Our hearts go out to all of you.... students, professors, staff.... who have been so deeply affected. You are not alone. We are here, sending you our support, our love and our strength.

A special wish to all of the R.A.’s in the dorms who mourn the loss of one of their own. He was doing his job, doing it so well and with the best of intentions. May you honor his memory by continuing to care for the students and R.A.’s around you.

Always in my thoughts & prayers.

Let each and everyone of us hold a special place in our hearts for the lives lost on that tragic day.

We are all Hokies ...

and we will always remember.

Words are frustratingly inadequate at times like these. Know that the world has you in our embrace and will hold you up until you can stand again. Your courage and strength throughout this madness is truly inspirational. Breathe in the love that surrounds you and let it heal you.

I am a older college student. I was suprised at the depth of emotion this very sad event caused me to feel. I was sobbing during the televised memorial. My heartfelt prayers go out to all those affected by this tragic event. I cannot imagine the loss of a loved one in such a horrific manner. May God bless you as you deal with your loss. I pray for a quick return to a sense of peace we all take for granted in our daily lives. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that you are all loved and and being cared for by a loving creator. I hope you do not get lost in hatred or resentment. There is no logical reason to find in a prolonged search. The only solace i can find is that these 32 souls were needed elsewhere and were taken to a much better place.

The only thing I can do now is to pray for those begrieved in this horrible incident.  I do not understand, no do I seek to understand, how purposely hatred could take away the lives of so many so quickly.  May God heal the wounds of all.

We all feel your pain down under in Australia even though your wonderful country is so far away we still feel like neighbours. It is so sad to see so many beautiful and innocent students and teachers taken away from there family and friends like this and having there life cut so short. To all the students and families at Virginia Tech our wishes are with you, it will take time but the pain will ease so stay very strong. Look after your friends and mates as they will need your support and love. Please send a big G’day and my sincere wishes and hugs to all the injured still in hospital and I hope they have a speedy recovery. God bless America and everyone in Virginia in this time of need.

I am a proud Hokie alumnus...Class of 1978.
I would like to share this tribute I wrote and
express my deepest sympathy and love to all Hokies.

“Phoenix”

Massacre,
please, please
let it not be true.
My idyllic eden, my refuge,
the verdant, green lawns,
stained red,
the blood of innocents.

Majestic, Hokie-stone
buildings, stand
witness to horror
amidst their beloved
pastoral innocence,
and weep with us.

Look to our beloved
mountains, for they
still surround us
with their beauty.
They offer us solace
through their steadfast,
gentle presence.

Walk the time worn paths,
we know the ones,
for they are steeped
in our history,
reminding us,
that those who have
gone before,
weep with us.

Watch the sunrise,
as you sit upon
the War Memorial,
the light illuminating
the names of our fallen,
knowing that no one here
will be forgotten.
They, too, will be honored.

Let us climb the hills
to the falling water
of the Cascades,
let it flow over us
cleansing our hearts
and souls,
receive nature’s healing
power.

Our family visited your campus for a weekend in 2004 and we were stuck by the idyllic setting, the beauty of the landscape, and the collective outstanding community of Virginia Tech.

As the story of the VT tragedy unfolds it is apparent how many of these victims were also heroes worthy of praise and respect and honor. May their light shine far brighter than the perpetrator and may we all choose to honor them proudly and loudly, always knowing their legacy will lift Virginia Tech to the heights it deserves.

May God bless all of you touched by this tragedy and we wish you strength, faith, and resolve to move ahead toward the promise of your futures.

I know many people are wishing the best and keeping everyone in their prayers.  I, too, am heartbroken and astounded by all the hatred inflicted on these innocent people.  May God bless all the friends and families to this university.  Remember all the wonderful things everyone brought to this world, and if possible, carry out whatever their missions were in life.  That is the best way to keep their memory alive in everyone’s hearts.

I am simply horrified and sickened by this senseless unimaginary act of pure hatred and violence. I cannot imagine the fear and grief that all the students at VT are feeling at this point. Going to a large university myself I realize that this horrifying tradegy could have occured here. It is a truly scary world that we are living in. The important thing to remember during this time is to truly appreciate the people in your life. Love everyone the best way you know how to and cherish everything and everyone you have.

I can only wish all of you a tremendous “GOD BLESS”. Stay strong and stay together.

I mourn with all those close to the victims. YOU ARE ALL IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!!!!

my name is robyn elaine west. i am a student in richmond virginia. as soon as i heard the news of what had happened, i left my home to be with my friend who is an exchange student at virginia tech. she has no family in virginia, or so i thought. when i arrived at the campus, i was overwhelmed by how supportive and loving the students and faculty are at the university. i was brought to tears by the candlelight vigil that the students, both current and former, organized for the victims and the families of this inhumane, heinous and most undeserved act of hatred. my love and support is with you all, god bless you and heal your hearts with a love that is most powerful.
