Those of us who have never encountered such horror can only imagine the pain and sorrow being felt by those who have lived and died because of it. The words posted here cannot make that pain less, but be heartened that your grief is not yours alone. Many, many people from all walks of life, and from all corners of the Earth share it with you. These next days and weeks and months will be hard for you. Let your feelings be known and be sure to get help if you need it.
Our thoughts are with you all.

In The Hands of The Lord
Words & Music by Pepper Choplin

See the hands, see the face,
See the miracle of God’s grace.
Now we come as many have before
To place the child in the hands of the Lord.

A child will come into our lives with open hearts, open eyes.
We surround them with a love outpoured
and place the child in the hands of the Lord.

Through every step, the child will grow and change,
There will be joy, there will be pain.
So now we come to join this day
And vow to teach, to guard and pray,
That when they fall and when they soar,
They are held by the hands of the Lord.

And when our hands must let them go,
By faith our hearts will always know
That whatever life may have in store,
We place the child into the hands of the Lord.

In a time like this i know that there aren’t any words that could change the pain these families and friends are going through but i would like to say that my heart and soul goes out to everyone that has been affected by this especially friends and families of the victims. My family and my boyfriend and his family send our prayers and thoughts everyday to you. I know the world can stand behind me when I say that no one deserves what happened to these students but know that the world stands next to you in your grief. Always tell those you love how much you love them, and may this event be an eye opener to our world. I hope one person’s thoughts makes a difference, I send all my prayers and love.

Here is something that you can share with everyone at the school. It is a prayer and it goes like this.

I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard-----
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word.
I didn’t ask for wealth or fame,
I knew you wouldn’t mind.
I asked Him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind.
I asked that He’d be near you
At the start of each new day,
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share your way.
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small,
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all.

From,

To the students, families and community of Virginia Tech.
What a proud school you are. I have always loved the school spirit and pride that is represented at your college.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of so many innocent lives. I just can’t understand what makes some people hate so much that they will hurt people they don’t even know. I can’t imagine what your feelings are but just remember this whole nation is praying for you. I know that this too shall past--but it will never be forgotten. I love the speaker who said “We are the Hokies and we will rise again”.
I am blessed with two children, and I pray that they never have to experience, (first hand), nothing like this past week. We are praying for you. Stand strong together.
God Bless,
Andre, Lennette, Dominia’, and Kelvin Brown

Dear Virginia Tech Students, Faculty, Staff and Families,

In times of great loss it is often easy to harbor deep feelings of contempt. However, the amount of courage, compassion and support that the entire Virginia Tech community has portrayed should be marked as an example for the way in which the rest of the world should cope with tragedy. The deep care and concern your community shares has made me feel a part of your wonderful school, and wish that I could extend my hand to help you through this terrible time. My only hope is that your spirit is not hindered and that all of your hopes remain high, as you work through this grieving process. My thoughts and prayers are with each one of you, and find solace knowing that even those who you have never met before, hold you all in their hearts and in their blessings.

Love,

Sadness knows no barriers, hurt knows no barriers - so does love, peace, care, hope and understanding.

I wish you all well and pray that all the families and hurting victims may find solace in arms of friends and strangers from all over the globe.

In these difficult moments, let’s reach out as well and not forget likewise the South Korean family whose feelings right now are of fear, confusion and loss.  They’re much as victims as well.

As much as we may not want to at these times - let’s try harder. That’s what makes America better.

From here in The Philippines - my prayers go out every night for as long as it has to - to all of you there - the students, the faculty, the admininstrative, the alumnus - everyone.  Mabuhay po kayong lahat. (Long live to all of you)

My heart and prayers go out to you all.I know that this is a very trying time, but just know that God is with you through it all.  There is a bible verse that helps me get through hard times that I would like to share with you.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

There were many times throughout my life when I had loved ones die, or hard times come about that I looked to this verse for comfort.  I hope and pray that it may comfort you also!
