Now will you give him all your love,
Nor think the labour vain
Nor hate Me when I come to call
And take him back again?

I fancied that I heard them say,
“Dear Lord, They will be done,
For all the joy Thy child shall bring,
For the risk of grief we’ll run.
We’ll shelter him with tenderness,
We’ll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we’ve known,
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him
Much sooner than we planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes
And try to understand.”

To All Of The Staff, Students , and Families of Virginia Tech Students :
I send my condolences to you all and continue to pray for all of you . I know you are probably asking why ?? because I asked myself that to when I lost my brother in the World Trade Center on September 11th,2001 . There is never going to be a reason- but only you can keep their spirits alive and create something good (maybe a fundraiser)out of tragedy in your loved ones names . It NEVER gets any easier you just learn to live with it so I pray for god to give you all strength to get you through the toughest times . You will forever be in my thoughts and I know - rest assured - my brother Firefighter Lenny Ragaglia met your loved ones at the gate to greet them and take care of them and put a smile back on their faces . Virginia Tech you will Always be in N.Y.’s hearts ! God Bless you all !

Our Hearts Are Sad

Yesterday as I awoke the sun didnot shine, As I watched The reports on the television my heart broke even more. I do not know anyone at VIRGINIA TECH, but I do live in a very small rural community with a University (Salem International).

I wondered if they were safe had they heard the news, (Not Aware of any security there very little if any)

So as i listened and thought of your grief Only one thing came to mind The school colors must fly must be free to unfurl in the wind . So i ravaged my home and came up with this//////

A simple ribbon of Marroon and Orange hung on the large wind chime on my home so that the colors fly and the chime for those lost forever.
