Condolences, April 18, 2007

We need to pray for all the wonderful lives taken from us. Their lives were just stopped abruptly from one person who could not control himself. For the others who were injured, we need to be thankful that they are still living. The only way to get through this is to work together. We must bring each other up. We shall forgive, but not forget.

IMMORTALITY
by Robert Hepburn

Do not stand on my grave and weep…
I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft starshine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry…
I am not there. I did not die.

To lose a loved one, a dear friend or any other important figure in our life, is one of the most difficult experiences to endure. Sometimes, when someone close passes away, we might even be at a loss for words.

And that’s ironic because this is precisely when words can count the most—to acknowledge the sadness, to show support for those left behind, to recall the special—and wonderful—memories of the one who has left us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time of sorrow for this tradgey affects our nation as a whole.

Our hearts go out to you as students, friends, and family may God watch over you and lead you this tradgic time

I grew up in Blacksburg, worked at Virginia Tech, and received my master’s degree from Tech.

As I watched the events unfold, my heart hurt for all of the terror, pain and suffering that the campus community experienced.  No words can make the loss easier to bear, but hopefully knowing that people around the world care about you and are praying for you will make the healing process easier.

God bless you all.  Go Hokies!!

Friends:
My prayers and thoughts are with you.  I truly believe now is a time to hold tight to your faith.  Heaven is our true goal.  Remember that you will see your loved ones again.  You WILL.  Hold tight to that thought.  They know you miss them, but I assure you that they are worried about us.  For we are still here on earth, where all has become vicious and cruel.  Heaven is beautiful and represents all that is good.  Hold tight to your faith, you will see your loved ones again.  Trust that and you may gain some peace with that in mind.  Our family will keep all your families in our prayers.
God Bless,
