Condolences, April 18, 2007

I would like to send my condolences to the whole Virginia Tech community.  Our community went through this in October with the Amish school shootings.  I was one of the first EMT’s on the scene on October 2, 2006.  This brought back those painful feelings that were just starting to subside.  Please know that the healing will come eventually.  You will have to get used to a new normal; it will never be the same.  My prayers are with you!!!!

My son and I visited VT last year.  Everybody we met on campus talked about how VT felt like home and going there was like going to school with family.  We are deeply saddened by this tragedy and hope that the VT family remains strong and gets through this together.

My son just recently received his letter of admission and he is proud to be a Hokie!!

I am too currently a college student and I can only imagine what was going thru the minds of those who were directly and indirectly involved in this senseless tragedy.

Hell holds a special place for the sick individual that did this.

My thoughts, love, condolences, and prayers goes out to all that was affected by this ordeal.

This surreal tragedy at our beloved school has weighed heavy on my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to ALL families affected by this disaster. I especially pray for the souls and families of the deceased who are suffering beyond our wildest dreams. I pray for the Seung-Hui family and for Cho. What went wrong? What was so horrible that he couldn’t reach out for help or resolve his inner demonic feelings without hurting other innocent people? I am saddened by such an occurrence at such a beautiful, serene, quaint and memorable campus. Even though I have been gone for 33 years, I am still tied to the campus, have many lifetime friends from there and many fond and everlasting memories. This will not deter the magic and bond we all feel toward each other and toward the school.
It takes sadness and hurt to appreciate true joy.

I believe that the words of Nikki Giovanni during her speech say everything. You are Virginia Tech, you will come out of this terrible tragedy stronger and better people than you were yesterday. I offer my prayers for the entire Hokie Family.  Words can not express the feelings that the entire world has towards this and you do not stand alone in your time of grief.  My you find the strength to help you along your path.

Hi There,

My partner and I were truly touched by the unity your community has shown sine this terrible tradegy. You should all be so proud of yourselves for the heartwarming way you have joined together to console and comfort one another.
My heart and my tears go to the victims and their families but my thoughts and prayers are with you all to wish that you continue to grow and make one another proud rather than let this event change your hearts

I was really shocked when hearing from this tragedy from a Chinese website.I could not imagine initially that this was done by a Chinese student as reported by a media. However when the subsequent report disclosed that the real shooter is an Korean,I still felt very much depressed. As an international student,I do not speak quite often either, however I am always prepared to share my feelings of different things with my friends in a very relaxing environment, which makes me feel very comfortable even under high working and studying pressure. The shooter’s English professor was exactly right, she has tried her best in order to try to help the shooter to be more approachable, however due to the negligence and the policy issues, the response was too late to prevent the happening of the campus shooting.

I really would like to express my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased students as well as professors.i sincerely hope that you all could get recovered very soon and I believe that you are strong and you are proud to be your children’s parents/family members coz they are really good!

Hokies, I love you. I understand the greif that is being felt all over Blacksburg and throughout the Hokie nation. I had a few losses on Mon. I just want to urge everyone to stay strong for each other so that we can be strong for ourselves as well. It is very important that we carry on the spirit and the great sense of community we have in Blacksburg for those who died. I think that Virginia Tech as a whole has done a wonderful job with this very difficult task so far and I expect it to continue. The compassion that I have felt from everyone is so appreciated. It makes me love my Hokies even more. God Bless everyone. Peace be with you.

As a resident of the state of PA, I found myself staring at the news in disbelief on 04/16/07.  What a horrific act.  What I watched on TV in the aftermath was a community sticking together and helping one another like never before.  What a strong group of people you truly are.  The number of heroes arising from this act is beautiful and amazing.  You are all truly courageous people.  Please, please, please seek help from professionals and each other in this time and remember, ‘time heals all wounds’ and I hope time does indeed heal your wounds.  You have the hearts and prayers of American and many other people all over the world.  Stay safe and heal.

Dear Loving God,
We don’t understand why we have to have the tragedy today and don’t understand Your purpose in taking our brothers and sisters in VirginiaTech in such a senseless and cruel act. But please allow us only trust in You that our brothers and sisters no longer suffer and are safe in Your hands, and that You give their families comfort and peace. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

I was deeply shaken to hear of the tragedy that came upon the other side of globe. I trust in God that His purpose will be revealed maybe not in this World but in the next. The prayers of our family are with you all. From the other side of globe, but your neighbor who wants to be your brother…
