Condolences, April 18, 2007

Où êtes-vous, mes Amis, où êtes-vous?
On aurait bien voulu,

I am so deeply saddened for the loss of life Monday.  It was truly a senseless and tragic day. As a mother of 3 little girls, I cannot begin to imagine the pain that is being felt by the families that have suffered this loss.  I, as well as the rest of the country, am praying for all the families involved in this tragedy as well as for Virgina Tech.  God bless you all.

Much love and prayers,
The Smith Family

It is beyond my understanding why young people with so much promise are taken from us.  It is also difficult to understand why faculty members who have shared their wisdom and knowledge with so many are taken from us.  I pray for wisdom, understanding, strength, peace, and comfort for all of us--especially the Virginia Tech family.  I also pray that God will bless those who were wounded with complete healing.

May God be with our nation as we grieve and heal.  May God be with Virginia Tech.

I am saddened beyond belief and words at the tragedy that has hit our alma mater.  I mourn with the families and friends of the victims whose lives were taken on Monday morning.  I cry with our community as we try to understand what happened, come to grips with our losses, and be able to heal the wounds that have cut so deep.  Virginia Tech will never be the same, but it will always be strong.  We are Virginia Tech.

My deepest thoughts are with all the VT community. You should take this time to morn and reflect. All I can hope is this wakes up the people in this country to realize the cost we pay for the lack of GUN CONTROL. I do believe in the Right to Bear Arms, but it should have very strict regulations behind it.
I promise all of you that I will now work on pushing for Gun Control on behalf of VT. I am just an everyday person, but I have a lot of determination.
GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU!!!!

Hello,

My name is Alicia i am 12 years old and i have seen the news about the massacare and want to tell all the families who have lost someone that when i first heard about the shootings i cried. I don’t know exactly how you all feel because i have not lost anybody so painfully, but in a way i understand the hurt and sorrow that you all have been through. The innocent students who have been killed i pray that they all go to heaven to God.

I also wanted to say to the families of the teachers, that their bravery and commitment to the students has saved many lives and to the teachers who have not survived i also pray for them. The one teacher who really touched my heart was Liviu Librescu who survived the Holocaust and died saving lives. His bravery and courage has touched the hearts of everyone who has heard about his selfless actions.

Sincerly
Alicia

As a Va Tech alumni, my heart is breaking for the family and friends of those lost. May God bless this university and all its students, past and present, who are in mourning as the world shares our grief today. May we find solace, comfort, and hope in the outpouring of support from the Hokie community as well as those that embrace what Tech stands for. The memories of these horrific losses rend our minds and choke us with their terrible brokeness.  May God bless the families who are grieving tonight.  Their lost innocents are our lost innocence.

To all the families, friends, and staff @ VT.  Please know that the “world” all shares your pain and greif.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Please remember that God does not give us anything that we cannot handle.  Although at times it feels unbearable.  I pray for your comfort and strength, and I pray for the family of the gunman.  May we put aside our anger and blame and help each other through this.  God “loves all”!!  In christian love....  Peggy

1,205 people die by smoking each day in the United States. Your all so closed minded and selfish that you don’t realize anything unless it’s out of the ordinary, even if it doesn’t compare even slightly in comparison to more important things. Open your eyes, please.
You all disgust me.

There are so many thoughts and prayers, for people we dont even know and for some a school we will never see, only but on television. We shed tears, for you. We hold our children close to us at night, with fear, and sadness. So many of us stopped in our tracks put our hands to our mouths and gasped on that day. Others were frantically trying to call someone they knew there at the campus. Always know even though alot of us dont know someone who lost their lives that day, we carry your sorrow with us, but understand we shall never comprehend the pain. My family sends their thoughts and prayers with you. Remember to heal is to forgive. The Shifflett Family
