Know that the thoughts of the world are with you all; your spirit and strength at this time is a big maroon beacon. Watching the events on the news I am moved by the solidarity of the student body.  People from around the world should buy VT sweaters and caps as a sign of support and faith in the in Virginia Tech and the courageous students and faculty at this time. I know I will

My deepest sympathy goes out to VT and VT families of the victims, being a Texas Aggie our school is unfortunately familiar with campus tragedy. Although our tragedy was an unfortunate accident, with no malicious intent, it was devastating to our Aggie family and our entire campus was touched regardless. It was in that tragic moment that all Aggies pulled together and showed what we were made of as people, students, and a campus. This week we hold our campus Muster where we honor and recognize all the Aggie that have passed that year, on Saturday when I attend our College Station Aggie Muster, I will say a prayer and say a quiet “Here” in honor of the Hokies. God bless you and be with you in your healing.

I am a sophomore at Birmingham-Southern College. I know that I can speak for my fellow students that we are all shocked at your loss and this tragedy. We offer hope, thoughts, prayers, and any action we are capable of. I know many of our students are now displaying a picture of the vt black ribbon on their facebook to show support. I will be wearing one the rest of the week and I hope more will do the same. Please know that the world is grieving with you.

To all the people affected, involved, and bothered by the tragedy VT has suffered,

My heart goes out to everyone who has been dismayed by the events that took place. I want to apologize to the families who have lost their loved ones, to the families whose children have been injured, and the the families and all involved who will have to live the the tramatic events that happened. We will all get through this together as a family. Everyone has been touched in one shape or form by what happened and it is up to the strong ones to be there to lend a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to listen. No person deserves what has happened at VT. My condolences again go out to everyone who has anything to do with VT, this will be an even that is hard to overcome, but it will be done~!~ You are in my thoughts, I wish there was more I could do! Stay strong, and keep your head up~

It is such an awful thing for anyone to go through. The people who have died will live on in the hearts and minds of their loved ones and indeed in all of us.

I followed the sad story on CNN, from the other side of the world.Mostly because my uncle is a lecturer at VT and my family needed to make sure he was ok.But the more I read about this, the closer I became to the victims and the survivors. What a cruel thing to happen to a bunch of intelligent students and their teachers… I hope the (mentally and physically)wounded recover soon and are able to lead a normal life again.

The Memory of 4/16

Life is explained by ways we will never know,
By things done in ways we can’t explain or show
But tragedies happen, and heaven cries,
And it makes the human race open its eyes
We will never forget the Hokies

We think about our family and friends,
All our great moments, the starts, the ends,
And how in just a few moments our lives can change,
It feels unnerving, uneasy, and strange,
We will always pray for the Hokies

And though many of us from far and near,
Knew no one hurt, but still shed a tear,
We are all felling the anguish and pain,
And it hurts from the outside, in every single vein,
We will remember the Hokies

And as we move forward and say our goodbyes,
To those who lost their lives, we must stand tall and rise,
For though their bodies have ascended to heaven, their memory still stays,
As we think about their lives and cherished moments, we give them praise,
For Today, We are ALL HOKIES!

My heartfealt condolences, thoughts, and prayers go out to the families, friends, and the entire Virginia Tech community. Know that you do not grieve alone, I and indeed the entire country mourn with you. Stay strong and know that God is with you.

This is a poem that helped me through my mothers death...I hope it can be a comfort to others…

When I have come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me
I want no rights in a grief filled room, why cry for a soul set free
Miss me a little, but not too long, and not with you, head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss Me, but let me go
For this is a journey that we all must take
and each must go alone
It’s all a part of the Masters plan,
a step on the road to home
So when you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know
And busy your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss Me, but let me go.

As a biomath student at NYU and the University of Copenhagen, I know one of your professors, John Tyson, and he exemplifies the academic and scientific excellence at Virginia Tech. I cannot, with words, convey the sadness I feel over this senseless loss and my heart goes out to all those affected by it. With confidence, I look forward to seeing Virginia Tech show the world how a shattered community can return from the depths of hell to be, once again, a place of promise, dreams and achievements.

I think the guy below me is a prick.  Even though what the shooter did was wrong, we should pass judgement on him. Why?  Because we don’t know what was going on his life to make him do such a horrible act.  We should all learn how to be friends with people that are “loners.” We should reach out and embrace them instead of letting me be alone.

I just want it to be known that students all over campuses across the country are sending their deepest thoughts and prayers to all the citizens and students of Blacksburg.  At my campus and at others there is much mourning, praying, and hoping.  All we can do is hope..  That one day normalcy can return to your beautiful town and that everybody in your residence is okay and safe.

May the Lord forgive our sins
And gather all the nations
Here under this Uniting Roof.
To give up hate and fear
And learn to understand
Here under this Uniting Roof.
They took the risks of war
and dying, wished us take
the better risks of peace
Here under this Uniting Roof.
The God in everyman
is an atom too
of measureless potential.
Let us learn to find it
And explode it into lasting peace
Here under this Uniting Roof.
May the Lord forgive our sins
Inspiring us to peace on Earth
Here under this Uniting Roof.
