I just feel concerned thinking that these tragedies occur at all and might occur again anywhere in the world, maybe here at the campus where I work, maybe at the campus where my children will study in 20 years.
My prayers go to the families of the victims. Do not let your pain turn to despair and your claim for justice to hate

I am a student from iowa city.. University of Iowa

We are hawkeyes, but today, and for a while, deeper inside, we are all Hokies and proudly
we wear maroon and orange.  We remember those who died and pay tribute to their lives.
We will remember each and one of them, and we are forever gratefull to the students that
barricade the doors, and to the holocaust survivor that gave his life to protect his
students.  I just hope that I will have the courage to do that someday.

I am one of the hokies, I proudly wear their colors.  For a moment and for a while I
don’t live in Iowa City, I live in Blacksburg, Virginia.  My friends were killed, my
professor died, but I stand up to violence and hate… I am a hoky and a hawkeye and I
stand proudly.

Words fail me at time, but i just had to say what words i can muster.

As i look at the picture of Emily Hilscher, i look at her bright wide smile, and those sparkling shiny eyes and i think “What a waste”.

I lost close freinds in a staduim accident 18 years ago, the pain and memorys are still felt.

My god take all who where slain into his house.

I still cannot believe how one of us could do such things. Nobody can decide upon other’s life. We all have the right to live and no one can take that away from us. And still...they do!
It’s so sad!

The grief and sorrow you are going through is pain no one would understand; it is indescribable.  Unable to understand this reality, denial swallows you up.  Refusing to listen to the truth, you box yourself in a world where it is always night without stars; you walk on a road with cracked stones; you wander into a land where there is no water and no grass.  This time is hard and we know.  But you have to realize that there are many people out there feeling the same way as you.  They are hurting, too.  There are millions and billions of people who have lost their friends and family members.  The important thing is that they walked through it.  They had their faith and believed that they could do this, that they could get past this.

Many dreams are being put to rest today.  The dreams of those lost that would have shaped our world.  Those who were taken away are now Angels watching over you all.  Remeber thier dreams. Fulfill thier dreams by completing what they now can not.  Dreams are whispers brought to us on the wings of Angels.  As they whisper thier dreams to you, know that they will always be with you.  Bless you all. Please know that there are people out here who care and are here to help.  Love,

The Paul, Brenda and Dani Jo Keene

Sirs & Madams, The US must ensure there are adequate security checks in public places.  I was in the US myself several years and understand the situation well. In all possibility, the outburst of an angry frustrated individual could be fatal. The “art of living” by sri sri Ravishankar would be an excellent peace maker to help people in the US learn to understand themselves and control their negative emotions.

My heartfelt condolences to the families struggling to restore themselves from this horrific incident.

In a sense, we are all victims of this horrible tragedy.  We must band together to mourn and we must band together to heal.  Although the day is dark, our school will again see light.  My prayer is our students have not died in vain.  Hokies, let’s take the leadership role and help make campus life safer for students and faculty at Universitys everywhere. May God continue to guide our campus leadership in this healing process.  May the grace of God be with our Virginia Tech familiy.
