I cannot even begin to find the words regarding this incident. Every thought that comes to mind is an understatement. I have a 14 year old daughter whom I will send off to college in 4 or 5 years. She is my only child and If something were to happen to her there wouldn’t be any reason for me to live. In the past I have buried a son. It is a different type of pain. I personally think that people use the terms “begin the healing process” “lets get closure” don’t know what they are talking about. I am going to keep it real with everyone out there. You don’t ever completely heal 100% and there is no closure 100%.
What really happens is that your tradgedy becomes more permanent. This is the real human experience.
Try to stay strong. Give it to God. Hold on to each other. Get help if you need it. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

I don’t know how to put this in a way that I would be able to explain that I am with you in the grief for what happened to Virginia Tech.

It’s the hardest thing to think that I, myself, would lose someone dear and special to me, which is why I can’t even imagine what the VA Tech is experiencing now.

I just hope that all things will be healed in the right time.

You’re all in my prayers for the coming nights, we will overcome this tragic experience together, maybe not physically and personally but by heart, trust me on that.

May G-d grant all the affected families comfort during this difficult time. As I started to read the profiles of some of the student and faculty, I could only think of how valuable life is and how what we could learn from the lives of these outstanding individuals. We should aprreciate what we have in our own lives, and strive to continue to contibute good to this world in memory of those who will longer be with us.

I am very sorry for the pain and anguish that you are feeling. I am a college student and I am very sad that something like this could happen. I am deeply saddened by these recent painful events on the VT campus, and my heart and prayers go out to everyone involved and impacted by this senseless tragedy.

There really aren’t words to express what happened, or why.  Some things defy explanation and remain truly a mystery.  Life is beautiful and precious, but fragile.  There is the good, and there is the bad.  But nothing is stronger than God’s love, and the Human Spirit.

I can’t imagine the loss of so many beautiful, heroic Human Beings; but I have faith that you will all begin to heal in time.  Be patient, as beyond the hurting is the healing.  That time will come, and hope does float.

God Bless every single one of you for your courage and perseverance during this dark time.  Beyond the darkness of human tragedy, there is always light.  And that light will shine from above.

My sincere condolences for your loss, and sympathies for what you are going through.  But please remember you are stronger than you know, and love shall rise again.

All that I can say is that I have never been more proud to be a Hokie.  The strength of our community is evident as shown on every media channel during this most trying time.  God Bless the families and friends of the victims.  Your grief is shared by Hokies worldwide.  May that thought alone comfort you in the days ahead.

Kind hearts now still,
with dreams at peace,
all now in their restful sleep,

Think not of their passing,
smile with their spirit,
the joy you shared,
eluminates the darkness,

tears will fade,
but memories stay,
their lives taken,
but love remains,
to guide and warm you,
through lifes winters,

Dedicated to all the families, friends and survivors.

Handcut limestone, pink, red, gray
What did you see on this cold, dark day?
Promise lying motionless, taken away.

Sweet native stone, a day so queer.
What were the sounds? What did you hear?
Gunshots. Weeping. Tangible fear.

Born of a quarry, what could you feel?
One heart as cold as January steel, and
Wounds so deep maybe nothing can heal.

Old Hokie Stone what can we do?
Ut Prosim, forever shall be true.
We’ll remember the fallen, the young thirty-two.

This is Vidur Malhotra from the Class of 2004(Finance). I am back in India now and am still in a state of shock and utter disbelief that of all the places in the world, Va Tech, where I spent the most peaceful and memorable years of my life could be attacked like this.
I offer my condolences to all the victims’ families but I urge all Hokies to unite, stay strong and pass this test with flying colors. I broke down in tears when I saw everyone screaming “Lets Go Hokies!” at the end of the convocation. I am sure that it will take time but I hope that the family atmosphere that makes Blacksburg such a special place remains.
Stay strong everybody and dont let this change your never-say-die attitude. You are all blessed to be at an amazing place dont ever forget that
