MY HEART GOES OUT TO EVERYONE AT VIRGINIA TECH. I cant stop thinking about it and cannot possibly imagine what they are going through. I feel so bad for the families, students, and every one else. I wish there was something I could do, its horrible. I felt wierd walking around my campus today. In every class we talked about it, on every sign in town it mentions it.... Its like a bad dream that actually happened, and I hope for healing to those effected and guidance to those in need, and that this never happens again. God bless

To the Va Tech community,

This is a great loss that will never be forgotten, and those that were lost will always live in our hearts.  Although I did not know any of the deceased, I still feel an immense sense of sympathy for those who were directly affected as well as the Tech community.

It will important in the days to come that while we must honor those that have passed, we must be resilient as well.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Hokies.

Sincerely,

P. Tandon

My prayers and thoughts are with you.  I am in Durant ok, and have recently learned that one of the students killed was a cousin to 2 students that my kids go to school with.  It is a small world, and something like this only makes it seem more so.

Our ANGELS have fallen!  They are embarking on a new journey now. We must go on without them as much as it hurts on this journey of our own.  PEACE be with us all.  To the one whom are connected with the fallen ANGELS my heart is extended to you....if i could reach across the miles and hold you I would.  If I could help take away your pain I would..but i can not...You must find the strength within yourselves to carry on...CELEBRATE their short lives..For you are fortunate to have know these fallen ANGELS than not to have known them at all…
I shed real tears of sorrow for you all. I wish you great strength for the upcoming times for they will be difficult.  For the survivors of this unbelieveable tradgdy peace be with you as you try and overcome all you encounter, good and bad.....we may not understand and probably never will...just know that whatever you encounter there is always is someone to talk to if only you ask....mt heart and soul is with you as my thoughts...please take my stength and go forward....tears upons us all Denise

Having graduated from Virginia Tech in 1982, I can only say that seeing this ordeal is like seeing a fond, old friend in pain and that friend is VT. I feel that pain. The spirit of the students, faculty and staff then and now is what makes VT like an old friend. I sincerely hope the healing process begins soon. My prayers go out to all those who lost a son, daughter, father, mother, wife, husband or friend. My prayers go out to those who were injured.
Take care, Brian

In Silence

Beyond the campus,
In towns and cities worldwide,
A river of sadness flows,
For the lost and the injured,
For the victims and the families,
Silence continues to grow.

Words cannot be found,
Images cannot be forgotten,
Terror inside school walls,
Shattered windows of time,
Cries of anguish set free,
Silence now fills the halls.

Beyond Virginia Tech,
We all feel the impact,
Tears of pain are found,
The reality of desperation,
Joining hands to find hope,
Silence falling to the ground.

Prayers across the country,
So many candles to light,
Sympathy mixed with fear,
Compassion for the living,
Broken hearts never to heal,
Silence hanging loud and clear.

I want to express how truly saddened I am by this tragic event. I went to Virginia Tech last year, and it hurts so badly to see you guys suffering. If there’s one thing I learned in my short time at Virginia Tech, it’s that everyone there is a family and is so proud of their school and what they stand for. Now that I am at UVA, I realize that our rivalry only makes us a closer family, especially in trying times such as these. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be as we all struggle together to get through the days and weeks ahead.

Once a Hokie, always a Hokie,
Melissa

My heart goes out to your university family. There are no easy answers for your loss. The God of all of us is here, even in the darkness, to heal and guide you through these times. Remember your brave, who sought to save students even when their own lives were at risk. Please know that the rest of the world is praying for your healing. We cannot know your pain, but we grieve with you and ask God for mercy and hope. My children ask me “why”, and I can’t give them an answer--only that God loves us.

As an educator of more than thirty years, one who has had thousands of students, who has experienced many changes, this senseless act stuns me.  I am deeply saddened that young people today must have lock down drills, must have sirens to warn them of danger, must have security guards to search them and must have surveillance cameras to watch them. Please know I share your grief, disbelief and loss.  My heart goes out to each and every victim and the families of the victims.  Arlene

Here at Bryn Mawr College, we stand with you, Virginia Tech.
Tonight, we also held a vigil.  We feel a loss as well, a loss of fellow college students, those with the same goals as us. I know that many of us here feel that we have lost our friends as well, that this loss could have happened anywhere, to any of us. I feel deeply sad and wish you all the best.  Know that you are not alone; we will remember with you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the individuals affected by this tragedy.  We must come together and strive to make this world a better, more peaceful place - to give our children a wonderful world to grow up in.  As a former Hokie (82 - 84) I am so saddened that this happened, especially at such a wonderful school.  I hope that in time Va Tech will be known for the great school that it has always been, instead of as a place of such tragedy.  God be with everyone

My thoughts and prayers go out to each and every person that was affected by this horrible, horrible tragedy.  Yes, even to the one responsible for this, and his famiy.  In no way do I make light of what he has done to so many families through the loss of innocent lives, and so many hopes and dreams.  I just wonder how sad he must have been to act out in such a horrible way. Nobody knows if his inner conflicts were real or imagined, but he had to be suffering so much to do this.  We are all born as clean slates that are molded through different experiences.  This is what makes us unique from each other in how we think and deal with things.  Unfortunately, for reasons we don’t know, he became very angry, and bitter , and took it out on so many innocent people.  You now have to learn to cope with an experience that most of us will never, ever have, and if I had the power I would rewind time and spare you all from this nightmare. Just continue to love each other and support each other through this. If you see someone struggling, crying, or angry from it all (and you will)just wrap your arms around them, hold them and love them, and know that so many people around the world are holding and loving you in our hearts and prayers.

My heart goes out Prof; G.V.Loganathan, his wife and his daughters. I also-like him graduated from IIT-Kanpur in India. I too come from the South of India like him- and am faculty at a ME-AE dept at SJSU. Why him and not me ? I would trade places with him so he may have had some more time with his family-his students- his friends.
What can I do to console his family ? WHat can I do to console his students and friends.
