As a student at Clemson University, I feel personally connected as a member of one of your sister land-grant schools and sister-ACC schools and have also been affected by your losses.  I am so sorry and wish there was more that I could do in this time of need for strength and support.  My prayers are with each and every family and member of the Virgina Tech community.  Godspeed.

Citizens of the world will always come together when we are faced with challenges. May this incident remind us all to cherish life and our loved ones. I send my thoughts and prayers to the friends and family of the victims.

Let this be a wake up call to the government that society is threatened everyday with guns and that action must be taken immediately.

April 19, 2007, 12:25am • Toronto • #25909

I find it interesting that the media doesn’t want to identify the shooter as American. Some say this is because he doesn’t deserve such a credit.

Citizens are products of their society.
And this society doesn’t want to take part of the weight on its shoulders. It’s the media’s way of trying to say “He’s not to be associated with America.”.

Like Columbine, it’s only AFTER an incidence that the NRA is being prodded at, once again.

Of course I’m not saying America produces mass-murders.

I am American, and I’m proud of it.

What a dispictable horrific act, what suffering has been inflicted upon all of us, especially the parents and familes of these victims. I just keeping asking, why ? All these children were doing, was exactly what they were suppose to do, what we all pray our own children will do,, they simply were trying to getting an education, going to class and for that they paid with their lives. My most deepest and heartfelt sympathies to the parents, familes, students and my fellow Virginians. God grant you the strength to endure.

Some people will blame upbringing, video games, violence on TV, easy access to weapons/NRA, mental illness, etc. on it.

Humans are influenced by their environment: mental, physical, social, psychological, and personal.

It’s never just ONE thing that triggers something like this, it’s always a culmination of several factors.

But one thing I believe in for sure: it takes someone really disturbed, or someone in a really desperate/life-threatening situation to murder even ONE soul.

For those who fell victim to this unfortunate event, and for those families and friends who must adjust with the loss of a loved one, I feel truly sorry for you. I wish there was a way to take away your pain, but no matter what I or America says, or does - it cannot turn back the wheels of time.

We must look ahead and hope for better times. We must be strong and endure the hardships presented to us.

We must learn from our mistakes. We must move towards resolution and progress.

It breaks my heart to hear of so many injured and gone, and I can not imagine what your going through at this moment. As a mother of two, it makes me wonder how someone could be so sick minded, and wish death to fellow classmates or anyone in general. School once was a safe place for our children to be, but as we all see, it seems to be the most dangerous place. Yes, we do live in a terrible world, a world that we have created, destroyed, and continue to destroy with events like this.

My prayers and condolences go out to the families, faculty, and VT students, that are affected by this tragic incident. For those of us still here, there is nothing we can do but pray and hope that this does not happen again.

Be strong, and always know that God never leaves our side. He is here for all of us and knows what you all are going through.

When I woke up this past Monday (4/16/07) to see the story breaking about the tragic events occurring on the Virginia Tech campus I was immediately sent back to how I felt waking up the morning of 9/11, at which time I was a student attending VT. It was an all too familiar gathering of emotions as I felt the same chills go down my spine, followed by confusion, anger, and ultimately great sadness. I pray for the friends and families of each of the victims and send out my deepest condolences. As the healing process begins, I stand proud to be a Hokie and as a member of a community who I know will only grow closer and more united as a result of these events.

Some mistakes, even when we change a little, repeat themselves and we learn that we should have changed a lot the first time.

And still others, no matter what you do, there’s still the factor or unpredictability (or the fact that there are too many factors to be considered), that leads to a repeat of history.

What is America going to do? And will this added security measure be enough to prevent something like this from happening again? I sure hope so.

Tis life, and the answers aren’t so clear here.

When I saw and heard what was happening at VT, I felt as I were there with you because I cried with you.Here is a prayer for you in your time of help. Hear my words,O Lord,listen to my sighing; Here my cry for help,myking,my God! To you I pray,O Lord; at dawn you will here my cry; at dawn I will plead before you and wait. You are not a God who delights in evil; no wicked person finds refuge with you; the arrogant cannot stand before you. You hate all who do evil; you destroy all who speak falsely. Murderers and deceivers the Lord abhors. But I can enter your house because of your great love. I can worship in your holy temple because of my reverence for you, Lord. Guide me in your justice because of my foes; make straight your way before m. For there is no sincerity in their mouths; their hearts are corrupt. Their throats are open graves; on their tongues are subtle lies. Declare them guilty,God; make them fall by their own devices. Drive them out for their many sins; they have rebelled against you. Then all who take refuge in you will be glad and forever shout for joy. Protect them that you may be the joy of those who love your name. For you, Lord, bless the just; you surround them with favor like a shield.

It is always sad to see some of the greatest minds wasted by another’s hate.
It is sad to see those who are in a place to better them selves and the world around them wasted by another’s hate.
I did not know any of the ones lost or hurt by this tragic turn of events.
But it still hurts.
We must go on even after this.
Not forgetting the ones lost.
And grow into the people we set out to be before this tragic event.
My prayers go out to the families of those lost and hurt.

I wish condolences and sympathy for the victims, their families, and friends. May God be with you all, and give you the strength to carry on. I pray to God that the evil which provoked this attack will be forever removed from the earth. Hopefully, the lord has spared those in harms way to allow them to spread the word. In John 8:31-32 Jesus says;
“If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
For truth of knowledge is the foundation of conventional wisdom.
A very wise man once wrote;
“It is clear, then, that wisdom is knowledge having to do with certain principles and causes. But now, since it is this knowledge that we are seeking, we must consider the following point: of what kind of principles and of what kind of causes is wisdom, the knowledge?” (Aristotle)
And a very smart man once wrote;
“We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if humanity is to survive.(Albert Einstein)
For those on campus who know the truth, let it continue, honor your friend’s passage, the truth shall set you free. Spread the love, love thy neighbor, spread the truth, Jesus did.
God Bless
