Condolences, April 18, 2007

It is with great sadness we all follow the news update on television.
So many lives, gone forever; so many knowledge and wisdom of students and professors wiped out for nothing.

We pray for you all and for your great country.
may God bless The United States of America and Virginia Tech

Terrible, just terrible. To have ones life taken in a freak accident is one thing, but this is an absolutely senseless waste of young human beings.

How I wish I could take away your pain.

As a mother of two who have graduated from VT recently and whose one son was an Engineering Grad student and lived at AJ, this tragedy has hit close to home. My thoughts, prayers and heart felt sorrow go out to the parents, family and friends of those who were killed and those who were injured. And special prayers to those who tried to protect others when they themselves were at risk.
VT has been a wonderful home and a great place for both of my children to build for their futures. My hope is that VT can overcome this tragedy and move forward so that others can have this place to build their futures also.
Let us pray for all the college campuses and the safety of those who attend especially those at VT in these next months. May God put His healing hand on all of those who are hurting and keep them close.

I am a USC Trojan.  From now, however, on every April 16, I will be a HOKIE.  I am the father of three college students (and one soon-to-be college student).  I cannot even begin to imagine the pain that the parents of these fine young people must feel.  My prayers are with the parents, relatives and friends of the victims of this senseles event.  I hope and pray that you find the strength and the serenity to make it through the very difficult days ahead.  Please know that we all share in your grief.  Also, please know that we are all very proud of the things that your children, and loved ones, achieved in their lives.  God Bless You all.  Peace!

I am a university student myself, to hear such sad news has made me look at life differently, this should never happen at an university. My heart goes out to the victims and their families and to the university itself. God bless and may something good come out of such a senseless tradgedy in the name of the victims for the victims.

Dear Virginia Tech Students,

also here in the Netherlands we think about you. It’s really a tragedy and also the people in Holland and whole europe are shocked by this tradgedy. Two years ago we lost a student on a camp. He also died. I feel your pain. Let love be your energy, but first realise that this tradgedy is something to take very very serious. Take care and my thoughts go out to you all!

I feel for you, and I know how it feels. I’m an 18 years old from Iraq, and things alike are happening to my people all the time. Relatives and friends killed, a brother shot, and me myself being tortured are things I have to face.

I am so sorry you have to go through all this. Nobody should. But that’s one of the things some of us, unfortunately, have to go through in life.

For the families of the victims: God bless you all. I wish you the best with all my heart. The big ‘’why’’ will always be there, but you can blur it with the good your loved ones have done in their lives and the amount of love millions of people around the world are showing.

For America: Enforce stricter gun control. I say that not only for the horror that has just happened, but for the possibilities that what happened on 9/11 made thinkable. Don’t let the weapons reach the evil minded. Please.

Also, reach out for the lonely, for the isolated, and make them part of the society. If you don’t do it out of love and care(which should be the case,) do it to prevent things like this from happening again. Please.

I wish you all the best and hope that you find the strength to overcome this soon. I know you will.

The more I hear about this horrible tragedy, the more I honestly cannot believe it happened.  It makes me ill.  All I can do is pray that peace comes to each of you quickly, so that the suffering inflicted by one very sick individual does not continue to take its toll on your hearts and minds.

I am so sorry that you all have been so deeply hurt, but do not let these events crush your spirits.  Celebrate the lives of those lost and move on, when the time comes, to pursue your passions and dreams.  Love each other.

April 18, 2007, 6:01am • Austin, TX • #7564

Thank you for what you’ve done as a community and family, pulling together in the face of this incomprehensible loss and grief.  The rest of the world shares this grief with you, you are not alone.  We will never forget those who’re hurting, those tears shed for the dear friends, brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers.  Each person killed was precious, full of promise and life. We’ve lost many good people. The people recovering, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep fighting.

Change will come. Do not hide from the questions or the tears. It will get better in time.

My condolences, to those at Virgina Tech and their families. There is an old saying, “One person can make a difference”. Don´t let this one person make a difference in your lives. Finish what all of you have started at VT. Your education, your friendships with other students, facility, and people in the area. Don´t forget what has happened, it´s o.k. to be sad, angry, or in disbelief. But never give up !!!
