My heart and soul goes out to everyone effected by the Virginia Tech Tragedy on April 16, 2007. This was a day of heartache and pain not only for those there and those lost but for those who watched on tv. Its a shame when we live in a world where people are wanting to kill others for fun or revenge, and I cant believe it happens but sadly enough it does.

Those who lost someone close that day, you are in my thoughts. Those who were injured, your one of the chosen ones to continue on. Those who were lost, may you rest in peace and may your spirits live on in our hearts and memories.

Tonight I light candle in your memory and honor. Families, friends and strangers, we all grieve the same and we are all grieving now.

This day will always be remember as the day we all became HOKIES!

-Jennifer

My heart breaks when I think about the events of Monday morning. There are no words. It gives me some peace to know that all of those wonderful, irreplaceable people are in God’s arms now (I hear He’s a hokie fan!). They feel nothing but supreme happiness at being reunited with their creator. Let this make us stronger. Let this make us wiser, but most of all let this make us realize that life is precious and fleeting.

God Bless you Tech from the bottom of my heart.

Hokies Unite! Today, tomorrow, forever.

May God be with everyone who doesn’t understand(myself included). I pray in Jesus name for more wisdom to better serve our Lord. We will never forget how this event in history made us feel. We will grow stronger as a nation and will never give up. We will long remember our heroes who gave their lives and those who daily put their own at risk for others sake.

As we watched the events happen on TV we couldn’t help but feel that the professors and young men and women could be anyone of us, our friends, children, spouses.....  What a senseless act.  We are mourning with you and keep you close to our hearts through our prayers and thoughts.  We were not Hokie fans prior to this, but after witnessing the grace, honor and dignity of the faculty and students we will be fans for ever more.

Our condolences

We pray for the students and teachers whose precious lives were taken. May the God above enfold you all in His care-the families, friends, students and staff of your school. We may be separated by miles, but we are united by God’s love and the love for our fellow man. May this somehow bring our country and our world closer together. Deep within our souls we cry with you.  Deep within our hearts we pray for you.  All are precious in His sight. In sympathy and love, The Braun family

I am from Alabama so I am not a fan of VT, but I have watched the news the last three days and prayed each night for those of yall who have lost friends, family, and loved ones.  God has a plan for everything, and though the recent events dont make sense right now..in time everything will be ok.  Keep your faith and know that your friends and family are now in a better place.  All of us here at North Alabama have changed our facebook profiles to show VT and UNA.  We are all thinking of you and send our best!

Someone I work with said something today that has really helped me in the grieving process: it was said the reason the winds were so strong in Blacksburg on Monday was because the angels were swooping down from heaven to carry up those we lost.  God Bless the victims, their friends and families, and the entire VT and NRV community.I love this university and this town!  There is no where else I would rather live.  No one can destroy the sense of pride we Hokies feel for our school, certainly not this coward who has such disregard for human life.

We truly live in Satan’s world. Grace has taken many to sit at the right hand of the Lord in eternal glory. Their future of grace will last forever and while here in this world we cannot even comprehend the gifts af grace they are receiving at this moment. We grieve and they rejoice.

I wish that there was a way that we did not have to be remembering these upright and amazing people, but instead to be celebrating their lives.  But one man had no respect for the amazing and precious lives these people lead.  I wish that the media would focus more on how these people lived rather than how and why and who the killer was.  But we cannot all have our dreams come true, only we must learn from the mistakes of the past, and move on stronger and more resilient than ever.  I send my prayers to the families of all the victims and hope that they wil find peace in all of this.  Today we are all Hokies, and we will never forget.

My heart goes out to all the families who lost loved ones in the terrible tragedy, and to everyone who lost a great friend or teacher. There are no words I can say that will ease the pain, I know, I’ve been there myself. But God will get you through this. Please also pray for Cho’s family. They are suffering as well as all of you. Please do not blame them. They had no idea. But they are hurting like everyone, plus more because they have to hurt for all of you for their sons actions. May everyone find peace in their heart and remember the good times you had with your loved ones. All I can say is that you will never forget but time does make it easier to move on and deal with the loss. It’s hard to believe that, but a year from now you all will understand what I mean. Please seek help through www.compassionatefriends.com they helped me through the loss of my son. Keep praying and believing in God and he will get you through this hard time. God Bless you all. Everyone.

shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Being a Virginia native and being a 22 year old recent graduate of University of Mary Washington I have many close connections to Virginia Tech. This tragedy has touched my heart and has been hard to deal with. Seeing so much of me in the fallen, like Ryan Clark who like me shares a twin and was a fellow RA, and my twin sister is a fellow dancer like the fallen REEMA SAMAHA, it feels all too close. My heart goes out to the VT community, the fallen will not be forgotten.

This type of event is carried out to spread fear and to tear us apart, but all that it does is bring everyone closer together.  My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the 32 victims in Blacksburg.  Over the next few days, I am sure we will learn of heroic acts that saved many lives, but probably led to the death of those heroes.  A salute goes out to those souls now up in heaven and those still alive that put others ahead of themselves.  You exemplify the words “the land of the free and the home of the BRAVE.” Even as a graduate of Georgia Tech and an ACC rival, we stand up and say that TODAY, WE ARE ALL HOKIES.

Being a college student at LSU, this unfortunate tragedy has truly struck home for myself and all those college students across this great nation.  Watching your Convocation was so deeply inspiring.  Virginia Tech - the university, the community, the idea - has transmited such an amazing impression of strength, perseverence, peace, and decency throughout this entire ordeal.  May the Lord be with you always.

Dear Students, Faculty, Staff, Family and Friends of any and all VA Tech victims and survivors may God keep you all in his grace and comfort you through this very painful time.  Seek comfort and find strength in each other and in your community.  Do not let your pain destroy you.  The world mournes with you.  I lost a loved one to senseless gun violence, I know your pain.  I will keep you all in my prayers, always.

To the families and staff of Virginia Tech:

When I first saw the news on T.V., I was in complete shock and disbelief. This tragedy has made me realize how precious each and every life is, and even though I might not know anyone who was killed, I can guarantee you that I have a deep sorrow for all of you. I will continue to mourn for the families, the staff, and the students, and I just want you all to know that this tragedy has effected people world-wide. We are all with you. May the Hokies prevail and overcome this tragedy.

Sincerely,
Ashley C.
