To All VT Faculty, Students, Family, and Friends,

You are in my deepest thoughts and continued prayers.  Times are tough right now, but God has much better things in store for you.  Have faith and take one day at a time to recover from your grief.  Cry as often as needed and express your feelings NOW...don’t let your emotions build up.  May God lay His mighty hand of mercy and grace upon everyone.

Hold your heads high Hokies and reach for the stars…

God, Please help those in need involved with the shootings that took place this morning at Virginia Tech. I pray that all of the victims, dead and alive, seek solace in you, God. I ask that you lead the souls of the stolen into your kingdom, and light the path of the man responsible. I pray that all of the victims reap the treasures of your grace in your kingdom. I give the families all the blessings that a man can give in your name, Lord. I command angels, in your holy name, Lord, to the side of those in need. I know, God, that what happened this morning was not your will, but the will of Evil. Your will shall overcome, God, and may justice be served in your name, Jesus. Your will is always good, God, and I see that. Give those martyred in your name all the treasures I have lain in heaven. Jesus Christ is my King, and I am his servant. Bring those stolen safely home to you, Jesus. Amen.

To everyone touched by this tragedy…

My heart and thoughts and prayers go out to you. As a college graduate, I’m a firm believer in the value and necessity of higher education. As the President said, these institutions ARE supposed to be sanctuaries. I know you’re floundering at the heinous violation of that sanctuary now, but your community will not only survive, you will THRIVE. For that’s what we do. It might take some time, but it will happen. The entire nation has you in our hearts and though I’m an alumni of a Laker variety, I’d like to say a rousing echo of other posts and GO HOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Our prayers go out to all of those who are so tragically affected.  Our ability to feel your pain is beyond belief, however, we do have 2
grandchildren in a local college and know this could have happened on this campus.  Just know that you are remembered and prayed for daily.

Go Hokies!
My family and I offer our condolences to the families and members of VT.  I am a native Virginian now living in AL. My church family prayed for VT and the families tonight and will continue to pray.  I have a son who is 22 and his name is also Michael Vick and he was a Hokie fan. Whenever the games were on television he was glued to the TV rooting for the Hokies and so was I.  Even if I live in Tide country or Auburn Tigers I most definitely root for the HOKIES.
Our family will continue our prayers that God will see you through this tragedy and turn it into victory for His glory.  Just keep praising the name of Jesus in this time of sorrow and He will see you through this.  God bless you and be with you.

God Loves you,

The Powers & Vick Family

My heart breaks for each student, family, faculty member there at VT.  You are all in my prayers and thoughts.  Our colleges in Tyler, TX and the surrounding communities are having candlelight ceremonies here in honor of the wonderful people who moved on from this cruel world into a perfect place, where there is no sadness, pain, or sorrow.  This has affected the entire nation and brought people back to their knees in prayer again….maybe we can invite God and prayer back to school since He is the one who provides the strength we need in times like these!!!  Keep the faith and know that all of America loves you!

Fellow Students at VT,

A lot has been spoken and written about the massacre at VT.  Evidence emerging from the killer’s succide message and those who knew him point to an incoherent presumptive blame on society around the university campus, and suspecious observations of a sick man.  Mr. Cho is nothing more than a lunatic who responded to the calling of his sick mind.  Unfortunately, the university has no means of knowing the help he needed.  It could not have known because the university is not in the business of healthcare, rather it is in the business of education.  May the souls of those who lost their life rest in peace.

As a former Virginia Tech student, my heart breaks for my beloved, beautiful University.  As a former member of the VT Rescue Squad, I pray the EMTs can heal from what they have been through.  As the wife of a police officer, my heart goes out to every officer who felt helpless that day.  As a mother, words can’t describe how saddened I am.  As a physician, I cannot begin to comprehend the senseless loss of young, vibrant life.
God Bless the students, faculty and families of Virginia Tech.  God Bless little, innocent Blacksburg Virginia -the best college town in the world.  I hope my sons are Hokies some day!

I am a student at the University of New Hampshire. I watched this tradegy unfold on tv Monday morning and since then I have been glued to it. I am so angry and saddened by what happened. The lives taken were beautiful. I don’t understand why these things happen, because these people did not deserve to die. I pray for all of the victims. God, I ask that you help ease the pain of the families. I pray for anyone hurt by this tragedy, and especially the victims.

To everyone who’s lost someone they love
Long before it was their time
You feel like the days you had were not enough
when you said goodbye

And to all of the people with burdens and pains
Keeping you back from your life
You believe that there’s nothing and there is no one
Who can make it right

There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He’ll meet you wherever you are
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus

For the marriage that’s struggling just to hang on
They lost all of their faith in love
They’ve done all they can to make it right again
Still it’s not enough

For the ones who can’t break the addictions and chains
You try to give up but you come back again
Just remember that you’re not alone in your shame
And your suffering

When your lonely
And it feels like the whole world is falling on you
You just reach out, you just cry out to Jesus
Cry to Jesus

To the widow who struggles with being alone
Wiping the tears from her eyes
For the children around the world without a home
Say a prayer tonight
Cry out to Jesus~by Third Day

Go to God to heal your hurts,
God bless you all.

Virginia has always been home for me, I have lived in every corner of the state. However, when I moved from Hopewell to Blacksburg in 1994 I knew I had found a town like no other. A wonderful small town with a large campus full of spirit and heart.  My heart is broken to see my favorite community distraught by the tragedy of Monday’s violence.  I can only offer my prayers for the families of the victims and positive progressiveness for everyone at VT.

I visited your beautiful campus years ago while I was attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  The Big Orange Volunteers stand side-by-side with the Hokies. It is unfortunate that such evil exists in this world that we will never be able to fully comprehend.

Seeing this played out on the television, one can not even begin to imagine what you wonderful people went through on Monday. Having lived in Virginia for a while, I know what lovely people live there. Having a friend who graduated from VT, I know what a wonderful person he is.
