To the Virgina Tech Family,
My heart goes to all of you as you cope with the tragedy. We as a united nation are coping with you. I myself was deeply shocked and outraged at the events that unfolded on 4/16. I am a college sophomore and have being reflecting the past two days that we can lose each other so quickly and I am thankful to have my friends, knowing that they are safe. I wish that can be said for the 32 of the college community. God bless and I am thinking of you!

We will never know what life would have been like had they lived, but we will make future lives remember that they lived.

April 16 2007
Over 30 souls entered heaven.
Virginia Tech will mourn the loss
Surviving such a holocaust.
An institute of hopes and dreams,
Halls echoed with shots and screams.
I think back to Columbine
On April 20, in 99.
Inspiring souls that left this Monday
So many friends have gone away.
Blessed people of life’s grand design.
Faith and strength we now have to find.
Never will we know the alternative
If these souls were left to live.
And to the one that shot them all away,
Hell will be home until Judgement Day.

My prayers to everyone.

Hello, I’m a 17 year old student at Hillsboro Highschool in Nashville, TN, and yesterday I wrote this poem for the families, students, staff and friends, of those whom we lost that day.

“Requiem” by Chris Webb

Oh Requiem, settle our souls tonight
Requiem, help us wrap our hearts up tight
Requiem won’t you sing for us tonight?
Til this storm blows over so everything will be alright

Oh Requiem, settle our souls tonight
Requiem, come and hold us tight
Requiem, won’t you sing til morning light?
Til the storm blows over, so everything will be alright

Oh Requiem, settle our souls tonight
Requiem, help us find the light
Requiem, won’t you sing for those who died
So those innocent souls will rest in peace tonight.

I hope some can find comfort these words I’ve written, and I pray for all of Virginia Tech, and may all of us find comfort in one another, and grow to be stronger young adults, and stronger people in general.

Sincerely, Chris Webb

Death has no sorrow, that heaven cannot heal.  In life, we are crowded by good times as well as bad times.  This time right now is definitely a storm, but in the end of every storm is a ray of sunshine.  That sunshine will penetrate your hearts and your minds, providing the healing needed in this most devestating moment.  Trust in the Lord with all your hearts because God say’s he will never leave nor forsake you.  My prayers are with every family in your time of need.  God bless, and pray for peace.

In this world we exist through both good and evil - the good is so often unseen yet evil is unmissable. As a society we cannot stop evil invididuals existing, but what can be done is to reduce the atrocities they become responsible for - politicians and authorities worldwide take note that society demands you protect us. The UK took positive steps after Dunblane and changed its gun law - so should the US. God bless those who perished and may their loved ones heal from the pain. Anon

There are no words, no sentiments, that can express our sorrow to the VT students, families, faculty, administration, and community.  I know you are a strong community.  You are, after all, Virginia Tech and Blacksburg.  For as long as I can remember, as a native Virginian, VT has been a strong force.  Remember, though, not only is it okay to mourn, to grieve, to cry--it is imperative.  You have been through a trauma that no one could have imagined--whether you are among those who were physically injured or know someone who was injured or killed or not.  We have all been affected by this tragedy, although not in the same intensity that you have.  Your lives will never be the same.  Our (Virginians) lives will never be the same.  Two hundred miles away in Richmond, we feel the wave of pain...and we want you to know that we are here for you.  We embrace you.  We care for you.  You ARE Virginia Tech.  You ARE Blacksburg.  You ARE loved.

Phillipians 4:13 says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” LEAN ON HIM.
