How can anyone express the heavy heartache which is necessary for every person involved in this tragedy? May a greater understanding than the world which we exist BLESS ALL of us and comfort the hearts of all the victims, including the victim and his family. I wish I had the power to hold and comfort everyone right now and forever. May love, understanding, peace, comfort, and joy of the knowing our loved ones lost encompass everyone.

But I would also like to praise those who showed their bravery throughout the whole ordeal.  All the students and police officers who helped are greatly appreciated.  I would especially like to thank Matt Green who is president of the VT Rescue Squad, for being a leader throughout that hard day.

My first contact with the VT nation was during the Chick-fil-A bowl.  I was truly impressed by the sense of pride that members of the VT community had, but yet every person I spoke to was humble and courteous.

I am sorry that you are going through this time of trial.  My family is in prayer with you as you mourn.  Stay strong and stay true to that kind, loving nature that God has blessed your community with.

I lived in West Ambler Johnston for 2 years while attending Tech.  I also lived in Main Eggleston and East Campbell.  Before Monday, I could have told anyone in Lubbock about these dorms and the drillfield, and it would have meant nothing.

Now, to see my beloved school everyday on television, internet, and hear on radio, is very heartbreaking.  I cannot even begin to imagine how it is for students on campus, as I graduated 33 years ago but those 4 years were the best years of my life.

My prayers go out to all of the students, parents, and other alumni.  This is a tragic time for the world, but particularly the dear VPI school.

My hope is that other troubled young people will be more accurately and quickly diagnosed and taken out of the mainstream if deemed a possible harm to others and themselves.

Stay strong, fellow Hokies - the rest of the Hokies in the world are praying for you.

Love is the singular cause of grief.
Grief, though powerful, is never as strong as the love that creates your grief.
As you fight your grief, do not fight your love, as you shall discover, love is forever.

Gods blessing upon each and every grieving heart today.

If I cry a tear for you, do you promise to shed one less? Then I shall cry until eternity for you so that you may have peace.

I watched last night as the 3 major stations broadcast more about this tragedy.  I was able to put faces to the victims and hear comments from their families.  I cannot imagine the grief you must feel.  My son is a freshman at the University of Northern Iowa and to imagine getting a call saying he had been shot is more than I can comprehend.  I have prayed for God to wrap his arms around you all and be with you to comfort you in this time of sorrow.  We in Iowa are greiving with you.

As parents of a “proud Hokie” our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families who have lost loved ones, the students who have endured unbelievable pain over the past few days, and the faculty and administration who have tried so desperately to handle this horrible situation with such dignity and integrity.  Our hearts may heal, but our minds will never forget.  We will continue to pray for all of you.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to all the students, professors and staff at Virgina Tech, along with the families who are effected by this.  These students are supposed to be working together for a common goal… their future.  This event, most tragic, has needlessly and cold-heartedly taken that away.

I am sorry for your great loss!

I couldn’t put into words the weight of my sorrow, nor the pride I felt when I saw the community band together in such tragedy. I hope someone elses words may be more meaningful:

“More than any time in recent history, America’s destiny is not of our own choosing. We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedom and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people’s strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arive...The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels tonight. They’re our students and our teachers and our parents and our friends. The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels, but every time we think we have measured our capacity to meet a challenge, we look up and we’re reminded that that capacity may well be limitless. This is a time for American heroes. We will do what is hard. We will achieve what is great. This is a time for American heroes and we reach for the stars.”

As we struggle with the tragedy of this unspeakable event, it is comforting to know that we are Hokies.

“This is a tragedy in American history. So for today, forget any and all of your college affiliations. For today, we are all Hokies.” -CNN

Even CNN recognizes that the Hokies are a symbol of community and strength…

Stay strong Hokies; lots of love is sent from hearts of all college affiliations, and hearts from all over the world.

In a world so cold and callous,

I find myself ignoring the malice,

Going on with life as it should be,

Thinking it will never happen to me.

My heart had become sterile,

Until I saw your peril.

I cried so many tears,

For the loss of so many years.

Years you’ll never know,

and years you’ll never let go.

For the loved ones that you lost,

at such, a very high cost.

As I gaze up at the sky,

I look to my faith and ask,

Why?

Why, Why...........................Why
