There are no words that can express the feelings among students, faculty, friends and family associated with VT. It is a scary thought that someone can viciously rape you of your security and ultimately make the decision of when your life shall end. My thoughts and deepest sympathies are extended and I truly believe in my heart of hearts that in the end VT will arise from the ashes so to speak and emerge with what can only be described as a remarkable stand of courage and grace! May God Bless Virginia Tech, and may peace fill the campus and the hearts of those who are in pain. ~Ashley Snead

May God bless you and keep you in this saddest of times.  To say we understand would be insensitive.  We do not understand, yet we grieve and resolve to be strong, together.

As I was channel surfing, I came across this tragic event as it is unfolded. I was saddened, even tho I didn’t personally know any of the victims. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, the family, and the Hokies as you can ask God to heal you in your time of a need. This will always be memorable to me, because it happened only 3 days before my 25th birthday.

Peace and Blessings,

Marcus

I go to school here, and I feel devastated. I just feel crushed under the weight of how awful this is. I have huge hope in my heart for all those who lost someone close to them, and for all those who didn’t. We are all hurting right now. I know that if we hold on it will get easier. We must take solace in each other.

It would be impossible to write words to express my deepest condolences to everyone at VT.  I am extremely shocked, and also angry that someone could perform such a horrific act!
Tears flowed as I watched the great-grandmother of one of the victims.  As a mother of four, I cant begin to comprehend what these families, as well as your community, are enduring now.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.  May God bless you and comfort you.  Connie & Tim

My heart goes out to all of the families and friends of the 32 victims of the madman, to the victims recovering from injuries and to the entire student body of VT. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I admire your strength, courage and pulling together as a student body. Good triumphs over evil. You will all continue on in your studies and life. Never forgetting those who’s lives were taken too soon. You owe it to yourselves and to their memory to be all you can be.

Warm regards,

Kit Burke

You will always hold your loved ones in your heart, your soul, and in your memory.  May god bless you all and give you strength and support to heal this wound.

To the entire Virginia Tech Family,
I live in a small community where friends are like family.  We literally all know one another and form together, when something horrible takes place.  Something horrible has happened, and with our sense of community, please know that we have formed together for all of you.  You will continuously be in our hearts and prayers for a very long time.  I do not understand evil as none of you do either, but find comfort in knowing my small community feels your pain and sadness, and we will pray for you always.  The Bettencourt Family

You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Please know that the Nation IS thinking and praying for all of you, the victims and the families of the victims. You are strong! You will find a way to go on. Each of the victims as you all have described them would want you to continue with your classes and become the best you can be! Especially in their memory. Be strong and continue on. You can do it. Do not let one person bring you down. The best way to pay respect to your fallen classmates is to move and always remember them in your hearts and prayers. GOD bless you all!

Christ our Lord, grant rest to Our 32 Fallen Hokies among Your Saints, where there is no pain, sorrow or suffering, but everlasting life.

With the righteous who have reposed in Your peace, grant rest, Savior, to the souls of Our 32 Fallen Hokies, and bestow upon them the life which is from You, merciful Lord.

Lord remember our 32 Fallen Hokies who have fallen asleep in the hope of resurrection.  Forgive them every transgression they have committed in thought, word or deed.  Grant them peace and refreshment in a place of light where Your glory delights all the Saints.  For You are the resurrection, the repose and the life of Your departed servants, Our 32 Fallen Hokies, and to You I give glory, now and forever.

Amen.

I give you this one thought to keep ~
I am with you still ~ I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone ~
I am with you still ~ in each new dawn....

May this ‘Native American Prayer’ give you, those left to grieve, the slightest bit of peace. I am the mother of two PennState graduates....my heart goes out to the families of those lost and the entire Virginia Tech community. God Be With You All!
