Condolences, April 18, 2007

The pain is deep, and the grief is heavy, but if you stay strong, the sun will rise tomorrow.

My heart goes out to you as the entire world prays for your strength. We are all waiting for the sun to rise.

Although we have cried tears of grief and sadness, we have also cried tears of hope as we’ve witnessed the amazing Virginia Tech family come together and lift each other up and towards a healing path. May that path rise up to meet you and carry you to a peaceful place. God’s blessings to all.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the students, parents and faculty of Virginia Tech. Those who were lost will forever have their memories carried on through those who were blessed to know and love them. I have never been as proud as I am today to say I am a Hokie. Continue to be strong and stay united. God bless.

I can not only begin to say how I feel about what has happened to our hokie community.  How someone known as a hokie could have the mind set and the cowardly act to carry out something to this extreme.  I want all the family members who lost a love one to know (I think I can speak for all the students, staff, and alumni) that you are in our thoughts and prayers and that the 31 people who lost their lives will never be forgotten.  This day will never be the same nor should it because so many of our friends were taken from us. As a Hokie Nation I feel certain we will be strong in dealing with this difficult time and just remember we are HOKIES.
God Bless.....J. Putnam

To anyone out there reading this who feels lost, empty, alone, or unloved, hurt, ashamed.. know that there is a loving God waiting with open arms to take away your pain whether from loss, anger , sorrows, lonliness, despair,… whatever pain you are feeling,...get on your knees, and pray to him for guidance and healing and feel his awesome, eternal love for you.  I pray that out of this unimaginable tragedy, others may come to know the Lord, and turn away from the twisted path of horrific destruction of lives, including their own eternal life.
May you all find peace through him, for that is the only way to true peace. May God bless you and be with you all.

In times like these, we must seek wisdom and guidance from a “higher power.” I cannot begin to feel the pain and anguish being experienced by the victims and their families; however, I know that we are all deeply saddened by this senseless tragedy.  Through the power of prayer, the healing process will begin.  We will and must move on, but we will never forget.  GOD bless us all!

Dear Teachers and Students,
I was shocked to hear about what happened, I have several friends who attend Virginia Tech and several are engineering majors, they fortunately got out safely, but to the victims of that dreadful day I would like to offer my deepest condolences.  Even though I had no personal connection to any of the victims, I will never forget them or this day for the rest of my life!!

I cannot show my feelings toward this act nor can i express them.  The things that were done were unexplainable.  Here in this time i send my prayers to all those at Virginia Tech, and all of their families as well.  Hokie spirit will not collapse though, and they will return stonger then ever.  HOKIES YOU ARE NUMBER ONE!

Though 3,000 miles away my heart still resides in Blacksburg.  My love and prayers go to the those who have gone on to the comforting embrace of God and the entire Hokie nation who, while grieving with the loss, offers itself to provide a comforting embrace here on earth for the family and friends left behind to grieve and, soon, to heal.

THE STUDENTS FACULTY AND STAFF HAVE SHOWN SUCH GRACE IN THE FACE OF UNSPEAKABLE TRAGEDY. YOU ARE THE UTMOST ROLE MODLES IN DIGNITY. THE FACES OF THE HOKIES SMILING THROUGH TEARS WHEN EXPLAINING THE LIVES OF THOSE LOST OR INJURED IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE YOU CAN PAY THESE FELLOW STUDENTS AND STAFF. AS AN ARKANSAS RAZORBACK FAN I UNDERSTAND THE FEELING OF PRIDE IN ONES UNIVERSITY. YOU ARE THE EXAMPLE OF SCHOOL PRIDE AND SPIRIT. IN THE UPCOMING DAYS PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WHEN THE NATION HAS GONE BACK TO BUSINESS AS USUAL, WE WILL NEVER FORGET THE CLASS AND DIGNITY THE WE HAVE SEEN ON YOUR CAMPUS. THE WORLD WILL LEARN A VALUABLE LESSON FROM YOU. WE ARE ALL HOKIES TODAY

I just want to say my thoughts and prayers are with the entire Hokie Nation.  I know what you are going through.  On April 13, thirteen years ago a gunman entered my workplace and killed two of my co-workers and wounded four people before killing himself.  I know right now you are looking for answers as why this happened and you are looking for people to blame for this tragedy.  Remember, the only one to blame is the one that pulled the trigger.  It took me awhile to realize that.

I hope and pray one day you will be able to put this behind you and remember your days at VT fondly but also never forgot those that lost their lives.  Remember them and honor them by being the best you can be and living everyday to the fullest.

May God Bless you all

My thoughts and prayers are with all that are touched by this tragedy, both directly and indirectly.  Deep hugs, a large helping of a favorite food, and talking with close friends seem to me to be the best way to help time heal these wounds.  God has a purpose for all that happens, even if it isn’t our place to know why, I pray that understanding comes with comfort, and that those that were lost find their way to a home of bliss and peace.

I send both my and the Royal Battalion’s condolences.

Peace be with you,
C/LTC Dollete

There is nothing I can say that is going to bring back your loved one. I am however completely apologetic, and wish you the best in your recovering of such a deep loss. I am truly sorry to all the people that have been affected by this experience. I have been and will continue to pray for the support and well being in your community.
