Condolences, April 18, 2007

My heart goes out to those who lost their lives on monday, to their families and loved ones.

Words are not enough to describe the sadness and shock. I just want to say this day will not be forgotten. And I pray that nothing like this will ever happen again

my heart goes out to the grievous loss of life for your campus community. I was a police officer for 18 years, and this is indcomprehensible to me. I am constantly praying for the student body and faculty for the loss of these young kids, because to me that is what they were. they had not lived life yet. daniel dove, roanoke, virginia

My heart goes out to all of you, who have lost a beloved family member, a dear friend, an inspiring teacher or mentor, or a hopeful student. May you all give each other love to cope with your tragic loss and may our support give you strength to help you in this very difficult time.
Most of my family and friends are teachers and I know of the sacrifices they make each and every day. Your teachers however seem truly unique and they deserve our utmost respect and gratitude.
In times like these, words may often be meaningless, but may the following thought always be with you:
“When you lose a Loved one, you gain an Angel, whose Name you know”.
The world mourns with you and I want you to know, that these special souls will never be forgotten.

Love,
Dina

Once a Hokie, Always a Hokie.  And you my family now hurt.  You are faced with this tragedy that no one should ever have to experience.  Through this you have demonstrated strength, courage and love.  My prayers and thoughts are with you.  May the Lord lift you up and hold you in His hands.

These events are really tragic. But Americans fail to see the underlying cause for these shootngs. The violent movies with actors like Bruce Willis, the horror books by authors like Steven King - that is the root of the problem. The Hui student perhaps watched such violent images and then transferred them in real life. Americans must stop making movies with murders in them. Until they stop, these things will just keep happening. Because kids see things on the movie screen and then repeat that behaviour in real life. Hui is not just a madman, he is a product of the violent american movie culture.

P.P.

International students at GVSU are really shocked and horrified with the tragedy of 16th April. School, which was created to provide safe place to enhance learning and understanding became a scene for a horrible and unjustified massacre.  Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy. We are also mourning Your loss and feel Your grief. We believe that love and tolerance should rule the humanity.

From my family to the students and community to Virginia tech:

I hope that one more post amongst the hundreds (if not thousands) already here will mean something to you.  My family and I sent our sincerest condolences to the families that have lost and to those that have been affected in this tragedy.

We send our thanks to the University for handling this situation in the best way that they could have.

We also send our thanks to Nikki Giovanni for the heart felt and most inspirational poem given at the convocation.... no one could have said it better, in our opinion… thank you Dr. Giovanni.

Again, our condolences.

i just wanted to say i am so sorry for all that happened on monday.
i am 16 and have always wanted to go to virginia tech. i can not believe i turned on the tv and heard about some 30 kids dying due to a killer who was part of the school.
the scary thing is it can happen anywhere, but i am still wondering why this had to happen at virginia tech. so many innocent students died before they could start a life for themselves and get out of college.
my prayers are with all of their families.

Let me start by offering my condolences to all who have lost their loved ones in this tragedy.
I will think of the young, vibrant lives cut short so swiftly.  Lastly, pray for strength for the families who have incurred such devastating losses.

“It is one of the mysteries of our nature that a man, all unprepared, can receive a thunder-stroke like that and live.  There is but one reasonable explanation of it.  The intellect is stunned by the shock and but gropingly
gathers the meaning of the words.  The power to realize their full import is mercifully lacking.”

Dear Virginia Tech community,

My thoughts and prayers are with every single person who has been affected by this horrific event. My thoughts are with every person that feels like they are alone.

When I found out about the devastation I stayed up all morning getting updates on the internet. I cried with you.

I watched the Convocation live on the internet. I cried with you. I watched the candlelight vigil. I cried with you.

My heart is heavy at the shear amount of pain the Virginia Tech community and America is feeling at this time.

It hurts me to see you like this.

Know this, people in Australia and around the world are grieving and praying for you.

Talk to someone. Don’t bottle it up. There are people you can talk to on and off campus.

The Lord said “Fear not, for I am with you.”

Now more than ever you need to believe this promise.

Be strong.

HOKIE HOKIE HOKIE HIGH, TECH TECH VPI!!!!!

Show the world your strength.

I heard about this on the news monday. I was completely heartbroken. Experiencing much loss in my life time of close family members, I know how the victims family must feel right now. The pain may not be there forever, but the scar will always remain. My heart goes out to the victims family and friends. I will definately pray for them tonight. I don’t believe in goodbye’s. The victims families and friends will be with eachother again. Everyday is a day closer to being with them. They’re looking over you right now. They’ll always be in your heart now and forever. Keep looking up. Peace and love. <3
