Dear Brave, Courageous, and Loving Students of Virginia Tech:

Our Family (the Celotto’s and Cellini’s) are horrified by the way your love and trust in humanity has been shaken.  We are crying with all of you.  From the bottom of our hearts and souls, we are so very very sorry for your pain, anguish and sadness.  We have created a Memorial for you in our very own Garden.  When sadness and despair comes into my Life, I go to my Garden to pray and to create beauty for the loss and sadness I am feeling.  I am again crying for you and your Family and Friends.  Every student that I listen to from Virgina Tech has such a beautiful spirit of courage, respect and a commitment to help and love one another during this most difficult and horrifying time.  We Love you, we Honor you, and we are here for all of you to lean on and Love you.  Love and Friendship to all of you.  Joe and Lorrie Cellini.

Do the postings on this website immediately lesson the pain of the families and friends of the victims?  Absolutely not!  Is there anything that anyone can do to make things better?  Unfortunately, no. Do we want to help?  YES!

Perhaps with time the wounds will begin to heal, memories will be cherished, the pain will lesson, and all of VT will know that an entire nation mourned with you.  We sat by our televisions and watched in stunned silence; we cried; we held our children tighter; we lost sleep over this nightmare; we prayed for you.

We can grieve as one, as Americans not separated by race, sex, or religion.  We can get angry at this senseless violence.  And hopefully at some point, we will be galvanized into action to prevent this travesty from ever happening again.

VT:  May you find peace in this time of pain.  My heart breaks for you.

I lie in bed and images of the day flash in my head
Gunman, massacre, people dead
Va. Tech, Va. Tech, Va. Tech

These aren’t the images I associate with Va. Tech.
The images should be the drill field,
sisterhood, classes,
Corp of Cadets, football, friends,
Purple passion, tailgates,
A piece of heaven on a sun shining day.

But Hell showed up on Earth instead and
Now many people are in Heaven.
Why?  We may never know.
My heart swells and my tears over flow.

The world will now know the university I love,
But the name will be a reminder of a dark side.
I will remember Ut Prosim;
I will serve my alma mater,
I will support it during this loss,
I will wear the colors boldly and
Continue to be filled with Hokie Pride.

I used to be a visiting scholar at Virginia Tech, in 98/99. I never got back to Blacksburg, just because I didn’t have the chance, since I have always loved those places and saved a good memory of a wonderful experience. Going back to a gorgeous past through those present terrible images, gives me such a pain that I can only try to convince myself that there is no explanation to all this tragedy. There is no logic into mental insanity. And I know that sorrow and anger grow up inside ourselves along with impotence.
I will keep on being proud to tell people, here, in Italy, about my experience in VT, about the strength, the pride, the intelligence and beauty of a people that arises again from blows inflicted with even more strength.
My prayer goes to all the innocent souls and their families and friends and I wish I could be there with them for joining their sorrow

To my beloved Hokie Community:

Together we are stronger than the fear and tragedy created by any one person.  Lift your heads up and show the world that we are proud to be Hokies and that we will not, under any circumstance, be made to live our lives in fear.  Together we are strong.  We always stand together.  Hooah!

We are The Hokies!

I work at Hillsdale College in Michigan.  I work both in the residant halls and public buildings.  I would just like all at VT to know that students, faculty, and staff at Hillsdale College were shocked by the news.  We are wishing you all the very best as you move on.  I can’t help, but wonder how Hillsdale College would have dealt with something like this.  While I would like to think we would handle it well, I would like those at VT to know that in a time of should have, could have, and would haves I have nothing, but respect for the way VT faculty and students alike have dealt with this.  You are all models to us.  I think Hillsdale is a close campus as far as student, faculty, and staff relationships.  Even so, I was moved to tears as I have watched the way you have all come together in this time of crisis.  Even those who lost loved ones seem to support the college.  This isn’t the time to criticize.  Nobody can plan for this.  This is a time to mourn those lost and heal those still here.

Everyone at Virginia Tech is in the prayers of my family.  As the parent of a college student, I know how proud the parents are of the accomplishments their children made by making it to the college level.  I cannot know the heartache each of the families must feel right now but can only pray that God keeps you in his arms and gives you the strength to get through this horrible time.  Keep all memories of your loved ones alive now and forever. Your pain at the loss of your loved ones will never go away but will become less severe day by day. My prayers are also for all the students, faculty and friends left behind to grieve and question the events of 4-16-07. Remember that you are not alone as you travel down this road.
