I am an alum from James Madison University and although I went to JMU, I was accepted to Tech first. I have many friends who went to and graduated from Tech and my heart broke when I saw what happened on the 16th. I work in student affairs at Northwestern University now and believe me when I say that we are all thinking and praying for everyone at Tech.

My cousin attends VT for egineering.  He was in the engineering building on the same floor that the shootings took place.  By the grace of god he was physically unharmed!  The stress my family has gone through is miniscul compared to those who have lost their loved ones.  I will continue to pray for your families.  God bless all of the VT students, faculty and families!

Why did this Happen
We will Never Know
What makes people think
The have a Right
To take life so

Can we Forgive Them
That’s hard to do
But God Make us Stronger
Do deal with such too

So torn Apart
From Broken Hearts
Tears of Sadness like a blindness
To never see that loved one
Taken so callously away
But hopefully taken into a brighter Day

My thoughts are with you all. I have written this in memory of all the people taken away and the people left behind. God Bless You.

I share your devastation and utter bewilderment that such a thing should befall young students and faculty members at an institution of learning.  There are really no words to express my sadness and sorry and sympathy for everyone impacted.  I trust you know that this has touched eveyone in a special way.  We may not understand why this happened, but I am positive someone’s life will be changed for the better as a result of this tradegy.  Hold on to your faith, God is always there with you.

I am a Virginia Tech Alumni and I have been forever humbled by this event.  I just can’t belive that something so tragic could occur. If I remember nothing else about my VT community, they are strong, they are together, and they are survivors.  I am still proud to wear my hokie colors and know that something as horrific won’t keep that community down.  If anything, you will be stronger.  God Bless!

Although I have since moved away, I spent the first 23 years of my life in the Roanoke Valley. When I turned on the news and saw what was happening at Virginia Tech my heart absolutely broke. For the lives lost, for the students injured, for the entire community. Most of my family are Tech graduates. Because of that, I know the love that so many hold for Tech and I hope that that love can bring you all through this tragedy.
