Condolences, April 18, 2007

I feel tremendous grief for the tragedy that has come to your campus.  The faces of your students and staff reflect the pain felt by all of us who watch the tragedy. I pray to God that the pain will ease with time, and the laughter comes to replace the tears that we all share.
Yes! you are “Virginia Tech”, and you will overcome this terrible horror.  God Bless all of you.

Dear ViginiaTech,

You are all in the hearts of millions of people in Canada and around the world.

I personally cannot express in words the sadness I feel.

It’s amazing to see that even with this horrible tragedy, you all demonstrate love and calm.

Don’t let the wonderful Spirit of VTech fad away because of this shooting. Your spirit is what makes VTech!

I am so sorry for you all. Tertiary education should be the happiest part of our lives and, because of some lunatic, it has blighted and tarnished the noble character of Virginia Tech. I hope that this tragic episode will create a better understanding between all young people everywhere, and bring students closer for mutual support and tolerance

My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected by this awful tragedy.I watched in horror as I saw things unfold on the news. What could any of these people have done to deserve to lose their lives?I can’t think of anything that would be that bad. It’s hard to lose anyone in this manner but young people who hasn’t had a chance to shine makes it worse. We will always wonder what gifts they held inside. As a parent myself I don’t know what I would do if I were in this situation.I will pray everyday for the families and friends signed,Angela Thornbrough

I am so deeply sadden by the events that have taken place at your college. College is suppose to be a time of learning and finding out who you are and what you wish to be, not a time of sorrow and death.

Please know that the entire college community, the families of those who are lost and those who are still in the hospital are in the thoughts and prayers. If there is ANYTHING I can do, I would gladly do it to help you.

Finally, remember this, If you’re alone, I’ll be your shadow. If you want to cry, I’ll be your shoulder. If you want a hug, I’ll be your pillow. If you need to be happy, I’ll be your smile. But anytime you need a friend, I’ll just be me.

Why’s and why nots as we shed tears. Silence so loud that it hurts your ears.  Young faces now gone and old souls in their place.  What have we done we of the human race?  The strength of an elderly man to spare young lives and then loses his own.  The innocence and joy of youth has forever flown. There are no words, no poems, no candles in the night that can erase from our hearts and minds that awful sight.  May your soul and your spirit in peace arise.  May the angels who left us be always at your side.
