I send all my love and support to the students, staff and faculty.  Please stay strong and know that you are all in the hearts and minds of all of us.  As a former Resident Assistant and Professional Residence Life member at another institution, I would like to give a special shout of support to the many students and professional staff that do a wonderful job in positions that can at times be amazingly stressful.  I am sure you are doing your best to keep the lines of communication open to the students living on campus.  To all 33 people who are no longer among us, you will never be forgotten.  That also includes the shooter.  I know GOD will forgive you but I truly wish you had gotten the help that you obviously needed.  GOD bless Virginia Tech.

I want to express my deepest sorry for everyone in the “Hokie” nation.  I grew up just 45 minutes from VA Tech, and almost went there.  I decided to go to Tennessee; which we have had battles in sports.  However, we are all one!  One team, one nation!  I still cannot getover the anquish that all students at VT are going through.  I know as a person, it is hard on me.  I keep watching the news (wanting to turn it off), but want to know WHY someone could do this!  VT has a strong spirit as does UT; however, I don’t even know how to express sorrow for parents, freinds, and family.  All I can say is that the entire nation is sharing your loss.  God Bless you all, and always remember those that suffered such an “unfair” ending to their lives.  Best wishes to all.....

I am a Louisiana Tech University student.  I want to express condolences to Virginia Tech on behalf of Louisiana Tech.  We are a tight knit community and we felt as if we were affected.  Some of us have friends who lived in Virginia and either attended Va Tech or know someone who attends Va Tech.  May God bless you and keep you!  You are in our prayers!!!  Go Hokies!!!

I was deeply saddened by the tragic events at Virginia Tech this week.  As I listened to a news conference on the radio while driving to work this morning, my heart sank upon hearing the name of the shooter.

May the memory of the professor who survived the Holocaust and died while protecting his students not be tainted by racist comments, such as the one posted on this website, that promote the same hatred that brings a Holocaust:

“My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this slant-eyed gookface.”

As a 4th generation American of Korean descent I am very sorry to see this “condolence” classifed as a civil and appropriate comment in memory of those who died so tragically at Virginia Tech.  The Korean American community grieves with the rest of our country and the families of those affected by this senseless crime.

Thank you to the Virgina Tech community of outstanding young men and women who rise above such hatred to embrace one another in this time of grief and healing.  My heart is with you.

Nobody can believe that this has happened… words cannot describe it, we are all left speechless. Being a college gradaute myself, and thinking about what would have happened if it had been at my school, it’s difficult to even fathom… to VA Tech, everyone across the country is keeping you in their thoughts and prayers at this time-- even those of us who didn’t know anyone involved.

MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU!!!

Gracious God, all around me people are suffering. When I turn away from my own problems, I feel sorrow for the problems of others. Through the news, the media, and my conversations, I am daily confronted with the pain and suffering of so many innocent people in my life and in the world. Suffering seems to eagerly eat at the edges of life until people are worn down with sadness and despair. Even though I do not understand the reasons for suffering, I believe that you are a God of love, a God of compassion. I pray that you will be with all those this day that are in pain, who suffer silently and alone, who feel abandoned and left by the side of life’s road. Wrap your arms of grace around them, until they know they are safely held in your embrace. And, I pray, that you will fill my heart with the same compassion, and give me eyes to see how I can lovingly be a part of their healing. I ask this for the sake of your great love. Amen.

At VT some 20 yrs ago...writing with a heavy heart but full of hope for my university...God be with all the victims, family, and friends and bring your healing upon my school.

Nothing can make yesterday’s events right, but the memory of those affected can be best served by remembering our motto..."that I may serve.”

I know you can do it, Hokies!

May peace and love find you all!

I’ve been on this campus for over 25 years. I’ve seen tragedies & unfortunate events but none like this. I’m proud to be a member of this community & of how everyone comes together as a family despite the large number of people who might seem a stranger to us. I grew up in a big city & am in awe of the way, in such a small community as this, the law enforcement & rescue personnel jump in & put their lives on the line in such an efficient, professional & caring way under these, the highest stress situations imaginable. God bless you all. I pray that you’ll find peace & know that you’re all in my prayers & those of others we don’t even know. I’ve gotten emails from people all over the country that I’ve never met who are all praying for us. In the coming days I also pray that you can move forward & try to learn to deal with this in the best way possible & stay together as that big Hokie family. My heart goes out to those families that lost loved ones. I’m a mom and cannot bear to think of that kind of loss & can only imagine your pain. I pray that you’ll find comfort in your hearts by remembering God’s promise of a wonderful eternal life & forgiveness of sins through the death of our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you all.

Please hug an Asian today.

Cho Seung-hui too is going to heaven, since this world as we know it was his hell.

How this can be prevented: endeavor to socialize any one who chooses to hide from the world outside, protect them and yourselves from bullies, display honesty and sincerity, refraining from using privilege of social status to abuse or subject to abuse other people, moderating substance use - be it alcohol, tobacco etc, reporting hate crime - no matter how trivial, practising religious tolerance…

Cho Seung-Hui complained of debauchery, deceitful charlatans and rich kids.

In avoiding him, we failed him. In laughing at him, we failed him. In letting him be, we failed him.

Contrary to how the media wants it painted, I do not see victims here at VTech. I see 33 martyrs.

May they all rest in peace, even Cho Seung-Hui.

Loss of life is devastating; loss of life,in this scale, is totally, devastating. “We are Virginia Tech” My heart goes out to all the people who’s loved ones were lost in this tragedy. Mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, aunt and uncles have all lost a loved one in a completely senseless and bewildering way. Today we are all Virginia Tech.
