Condolences, April 18, 2007

Dear people of Virginia Tech,

I am disgusted, appauled, words can not describe the feelings one would only dread to feel once in a lifetime. This young man who did this, is pure evil, no past events could have led to this, he has exceeded our expectations of what humans can be caperble of, lets learn from this, how can you defend the people of America if you give them the power to defend themselves, Increase the peace.
My best wishes to you all.

Marco

The whole country was affected on Monday April 16. I want to express my sadness to all of the Virginia Tech student body, faculty, staff, and to the family and friends of the innocent victims that had their lives taken from them in a blink of an eye. It will be very hard to recover from such a tragic event, but with the whole United States praying for you, you will prevail. Please with that said know that you at Virginia Tech are not alone, we are all behind you. I wish you the best of luck in rebuilding your school spirit and hopefully you will become stronger than ever after this horrible Monday. Stay Strong, and remember your not alone in this at all.

Although I didn’t know any of the victims, we are all linked together as human beings. Being a former college student, I know how it feels to long for the safety and closeness that one should feel while on campus. That is shattered right now but this should be a time of remembrance and hope. College is an amazing experience and shouldn’t be remembered solely on this one thing. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

One night a man had a dream; he dreamed he was walking along the beach with the lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; One belonged to him, the other to the lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the lord about it. “Lord, you said that once i decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way, but i have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why when i needed you most you would leave me.” The lord replied, “My precious child, i love you and i would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints it was then that i carried you.” To all at this sad time my thoughts and prayers are with you. John price

At this time, we in the wider community should be supporting you.  As I watched coverage of Tuesday’s memorial service, however, it was I who took strength from you.  Your courage, your dignity and your spirit are truly inspiring.  You are Virginia Tech.  You will triumph.

To all those touched by this tragic event I am deeply sorry. Each time I think of this happening it scares me. This could happen anywhere at any time. I am deeply saddened that it happened. There is nothing no one could to ever take this back. But as your webpage says…

“We are sad today, and we will be sad for quite a while. We are not moving on. We are embracing our mourning. We are Virginia Tech ...”

Keep that in mind as you struggle with this time. We will all keep you in mind. Be strong.

I don’t even want to try and imagine how you are all coping with this.  i was moved by your candlelight vigil, the sight of some many students standing united in silence with dignity.

May you continue to have the strength to cope in the coming days, weeks, months.

What a profound sorrow it is
To think of this world
Without you
Without your presence
Shaping the day
Focusing our thoughts
Astounding
To think
of your silence
your presence

There are no mere words to express the deep sympathy and sadness I feel about the loss of human life at Virginia Tech.  Having been on that beautiful campus, it is difficult to believe that something that horrific could actually happen in Hokie country.  The VT community, families and grief stricken students are in my prayers and thoughts.  May God be with you and comfort you in this time of sadness.

To all those affected by this tragic event, there are no words to lessen the pain and the loss of those you love. Only time will help to ease the pain, but it will never leave you as it shouldn’t. As a father who has lost a child in a senseless way, remember you are not alone. Never forget the memories, they are all that we have to hold on to. God bless you, each and everyone, and god bless the kids, because that is what they are always to a parent, our children.
